goldfishontherocks: (Casting)

Beau: Oh hey, look, guess it's that time again.

Keyleth: It is! Hi, everybody!

Beau: Just for the record, the gremlins are still a little unsettling. How about we get this over with so we can maybe get out of here before they get bitey?

Keyleth: Yeah, that's not a bad idea. So! School! First class of the day was Ethics, where Master Skywalker gave us all empty bowls and told us he brought us chocolate pudding and encouraged us to share the . . . nothing. It was an interesting exercise? I'm still kind of concerned about him though. So You Want to Be a Pirate? covered dressing like pirates today, which wasn't really a concern for Sidon, but he told Duke that the bird he had with him was actually Vette, not just an accessory to his pirate look. Anyway, everybody chose their outfits, and since Sidon is kind of really, really huge, accessorizing was tricky and Evie offered to alter one of the eyepatches for a custom fit for him. He did pick out a hat, though! Which confused Jack. The student, that is. And then everybody got to show off their outfits. Or possibly walk the plank? Those are certainly choices.

Also, Elisabeth had to break up a fight between holiday-themed books in the stacks at the library. Plus study hall happened during third period, and Principal Winchester did a lot of sighing at her email while she was running it.

Beau: I kinda yell at mine a lot? But I mostly get annoying spam [BEEP], so. Anything in the dorms? No? Okay. Town [BEEP] it is.

At Turtle and Canary, Apu was playing five notes on a trombone while Shunsui kept drinking, and the flowers were singing at Covent Garden Flowers --

Keyleth: -- which really isn't all that unusual --

Beau: -- but Peter was maybe trying to avoid them because he's not a fan of the song they kept singing. Jack was accessorizing with a snake at Devil's Nest and totally judging the one song the DJ kept playing over and over and oh wait, that snake was Fjord. Until he wasn't a snake any more and haha, dude, awkwaaaaaaaard. You, uh. Recovered from the embarrassment yet, man? The staff at Luke's was also singing, because that was just a [BEEP]in' trend yesterday, I guess. Some song about a dog, because the cook turned into one so Regina had to cover that job. Kitty came in to get some food, but kinda stuck around for the show and also kinda caught up with Regina in a way that involved a way too nonchalant conversation about multiple, alternate-reality versions of their kids. Like. With pictures and everything. And then Evie came in, and speaking of alternate-reality versions of [BEEP], Regina is like a dead ringer for her mom or something.

And -- okay. So like. That musical theme that was going on? Summer and Tino were using the zombie band at Caritas to keep up their suggestion-box feud by requesting sets of three songs that the band had to play over and over and wow, at a bar with a no-violence spell on it that seems like a good way to get everyone kicked out on their [BEEP]es. Sparkle was super excited about getting free Fireball Cider Jello shots for all the song requests he was gonna make but also got a fancy glittery drink from Summer and caught up with Peter a little bit. Rey had concerns about the special backfiring and also -- the gremlins felt like this was worth noting -- ordered a soda. But not a specific one. She asked Summer to surprise her with one, which turned out to be Dr. Pepper. Seivarden tried to, like, game the special by asking for a whiskey for every song request, but nope. Summer said it had to be the Fireball whiskey, and it had to be the Jello shots. Seivarden ended up getting a free non-Jello shot of whiskey anyway after her song request attempts turned out to be a total bust, but the yelling was, apparently, hilarious. To the gremlins. Totally not to me. Duke wanted to know if Summer was regretting that special, which she wasn't, and they ended up talking about how a bunch of people from space all ended up on this island even if it was kinda statistically improbable, and how Summer thinks Duke looks like he could be, like, Kanan and Shunsui's love child.

Also, surprise, Seivarden complained about the band to Duke, except they ended up talking about his stash of really good rum and -- wait, what? What do I have to do to get in on that? Peter asked if they could still make song requests even if they're not into eating Jello, and maybe just needed to get wasted after hearing the same song at work all day. That's valid, man.

Keyleth: Is that it? I think that's it.

Beau: Good, we can get the [BEEP] out of here before the gremlins get any ideas.

Keyleth: Good idea. Yeah. Bye, everybody, and we'll talk at you next week!
