Good morning, dear island. I am Miss Lydia Bennet, and today is Saturday, and that means it is once again my turn to read you the news as reported by squirrels.
We shall begin, of course, with the school, where Dr. Navaan taught her Romance students about "love languages," and they took a quiz and discussed the results. I see, and where might I find this quiz? Mm-hmm. Thank you. Cultural Appropriation learned about "cotillion," which involved dance and etiquette lessons, both very important! The students in Hitting Things with Big Sharp Sticks learned some basic sword maneuvers and then paired up to practice them. After class, Ms. Ingram attempted to dissuade Mr. Amicitia from being harder on his students. Kitchen Design According to Nancy Meyers watched another film to discuss the kitchen in it, and Big Thinking, Deep Drinking met on the beach to discuss the question 'Why?'
Why what?
There are once more no notes for the dorms--yes, yes, very sad, your life is so hard--so we move along to the town, where Detective Watts did not take a nap at the Trooper Station, and apparently this is considered newsworthy. Meanwhile, at the clinic, Dr. Navaan was inventing new love languages to replace the ones from her class. They were...um...ah...
Moving along. Miss Skywalker was at her warehouse, assisted by Dean Skywalker in cleaning up after a party the woodchucks had thrown. Mr. Stewart was at work at Groovy Tunes, whilst at Pizza Planet Mr. Raiden was rather excited about a mushroom delivery. At Turtle & Canary Mr. Argentum fielded some questions from Miss Khan regarding the...bacon-flavored squishy, and I can only imagine those questions were 'Why?'
Perhaps this is what the drinking class was pondering. A mystery solved, as another unfolds. It's almost poetic, really.
At The Ink Spot, Captain Flint was celebrating Bahamian Independence Day, and at Needful Things, there was a display of ships in bottles. No idea if these things are related. Detective Watts stopped by to bring Dr. Quinn a cake for her birthday--oh! Many happy returns!--and Mr. Grant brought her an iced coffee. Horrid stuff, coffee. I know I would much prefer the cake, but there's no accounting for taste. And lastly, it seems it was a very ordinary night at The Devil's Nest, where Mr. LeBeau requested some jazz and reminisced on his hometown. Lord, drunks are so maudlin!
Oh! My 'love language' is apparently 'words of affirmation,' by the way, which doesn't seem right. I thought surely it would be receiving gifts! Well, it's just a silly quiz. Until next week, dear listeners! Watch out for squirrels!
