Fandom Radio, Monday, November 3
Sam: Good evening, Fandom, and happy November, even if it doesn't quite feel like it yet.
Dean: We celebrating months now?
Sam: We do when they're the ones around the big holidays.
Dean: So this is really 'Happy Turkey Month'?
Sam: Happy Turkey and Pie Month. I wouldn't dare leave off your favorite part.
Dean: Mmmmm. Pie.
Sam: We're going to have to feed you when we're done, aren't we?
Dean: Or y'know during. I'm easy.
Sam: Well, I didn't think to bring any pie with me, so you'll just have to settle for getting through the notes first.
School Time
Sam: The Care for Magical Creatures class got ready for the soon-to-be hatching of their eggs by spending some quality time with them in whatever way they felt was appropriate. Needless to say, there was a lot of talking and petting and hoping that whatever comes out won't be scaly and poisonous.
Engineering class learned how to appreciate modern appliances by cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry the old-fashioned way, and The Art of War talked about sacrificing something for the greater good through group discussions about two different ways they might have to sacrifice something to win in the end.
Physics class talked about light some more by playing with non-digital cameras and experimenting with lighting where they were taking pictures. And it was a somber Cal who opened the library this morning. Later in the day, the Self Defense Club met, and talked about defensive rolls which, sorry squirrels, are not a kind of food. There was stretching and practice as usual, and Mr. Murdock was there to make sure everyone played safe. After the meeting, Jack flagged Hoshi down, to talk to her about the club.
Vice Principal Deadpool - and no, that never gets less entertaining to say - was busy in his office playing a very important game. Nathan was reading over election materials like someone with a strong masochistic streak, and Tyler worked on e-mail until Ino and Rikku came by to help with posters for the science fair. He also had two visitors in the evening, but it doesn't say who they were.
And in the main office, they were destroying the last remnants of the balloon animals from this weekend. You know this means I'm right about clowns being evil, right?
Dean: So, what? You going to want to go hunt Ronald McDonald next weekend?
Sam: If he comes here to make balloon animals that want to kill us? Yes, I do.
Dean: Dude, if he comes, he better bring a lot of burgers with him.
Sam: Someday, you're going to think about something besides food, and I'm going to die of shock.
Dorms Time
Sam: Ben came home and banged around in his room, until Rikku came to check on the noise and gave him a hug. Because hugs fix everything, apparently. Ino worked on a letter to her dad, and got a visit from Liir-who-is-a-kitten, and Ichigo, who she told about her weekend after assuring him that she isn't mad at him. And Amber was relaxing in her room until Cal stopped by to hang out and talk about the Sex Ed assignment, and somewhere in there, they ended up breaking up. I don't think their parenting skills had anything to do with that, but I could be wrong.
Hurley was cooking up grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, which makes me think I really need to check the common rooms during lunch more often. Jeff came in for sandwiches and talked about breasts, because it's Jeff, but I'm assuming he stopped that line of conversation when Turtle came in for lunch as well. Mac just wanted coffee, lunch of geeks the world over, and she and Turtle talked about the food in the cafeteria too before Turtle pimped Chad's tomatoes to Hurley. I don't think I want to know how that worked, really.
Dean: That does sound more than a little dirty, doesn't it?
Sam: Just a little more, yeah.
Town Time
Dean: Down in town, Chad was busy reading at Groovy Tunes, Liz was on time at the Arms Hotel, and Alex was sleepy and sick at the Magic Box. Y'know, you'd think that place might have some herbal cures or something.
Worf was Worf at Wellspring Arms, which I'm sure we're all glad to hear. Worf being, say, Miss Bennet, might be a little much to handle on a Monday.
Joan put up a themed sign at Covent Garden Flowers, Seregil had apple cider at the Book Haven, and Lacey was dealing with the after affects of a sugar high. Y'know the best way to deal with that? Hair of the dog. More sugar. Works for me.
Bender was trying to remember this election over at the Gig, Tink was sad that the next holidays were less exciting fashionwise at the Pixie Dust, and Buffy enjoyed cider at the Perk. Okay that's two mentions of cider. Now I want some. And an apple pie to go with it.
Sam: When we're done, I promise.
Dean: I'll hold you to that. Charlotte was busy at the York Gallery with posters when Kevin came by to confuse her and talk about his boyfriend troubles. Coyote was sad only tricks happened at Coyote Medicine on Halloween, and Claire came by for some... ah.... exotic herbs. Dude is that what that place sells? Okay, so need to check it out now.
Sam: We're not buying anything.
Dean: Speak for yourself, stick in the mud. Daisy had tea at the trooper station and discussed with Ray the wedding and if it was a con. Can you get arrested for wedding fraud?
Sam: I'm pretty sure you can't, but that doesn't make it any better.
Dean: Cable looked into making a meeting with Mustang -- is this squirrel getting points for how many words in a row they can use beginning with M? -- and there was also a deputy Mayor there.
Teddy was bouncy when he opened the Android's Dungeon for the first time and Chad stopped by with coffee and they chatted about the holidays. Sarah also came by to ask if what they say about Fandom is true. If it's anything other than 'Fandom is your average ordinary town no different than any other,' the answer's probably yes.
Milly was around at the clinic, and Sokka was trying his hand at politics at T&C via squishies, much to Viki's confusion. And Turtle got a squishie for free because she's the owner.
Ender was playing with holograms at Stark Industries, when Ben came by to see if he'd go with him to his mother's... *shocked pause* To his mother's funeral. Oh crap.
Sam: That explains some things, unfortunately.
Dean: Yeah. Listen I'm going to have to take a raincheck on that pie.
Sam: Of course. There could be pie waiting for when you're done.
Dean: Not sure when that'll be, but thanks.
Sam: Hey, it's not a problem, really.
Dean: So if we're done here, I gotta go do my big brother thing.
Sam: That's fine. I think we're done. Go do your thing, it's what you do best.
Dean: We celebrating months now?
Sam: We do when they're the ones around the big holidays.
Dean: So this is really 'Happy Turkey Month'?
Sam: Happy Turkey and Pie Month. I wouldn't dare leave off your favorite part.
