Good morning again, this is Seivarden Vendaai, and since you couldn't refrain from doing things yesterday that the squirrels find worthy to report, they woke me up this morning. I've had worse arrack than their rum, though.

 

At school Tony Stark and Captain Rogers -- does he have a ship or is he just pretending to be a captain? -- taught Lies Your Other Teachers Told You. They talked about how the Founders of this country are seen as heroes while also owning slaves. I'm actually going to bring that up the next time someone complains about the Radchaai. 

 

Tip talked about racism against black people. WHAT?! Bobby brought up the bad excuse that things happened in the past. Khadgar thought it's hard for people to change their minds. Norman agreed that making excuses for your heroes is a bad thing.

 

Music Appreciation talked about songs about home. I really don't want to be reminded of those, they just make me cry.

 

Breq thought they might be the result of people being driven from their lands. Of course they aren't. Summer talked about songs where your home is, quote 'lame'. If that is how you see your home I feel sorry for you, Summer.

Jono envies Hannibal being able to drink coffee. I feel sorry for you, Jono, even if my preferred drink is tea.

 

I am pleased that nothing happened in the dorms, although if that was actually true that is a little disturbing.

 

There was a cooking contest at the Trooper Station. That's not how security works where I'm from, but I shouldn't been surprised, really.

 

In the park Kanan was playing with a stick and something called a lightsaber. I don't know what that last thing is but I'm sure it makes a nice toy.

 

Rey, who is probably from some really remote place, shows up to gawk, and Kanan clearly likes showing off in front of the kids and boasting about being something called a Jedi.

 

Tip shows up for training -- please Tip, you seem sensible, learn how to use a gun instead, that is actually of some use -- and Kanan tells her he likes the sound of raindrops against his lightsaber.

 

Right. Also, kids, I need to warn you, if Kanan brings his friend-turned-animal to the park, stay away. Far away.

 

That's all the news, and sadly, as I have to work I can't have that bottle of rum. You people anyway don't order whole bottles, I've been told. Why?
