What up, islands, it's ya girl, Arden Finch, comin' at you live from Barbaaaaados, because 'vacation' in squirrel means 'get drunk and spy on people in foreign locales.'
We're all on vacation, so obviously nothing in School or Dorms, but we did have some things happening in Town Mr. Blackwood was doing inventory at Pick Your Poison, and met a...different Dr. Quinn than the one who lives on the island. Turns out she's Dr. Isley's girlfriend and there was a, uh, nice reunion before they wandered the streets. I guess for a nice tour?
And here on the Trip, there was plenty of sun, sea, and sand for all yesterday morning, with lots of goings-on at the hotel. Professfor Scientia was joined on the balcony by Professor Vess for a morning coffee, before she headed off to the pool to lounge. I was up for early morning yoga, and Professor Amicitia hit the gym for a nice vacation workout. Plenty of people hung out at the beach, with Ms. Skywalker and Captain Flint talking about a mutual acquaintance and a line drawn in the metaphorical sand, Kamala - hi, Kams!! - achieving her goal of drinking out of a pineapple, Lord De Rolo learning an important lesson about sunblock, while Lydia - hi, Lydia!! - sensibly used a parasol to protect her fair skin.
All y'all should be using sunblock, though. Consider this a PSA.
The Island Safari was a big hit. Dean Skywalker enjoyed the bar afterwards, talking with Professor Sims about how much better Barbados weather is than Baltimore and they're absolutely right. Belle and I shared book recommendations for that perfect beach read, while she and Graham readied themselves for a safari adventure. He and I talked about some of the activities we're hoping to do this week, sharing brilliant ideas back and forth. I also chatted with Cal about taking a long walk on the beach this morning. Ms. Wren, Professor Argentum, and Little Miss rounded out our safari party, making sure we got enough pictures during the trip.
The excursion to Bridgetown also had some takers, with Professor Lana taking a rum tour, and Stewart - hi, Stewart!! - finding a store that rented musical equipment.
The evening was much quieter, or, more likely, the squirrels were a lot drunker. They managed to note that Professor Sims hung out in the sauna, Professor Vess had dinner in a bougie restaurant, and Ms. Skywalker stopped at the supermarket. Y'all didn't even note what snacks she came back with! What kind of journalism is that?
But that's enough about what we did yesterday, I'm outta notes and about ready for some adventure of my own. So this is ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off, but not before leaving you with this perfect beach song, Kokomo by the Beach Boys. A'ight y'all, Arden out--and wear your sunscreen!
