fandom_radio | OOC: Radio signups!

A new semester is starting! That means it's time for another call for radio help. We're always looking for new talent, so if you've got a character who would like to be the weekly voice of the radio for the fall (or someone who wouldn't like it but you want to force them into it anyway), this would be the place to sign up. Teachers, townies and students are welcome!

Beginning Sunday, August 24, anyone who's interested gets their shot at an audition broadcast (meaning that they’ll do a recap for everyone to read that goes up sometime before noon Eastern time the next day (So the Tuesday broadcast covers Monday's news)). You're also free to sign up if you want to do radio just once. And then if you haven't run screaming and we have more people trying out than slots, we put up a poll at the end of tryouts and from there we get the seven broadcasters for the semester if it's necessary. If you're currently a broadcaster, your shift continues until tryouts start.

You can also sign up here to be a radio squirrel! We need help in gathering the day's links for the broadcaster to... broadcast, and so if you'd like to be squirrelly, this would be the place. If you'd like to help but aren't sure what you'd be getting into, there's an unlocked tutorial here so you can see what actual links look like. As a reminder, we always need squirrels so people don't tire out recapping everything, and without them, radio doesn't work, so if that feels like something you might want to be a part of, please sign up!

Can we do a one-time-only (or few-times-only) squirreling? I'd like to offer, but I'm afraid to overcommit and burn out.

Emergency and backup squirreling is like that! (Natalie, is that still a thing? If so, I'd like to sign up for that). We pitch in and help when people can't grab their links for whatever reason or when there's a huge event that could use an extra hand or two: picnics, prom, AU kids, etc etc
