As for recapping, things are going to have to change up some. We have more than just US timezones helping now (THANK YOU), and I'm not able to pick up multiple shifts several times a week to make the old schedule work anymore. So since the game has slowed down, we're going to try everyone taking a day and see how it works. If you signed up to broadcast and linkgrab, I have you down to recap the same day, and otherwise tried to pair people by time zones. I encourage you to talk to whoever you're recapping for, and see what time they want links by, and if something doesn't work out we can tweak it.

That also of course goes for if you're on vacation or sick or can't get it done that day.

Time again for the most nervewracking time of my semester: the call for broadcasters!

Beginning Sunday, August 28, anyone who's interested gets their shot at an audition broadcast (meaning that they’ll do a recap for everyone to read that goes up sometime before noon Eastern time the next day (So the Tuesday broadcast covers Monday's news)). You're also free to sign up if you want to do radio just once. If in the increasingly rare case of more broadcasters than days in the week, we'll put it to a vote and let the players decide. If you're currently a broadcaster or recapper, your shift continues until the new schedule/tryouts start.

You can also sign up here to be a radio squirrel! We need help in gathering the day's links for the broadcaster to... broadcast, and so if you'd like to be squirrelly, this would be the place. As a reminder, we always need squirrels so people don't tire out recapping everything, and without them, radio doesn't work, so if that feels like something you might want to be a part of, please sign up!

We always need participation to keep going. The more people sign up, the less work for everyone there is to do, and right now I'm not in a position where I can pick up the slack as much as I used to. So if you can help at all, you will have my undying gratitude.

Since two recappers are out this week and the people who signed up to help are pretty much the ones who already do radio, I unfortunately had to double up some people; I put those who recap classes on an additional beat since classes will probably be slow, and if you said you were okay with picking up more than one radio I used you, but tried to put you on a different day than your usual for the extra one.

Two important notes:

2. I won't be around, so if you have any questions or problems or want to trade or pick up a shift, direct your questions to the admins who I trust will take very good care of radio while I'm gone. :)

Hello, all! With the BDE on the horizon and people getting kidnapped into the Matrix, there are going to be some changes to how radio is run during the duration of the plot. Specifically, there are going to be two radios.

Here's how this is gonna work:
-If your broadcast character is in Fandom during the BDE, you'll do their usual broadcast. If your broadcast character is in the Matrix during the BDE, they can broadcast for the Matrix radio on your usual day. You can also sign up for a one shot broadcast in either comm during that part of the week.
-If you linkgrab, you'll still cover your regular shift in Fandom. We'll still need people to recap the Matrix comm, though, so I'll be looking for volunteers to help just for part of the week. If you're a regular recapper or just want to help out, you're totally welcome/needed!
-If for whatever reason you can't do either your broadcast or links, I'll have a thread below where you can ask someone to cover.

I'm asking anyone with a radio broadcast during July 29-August 2 to ping into one of the threads in this post, just so I know where your character will be and where I need to fill in gaps.

This will be open till midnight PST on Monday, July 27, at which point a schedule will be made for both comms that'll last till the end of the BDE.

As a reminder, radio signups for summer are here and open till Saturday! And we reeeally need people, so if you have any desire to do some broadcasting or recapping, it'd be much appreciated. There's still a couple open slots for broadcasters, and ideally three more squirrels would be awesome because otherwise we're at that pesky "Radio has to go on hiatus for the summer!" place.

Hola, squirrels! With the trip starting today and no classes to recap, the beats are going to change a bit this week:

A couple notes:
1. All dates reflect the day radio shows up in game: radio can go up any time before noon Eastern time that day.

Hello and thank you, new and returning broadcasters! I love you guys, mwah. As with previous semesters we're still splitting shifts, but so that no one has to grab one section every day or anything, we will be continuing the three-day-a-week schedule with alternating Sundays. Everyone returning should have a new section to recap so you don't get burned out on the same stuff.


Here are a few other reminders:

1. Radio links are due between 6:30 pm PST (9:30 Eastern) and 8 pm PST (11:00 Eastern) unless the recapper has requested them earlier. If the recapper is doing a morning broadcast, you can get them in any time that night.

2. At some point, everyone's section will be slammed by links. They are also here to step in if your computer explodes, you are going on vacation for a few days, or your RL catches fire. This time your backup will be Shannon and Momoko! And don't forget that we have our availability request post in case you need help. You can tack that post so you can see when a new request comes in.

3. Class and clubs can be truncated to exclude "and so and so existed" threads that aren't used.

4. As always, anything happening in the exam rooms of the clinic is NFB, as is anything marked NFB in non-public spaces (rooms, ye olde conveniently secluded parts of the the beach or preserve). The jail is for broadcast. If people are out and public and then go NFB, you can report who was talking, but not what the conversation was about. If they don't mark it as NFB, they're out of luck if they didn't want it up on the radio.

5. As far as the linking itself goes, it makes life much easier for the broadcaster if your stuff is in chronological order going from morning to evening. Please be sure to recap the entire conversation, not just until the thread folds. Also also, please add last names to the names that double: we have multiple Jacks at almost any point in time, etc., and it'll cut back on confusion for everyone.
