special_rabbit: (gasp!)
[personal profile] special_rabbit
Good morning, Fandom. Amaya Blackstone here, pleased to report that the squirrels were nice enough to come to me this morning, saving me the trouble of trying to get through that mess of a snowstorm out there. Power's still out for most of the island, though, they tell me, but there's a few spots with some generators running; I've got Missus Crumbler rigged up for one here at the forge, plus we've got a nice warm fire, like in the community centers, and, it looks like, up in the dorms, that's good. But if you do go out, be safe about it and keep warm.

And, with that out of the way, let's get to yesterday's notes.

With no SCHOOL in session this week, we've got nothing there, but in the DORMS, Alluka decided it was the perfect weather for a tea party with her toys and avoiding writing letters, and Ringo was there to help her work through all her...'stormcookies,' before she got a call from Sparkle.

Sabine took advantage of the fireplace and the need to eat through food that might go bad without refrigeration in the second floor common room. Peebee, it seems, finds all this snow and ice a bit too boring for her tastes, and she and Sabine worried about on how difficult it might make travel before contemplating a method to predict all the weird things this place likes to throw at us. Good luck with that, girls, and I mean that, that's not sarcasm. Beaker was eager to rescue some ice cream from melting, and please don't tell me he wound up with one of those ice cream headaches immediately after...

*chittering*

...right, good point about the fire....

...well, Sabine liked his hat, anyway. Sidon didn't like much of anything, though, except the fishsticks Sabine mentioned were in the freezer. Lana, it seemed, just wanted to know if all this snow and power failure was normal.

In TOWN, Kaidan had a productive morning clearing out the snow before losing all sense of accomplishment the moment he was confronted with IKEA instructions.

Zack made sure all the animals were being taken care of at Furnado, where Seivarden stopped in to complain about the weather, get food for her cat, and offer to help if anything comes up regarding Iris's...prolonged business trip.

Eliot wasn't too surprised that some of the staff called off at Luke's, and Kathy came down to check in on him, especially since things are likely to get far worse with this storm before they get any better, and she had the chance to introduce Eliot to the dog she's been watching.

Sparkle found an unexpected bounty of new product at Pick your Poison, where he received a call from Hernando, where they talked about...

...really? People's phone calls? That's almost as bad as the texts.

*chittering*

'Conversations like any other, just with more space between 'em?' Well, I guess that's fair. They talked about concerns about the weather, because...well, I don't need to tell you all about how this place can get. They were able to smooth it over, but it seems nothing will ever smooth over the shock Sparkle received in discovering that there are Pop-Tarts made without frosting.

Fjord--

*chittering*

...yes, I know there's more, but it gets mushy. You know how I feel about mushy notes. That is a perfect place to end that one and move on, and so we will.

Fjord helped me get the Crumbler ready for plowing some of these streets at the Forge...before I realized she'd be needed for generating electricty instead. Fenris swung by, as well, to drop off a scarf and some food and some alcohol for his roommate before making plans to help stave off the cold, which mostly involved a lot of blankets since burning down the hotel is probably not the best choice.

Which I'll use to point out...got a nice warm forge here. Gets mighty toasty in here, and there's plenty of space, if you don't mind being surrounded by all the sharp, pointy bits.

Bobby at least got a chance to enjoy all this snow in the park, which included dancing ice golems, which left Fenris feeling a bit...err..well, bewildered, let's go with that, before he took the opportunity to really show those ice golems how to do spirit fingers properly.

...really? That's the note I'm getting left with at the end? That's the one that's going to be stuck in my hea--

*LOUD CRASH*

Zounds, what was tha--

*comical springing sounds*

--that's coming from the shop! Someone's down--

*clattering, whistling of steam*

Zards! Quick! The Crumb--!
