Konbanwa and good evening, Fandom. This is Hoshi Sato your daily dose of gossip from around Fandom Island. I'd like to send a special greeting to all the new kids, especially the ones I haven't met yet. Last time I was here, it was because my dog ticked off the squirrels by chasing them. This time, I'll be competing for one of the open broadcaster positions, so if you like what you hear tonight, will you please vote for me? So, without further delay, let's get to the news.

Announcement, Tuesday Morning

Cable had gotten Sheriff Cooper's memo early that morning, and after some consideration, he'd made his way down to the radio station to deal with it.

"This is Mayor Summers," he said, "As you're no doubt all aware by now, the island is currently suffering a cessation of laundry labour. While I understand that this might be a little frustrating, keep in mind that every single sentient being has the right to a fair and peaceful strike." A short pause. "I don't want any violence against washers or dryers on this island."

Chalk that up with the things he never thought he'd ever have to say (and he was fairly sure some of them would wind up having to be replaced no matter what he cautioned). "Buckle down and sit it out. We've got it. Thank you."

If all else failed, there were always curtains.
