Fandom Radio, Monday, November 17
Sam: Good evening, Fandom. I hope everyone had a good Monday.
Dean: It's Monday. That kinda implies not the best day of the week.
Sam: Every Monday brings us one week closer to the end of the semester.
Dean: Point.
Sam: And I have more classes today than any other day of the week, so it's a good day to me.
Dean: Weirdo.
Sam: Awww, I thought for sure you were going to call me a geek.
Dean: That too.
Sam: That's more like it.
School, where not falling asleep is part of the assignments
Sam: Today was a very media-friendly day at school. The Care for Magical Creatures class watched a movie about dragons, to prepare for the possibility of meeting some next week, and the Achievements in Engineering class studied the achievement of television by watching some and trying not to fight over the remote.
In The Art of War, the students discussed how their mission from last week went, before talking about gaining ground and how that can be done in a metaphorical sense, and getting their assignment for this week, which is to spend time outside of class with some of their classmates.
Dean: So their assignment is to... hang out? Weak.
Sam: Hang out and study each other, I think. And maybe see if they can drive each other nuts, knowing that class. Physics class talked about wormholes and black holes, a.k.a. things that suck in a scientifically cool way, and Basics of Alchemy finished the day as it started, with a movie for everyone to watch.
Cal had a fairly quiet day in the library, until Claire came by looking for books on photography. The vice principal was in his office, and got a visit from the mayor, who informed him that there's a new sheriff in town. I'm assuming they actually mean there's a new sheriff, and that's not a metaphor for something weird. Lady Ghanima had quiet office hours today, as did Nathan, and Tyler got a visit from Tony and planned a non-date with him. I really hope they're not trying to fool anyone, because I'd like to think it's unnecessary at this point.
Dean: For some people the labels are very important.
Sam: I suppose. And after classes, the Self-Defense Club had their weekly meeting. This week's lesson was about staying quiet to not give yourself away, and there was the usual stretching before everyone paired up and tried to stay silent at each other. Amber and Hoshi took time to catch up though, and make plans for another Girls' Night Out. There was also plenty of time to hit up the punching bags as well, and Mr. Murdock was there to supervise.
Dorms, where the students are still mostly sane, we think
Sam: Ino worked on her Christmas list, and I guess it's not too early for that, since Thanksgiving is only a week and a half away. And Dean had a date with Peyton and the Impala, and told her about Alec leaving. Which, by the way, you and I are going to talk about when we're done here.
Dean: It was just a drive. Nothing that will make you flail entertainingly.
Sam: I'm not talking about your thing with Peyton.
Dean: Not much to tell about the other.
Sam: I'd still like to talk about it with you, instead of getting all the information from radio notes.
Dean: Nosy squirrels. *pause* No offense guys.
Sam: In this one case, I forgive them for being nosy. Cal watched Rumor Gal this evening up on the second floor, and hopefully came away with his sanity intact. And up on the fourth floor, Hannibal was playing umbrella sock golf, which is apparently exactly as strange as it sounds. Viki wanted to know what Hannibal's socks had ever done to him to be thrown around like that, and he and Amber came up with a historical significance for the game. That's so geeky I'm actually kind of proud.
Teddy and Hannibal flirted and talked about their plans for after graduation, and Chuck tried to convince Hannibal that it would be more fun to play with his monkey. Either the squirrels have gone hard of hearing, or Chuck is even dirtier than Dean. I didn't think that was possible.
Dean: Nah. Bass just has a pet monkey.
Sam: Like, a real monkey?
Dean: Yeah.
Sam: You know, I think that's still kind of dirty. Seriously, who the hell has a pet monkey? Anyway, Adam and Hannibal got caught up, Romeo asked about the "rules" of the game, if there were any, and Eve just wondered if Hannibal had lost his mind.
Dean: I think the answer to that is pretty clear.
Town, which might not be so important if it wasn't where the food is
Dean: Down in town, Chad was chilling with the cats at Groovy Tunes, Bender tried to set up a racetrack at the Gig, Seregil, Lacey did a line dance at Luke's Diner, and Coyote was asleep behind the counter at Coyote Medicine.
Sokka had a sale on gloves at T&C, Teddy bitched about cancelled series over at The Android's Dungeon, and there were flower deliveries for Liir and Reno.
In baby teddy bear news, Liz was busy with her wokling at the Arms Hotel, Worf tried to keep his wokling under control at Wellspring Arms, as did Ender at Stark Industries, where Tony expressed concerns on if it was housebroken. Which is a really good question. Are they?
Sam: It wouldn't surprise me if they weren't.
Dean: And again, let me say I'm really glad Anakin didn't get this idea when we took the class. Joan was having fun with autumn flowers at Covent Garden Flowers, and talked to Penelope who came by to get mums. Cable was having fun with paperwork at town hall, and talked to Dale about the office of sheriff.
Alex had cocoa and sweets at the Magic Box -- and I really am starting to think it's changed from a magic shop to a cafe -- and Hoshi stopped by to talk about going home instead of graduating. Yeah there's a lot of that going around.
Sam: Is there going to need to be drinking when we talk?
Dean: I won't say no to a beer or two. Over at the Trooper Station, Daisy was fascinated by how many cupcakes Ralph was eating. Sarah came by and talked with Daisy about what Daisy did pre-Fandom, and then chatted with the sheriff. Dale and Daisy talked about his new office and Loki was there for more annoying and flirting. Again, not sure the trooper station is the best place for that, but to each their own.
And over at the clinic, Millie was very cheerful as she contemplated her upcoming outing.
Sam: People being cheerful in the clinic is a good sign.
Dean: People being cheerful in an empty clinic is an even better sign.
Sam: Good point. Is that all the notes you had?
Dean: Yep. You?
Sam: Yeah, that's it for me. Come on, I'll go get you that beer.
Dean: It's Monday. That kinda implies not the best day of the week.
Sam: Every Monday brings us one week closer to the end of the semester.
Dean: Point.
