Fandom Radio, November 17

Lacey: Hi, everybody! Happy Tuesday! Lacey Burrows here, along with my cohost Katc--

Katchoo: *ahem*

Lacey: -- you know what? I'm having a little trouble connecting to FarmVille right now and I'm worried my crops are going to wither if I get back too late, so maybe we should get right to it.

Katchoo: Not gonna see me arguing, even if you have the dumbest reason ever.

School

Lacey: So Classical Genre today? All about spy fiction. I love that stuff. Even if some of the reboot things are a little weird.

Katchoo: Not according to Rick's lecture.

Lacey: Yes, well. It was pretty much an excuse to ogle James Bund in swim trunks anyway, while Rick did some mysterious scribbling.

Katchoo: Hey, Helen was a cheerful TA today.

Lacey: Not unlike some people who were in a good mood yesterday.

Katchoo: I have rum and I know how to get the squirrels to picket your diner again if I have to. Fandom Versus the Real World covered Fandom invasions, the annoying and mostly harmless kind, with the usual lecture and some discussion about vegetable-fighting last week. Hey Lacey, how's the salad supply doing?

Lacey: Um. How about let's mention Azula apologizing for missing classes because she got called home, instead?

Katchoo: I'm sure she'll love you talking about that, yeah. Oh, look, Sex Thru the Ages discussed modern-day prostitution. There's a real fun subject. Especially when there's handouts with the lecture and talking about why somebody'd choose to do that.

Lacey: Wow, I almost wish I could've listened in on that discussion.

Katchoo: And that makes one of us. Kirk and Algren were around in case anyone wanted to ask 'em what the hell they were thinking making that the topic.

Lacey: Oooh, Anyone Can Cook did crepes today. Those are so much fun. And planning holiday courses -- I still don't get why you guys have Thanksgiving so late -- before actually making crepes. Colette got a muffin from Kate as an apology for missing class, and Priestly talked to her the possibility of being a sous-chef for making the Thanksgiving dinner.

Katchoo: Maybe he's angling for a raise.

Lacey: I think he might get one, the intrepid little TA. Jean didn't have a muffin for Colette, but she was apologizing for missing class too. Because she was a bird.

Katchoo: It's just goin' around lately, I swear. Like missing classes, since Sam Winchester apologized for doing that too. Because his boyfriend -- *feedback* Sorry, Sam.

Lacey: Me too. And, um . . . let's see. Anemone was going through astronomy books at the library. Down in the gym was the college fair Doctor Sweets was hosting, with representatives from the South Harmon Institute of Technology, Miskatonic University, and Crazy Go Nuts University, unless you wanted to talk to Sweets.

Katchoo: You missed a page, dumbass.

Lacey: Did not.

*papers rustling*

Katchoo: Uh huh.

Lacey: Oh. Right. World Wars in the Media. Sorry, Mitchell! The media of choice today was a Charlie Chaplin film, with couches and snacks for everybody's viewing comfort and pleasure during the film. Intrepid TA Dinah --

Katchoo: You're really liking this "intrepid TA" phrase now, aren't you?

Lacey: So what if I am? She was there, and in a continuing theme for the week Kate brought Mitchell an apology muffin. On to teachers' office hours, Fred and Summer were in and unbothered.

Katchoo: Not so much for Anakin, who's got the usual party conga line going on outside his office. Might wanna consider installing a dance floor in that section of hallway maybe. Jaina caught him up on stuff with her squadron back home, Raven was there for -- you know, I'm gonna call it her regularly scheduled fangirling session at this point. Tara was there with feedback on his class material, and Sam Winchester came by to talk to him about Peter. So maybe not a dance floor this week.

Dorms

Lacey: This afternoon, Kate was baking the aforementioned muffins in the third floor common room, and Raven got one before it managed to come out that the whole people-in-love-with-her thing was something she did? Oops uh other than that, a quiet night in the dorms, mostly, with Effy spending her night with hot chocolate, a book, and Alex Karev when he came by. Elsewhere in the dorms, Fiona got a phone call, and Liir's caramel-making adventures in the sixth floor kitchen were sidetracked by Ino's pretend attempts to steal his dog.

Katchoo: Yeah, since the real story on the school grounds is the frikkin' Reserves like it always is on Tuesday. Today they stole a page outta the magic reserves' spellbook and started a show-and-tell skills thing. Also there were sandwiches. And socializing, since I think that's like gravity.

Lacey: But a lot harder to pun.

Katchoo: Thank god. Tiny Creepy Kid was twitchy, but that didn't stop her from making plans to spar with Dinah. Arthur got to blab about his experience. *chittering* Forget it, furball, I'm not using that joke, I don't care how funny you think that was. Fine, you wanna stand there while he gets mad at you about it? *chitter!* Thought not. Anyway, Mat argued himself into a duel with Arthur for next week, and discussed staffwork and when to run with Gabrielle. The fearless leader types, if you wanna call 'em that even if I don't recommend it, were there to bug, like Kennedy talking crossbows with Arthur and Ino consulting Zack on what she should teach people. How 'bout that ceiling trick, Ino? Okay, I just think it'd be funny to watch a couple of people I can think of try that, and fall on their asses.

Lacey: You know, your sense of petty vengefulness is impressive, has anyone ever told you that?

Katchoo: Not so cheerfully as you just did. That was terrifying. Things were quiet for Hinata at Book Haven, not so much for Ino on the phone at Covent Garden like Mary caught an employee doing at the Arms, and maybe quiet for Tim at Android's Dungeon, and Oz at Coyote Medicine. Quiet for Lion-O at Cafe Fina, Did at Turtle and Canary, Ellie at The Gig, Cordelia at Pixie Dust, and Jack Burton, who was late for his shift at the Photo Hut.

Rose got a visit from Alex Karev -- this squirrel insists what was going on there was flirting and the other is telling it to shut the hell up -- and Jaina. Dite's Decadent Delights had Raven at work, and Dinah had to explain to her that something wasn't a cat to -- OH GOD ONE OF THOSE. Jono, at Groovy Tunes, got a visit from Beka about music and how she was a dog for a couple weeks. Zach with an H came in, too, to tell Jono he has to go home.

Lacey: There was play rehearsal, too! Like always. The squirrels are, um, how do you put this?

Katchoo: A little fixated on the mingling? They're always reporting on the socializing parts. Put those acorns down. Dinah got to hear about Kate's break and road trip. Ender talked to Jack-with-a-C whose last name's Priest, and Kate said something that will make Lacey even more annoying, about Priestly's sandwiches.

Lacey: Funny how there were still rehearsals though, huh? Tony and the crew were around, and so was Geoffrey, who got a conversation with Sophie.

Katchoo: Tonight's bid for surreal-except-it's-Fandom-so-not-really is a report from the apartment over Wellspring Arms, where Deadpool the dingo got in a fight over cold cuts with Nathan's dog, got caught by Nathan and Jan, and then . . . turned human. And in a little bit of evening news, Maron and Tara hit Chilly Boulder for ice cream to discuss Tara's meeting with Anakin.

Lacey: And Robin (eeeee) was asleep on the job at Caritas, so -- OH MY GOSH Chuck Bass, did you REALLY DRAW A MUSTACHE ON HER? That is so . . . so . . . wrong.

Katchoo: You wanna stop spazzing and go see about those stupid fake farm crops now?

Lacey: OHMYGOSH. What time is -- yeah, time to go. Night, Fandom!

Katchoo: . . . geez, it's fun to watch her freak over that.
