firstofitskind: (are you sure that's a good idea)
[personal profile] firstofitskind
Liam: Listen, guys, I know you and the mice have an understanding but it's not them you should worry about, it's- oh. We're broadcasting. Hi, Fandom.

Jules: Sorry, sorry, sorry I'm la- you're not the grouchy lady who's usually on the radio Thursdays.

Liam: And you're not the student who usually does radio with said grouchy lady.

Jules: Keyleth. She couldn't make it. There was a thing.

Liam: And Beau's just hungover. But now that we've established what happened to the usual radio hosts, hi. I'm Liam Kincaid, and this is-

Jules: Juillenne. Jules.

Liam: And we're apparently bringing you the news today.

Jules: In the dorms, Paris was singing to herself and scrapbooking. Why are the squirrels snickering?

Liam: I think they think it's some sort of euphemism.

Jules: For what? Never mind. I don't think I want to know.

Liam: Over at the school, there was the usual shenanigans. Which involved matching socks today instead of ugly shirts. Not sure if we traded up or down on that one, honestly.

Jules: Spectators and participants alike had some time to mingle outside of the main event.

Liam: Nina was filming the whole thing, up until Prompto came by and tried to give her a slime-covered hug, which she was having none of.

Jules: And Jack called dibs on Fjord's new socks, and then made plans to get some matching underwear with the Dean's face on them. I'm not gonna ask why.

Liam: I was there, too. And Octavia and I had a conversation that wasn't awkward at all.

Jules: That's really descriptive.

Liam: But true.

Jules: I guess. Everyone picked up their strange socks.

Liam: On Team Tacosaurus and I can't believe that's a word I just said, Sparkle was a pretty big fan of the socks, and Okuyasu ended up both offering him his socks as well and then introducing himself. In that order.

Jules: The Delicate Flowers didn't seem to have too many problems with their socks. Shunsui was dubious until he actually saw the socks, and he and Shuri had to agree they were pretty great. Kitty also had only nice things to say about them, and Shunsui in turn had nice things to say about her. Now, this isn't my culture, so things could be different, but I'm fairly certain his comments were not entirely appropriate given that she is a married woman.

Liam: Team Team Anakin Face was unanimously all sorts of horrified about their socks, and I don't blame them.

Jules: Strangely, Team Frida Kahlo wasn't as bothered by the fact that their socks also had faces.

Liam: Probably because none of us have ever actually met Frida Kahlo.

Jules: I suppose that makes sense. On to the main event, then. Which was something about holding a bucket with one's feet while simultaneously trying to remove the socks.

Liam: It didn't go particularly well for most of us. Team Tacosaurus decided on a strategy based on foot size. It didn't work out too well for them.

Jules: The Delicate Flowers opted for a less delicate approach that involved flinging their bucket into the air.

Liam: Team Anakin Face had more complaints while they strategized.

Jules: And then someone on Team Frida Kahlo broke out a... 'ray gun'? How'd that work out for you?

Liam: Three words: kombucha hair rinse. Which apparently is a real thing people pay money for, according to the google, so. There's that, I suppose.

Jules: The winners were Team Anakin Face, which just makes me wonder if there was some sort of sock-based nepotism at work here.

Liam: I have no idea where you got that idea. Moving on from the camp shenanigans, over in town Breq was at work cleaning out the basement of Groovy Tunes.

Jules: Summer had her usual first-one-free special going over at Caritas. Seivarden stopped by, apparently to avoid dealing with her cranky cat, and I can understand that, even if Camden is more or less responsible for feeding herself. She's feeling a little put-out this week, that's for sure.

Liam: Octavia also stopped by, and was interested to learn that Jello shots aren't just a Halloween-exclusive thing.

Jules: Shunsui- the notes here say 'swanned' in, and I haven't met the man, but that does seem to fit with what I've heard about him. He swanned in, with an offer to buy Summer's store off her.

Liam: Over at Hernando's place, he was surprised to find out that something fishy was going on. Or rather, that something fishy wasn't there at all. As in, his pet fish were missing. Judging by the sudden change in menu options at all of the restaurants in town, this is one of those things that'll fix itself by Monday, but I suppose I can see how it might be somewhat upsetting to find yourself with an empty fish tank.

Jules: Why would you keep fish in a tank? We live on an island, could you not just catch them whenever you needed? ... Besides this week, I suppose.

Liam: These fish weren't for eating, they're pets.

Jules: Why would anyone- this is one of those weird mainlander things I will never understand, isn't it?

Liam: Probably. And lastly, over at the Devil's Nest, Jack was actually relieved to find the bar's stock of Clamato vanished without a trace. What do you think are the chances of that stuff not making it back when we switch locations on Monday?

Jules: I'd ask what a 'clamato' was but I think I just figured it out and gross.

Liam: Anyway, that's all the news for today, and now I go back home where hopefully Verity has forgiven the early morning squirrel intrusion.

Jules: Did she nearly eat one? Because that's what Camden tried.

Liam: ... No. But then, she's not a- mountain lion? Bye, Fandom, eat your broccoli, not the squirrels!
