Fandom Radio, March 9

Lacey: Evening, Fandom -- hope we're all back to normal!

Katchoo: For those of you who ever were, anyway. . . . Lacey, it's Fandom.

Lacey: Oh, well, thanks for that lesson in How Not To Be Tactful, Miss Manners.

Katchoo: Oh, go *feedback*--lf.

Classes

Lacey: You know, I really wonder what kind of answer you would've given to the question in Magical Ethics today, since they were discussing the subject of respecting their elders -- and mostly agreeing that respect can be lost. I think "misplaced" sounds a little less harsh. And presumably, their TA Tony and Alysha, who might not have been showing her phone the same level of respect. In other subjects my cohost is not qualified to discuss, Ethics covered diligence, temperance, and forgiveness. If you asked her to summarize the lecture, it'd probably just get bleeped. It'd be a whole bleepathon. Which isn't nearly as interesting as the actual class discussion about whether anyone planned to seek forgiveness for things they did over the weekend. Oh, and of course, Griff the TA and Anakin were available as needed. Possibly for that forgiveness thing . . .

*several seconds of dead air*

Katchoo: Lacey. Lacey. LACEY. GOD. SNAP OUT OF IT. Oh, screw it. Monomyths is on to stage five of the masculine and feminine journeys this week -- makes it sound kinda like a reality show. During the lecture, Jaime wanted to know if a heroine could surrender during her journey. My question is, do the heroes ever? Or is that like asking for directions?

Lacey: Do you ever ask f--

Katchoo: Anyway, they watched a movie, Anemone and Blysse did their TA thing, and Cindy filled Max in after class on spending her weekend as a killer cyborg.

. . . our weekends put most people's 'What I Did For My Summer Vacation' reports to shame. Concepts of Law and Justice got Alex's lecture on Blackstone versus Bismarck, punishing the innocent versus freeing the guilty, and what kind of evidence juries get. Hopefully George and Karla got some of that in between the look-trading and note-passing, and Roy and Dinah with the paper-airplane tossing. Geez, kids. Fun discussion time on what system you'd rather live under and what proves guilt beyond reasonable doubt ensued, Karla did her TA thing, and Roy talked to Alex after class and found out she's back to herself. Does that go for everybody? Typical Fandom weekend then.

Living With Difficult Women got to pair up and talk about their lives. Or live a morning talk show, just with more lecturing. I can't decide. No, I guess that'd be more Halpert's class. Oh well. At least there were options for private or in-class discussions, along with the usual talk to Max option.

Lacey: And in library news today, Anemone spent her shift writing letters, and Henry got a visit from Merlin to . . . find out that Arthur's sword is at the bottom of the pond. Oops.

Katchoo: *7.931 straight seconds of uncontrollable laughter* Man, that's just special. Kinda like Fraser finding his wedding catalogs all scribbled in.

Dorms

Katchoo: So let's see. Water is wet, the sky is blue, and fighting reserves had their weekly meeting. With celery sticks instead of snacks. Huh. That part's new. Not the hanging out, though. That's unsurprising. And Ino took advantage of it to check up on Jen Walters about what was apparently a pretty crappy weekend for her. Some people probably had a crappy meeting if they expected to be doing something that wasn't discussing what we do when our friends turn into enemies or just weird frikkin' people. The reserves guys were around, and weirdly non-bouncy Zack got a pep talk from Arthur . . . it's not that weird, squirrel, stop laughing . . . and a hug from Dinah. Okay, maybe it is -- since now these notes say Arthur and Jacob got into it over Jacob going out with Morgana. So much for the side effects of that peptalk. Oops. No wonder Arthur had a headache after the meeting. By which I don't mean Merlin dropping by.

Lacey: Oops. File under 'This Is News?' Dru woke up early and eventually went back to bed. Kate came to check up on Alice and her kitty. It's apparently a new thing. Momoko had Warren Worthington come to explain that her friend Who was here over the weekend was actually him. That's not supposed to make sense to me on the first time out loud. Oh well. Savannah was in her room having issues with . . . stuff? Yeah.

Katchoo: Right.

Town

Lacey: Quiet day for the most part. Or a good day for being lazy outside MHA if you were Loki. Stark Industries, Fourth Dimension, Photo Hut, Book Haven, Covent Garden Flowers, Cabot and Associates, the Gig, a breakfast-food free Cafe Fina, and Dite's Decadent Delights were all open but, as far as the squirrels know, sadly unvisited. I feel like I should go on about civic duty but the squirrels have acorn slingshots. Tony Foster was at the Boards getting a bucket of gluewater dumped on him. Sounds fun. My favorite boys' club, Kyle, George, and Bobby, met up at my diner to have lunch and . . . give Bobby a hard time. That might be along the same lines as Emma and Jack Priest's conversation in the park about Jack being in love with Rose over the weekend, which didn't impress Emma somehow.

Down at the Trooper Station Gibbs found his desk covered in Coors stuff, and Ralph found his head smacked in retaliation. Somehow, at a very clean Turtle and Canary, Didi and Jaime started out by talking about why their room isn't this clean, and got to the subject of black holes under the bed. Jono's shift at Groovy Tunes got him a visit from Didi, who apologized for being creepy at him and kissing the vice-principal and boy, am I glad my weekend was quiet.

Katchoo: You're gonna want someone to walk you home now that you've told the whole town that. Atlas Gym had Rose training with Dimitri, and . . . this note's got all kinds of weird diagrams on it that I'm gonna say are the squirrels' weird-ass way of saying that the whole thing was a giant detailed visual metaphor for . . . yeah. And over at Caritas --

Lacey: Eeeeeeeee.

Katchoo: Robin was watching American Idol. Oh, bad idea.

Lacey: I can't disagree. Lulu had Captain Price over for a home-cooked meal, and oh -- Sam and John Winchester were discussing the finer points of being Lucifer and Michael over the weekend.

That's . . . I couldn't top that if I tried.

Katchoo: Or ever.

Lacey: Hey.

Katchoo: *snicker* Night, everybody.
