Fandom Radio, Saturday, February 9

Dean: Good evening Fandom.

Sam: This is Sam and Dean Winchester bringing you all the news from today. Judging by the size of our stack of notes, it seems like things were quiet today. I'm certainly not going to complain.

Dean: Neither am I after the last few weeks.

Sam: I could definitely stand a few quiet weeks. Or months. Can we get people working on that?

Dean: I dunno. With our luck it would backfire and we'd all end up asleep for months or something.

Sam: I think I could stand a few days of solid sleep. Not that I'd wish that on everyone, of course.

Dean: Would make for a pretty boring radio for one thing.

Sam: The squirrels wouldn't know what to do with themselves.

Dean: 'less they were asleep.

Sam: Do the squirrels ever get affected by the weird things that go on in town? They might be able to stay awake, in which case we'd probably wake up to find they'd spent every day drinking their own weight in rum.

Dean: That's not much different from now.

Sam: Good point. Here, do you want me to take the first half of the notes?

Dean: Sure, go for it.

School, which actually saw some action today

Sam: Mac opened the library this morning, and for once, there was a detention that I didn't get sucked into after having done nothing wrong. The same can't be said for Reno, Andros, Teddy, Brooke, Lucas, Jenny, and Ron, unfortunately - they got to deal with Professor Bond's obstacle course.

Dorms, which saw an entirely different kind of action

Sam: Troy and Sky had a snuggly morning together, while Luke went to visit Doom to make sure he was all right after yesterday. The squirrels seem displeased with this information for some reason.

Andrew woke up to find Liir playing with his broom, and then they spent the morning making out. Can I just mention how ridiculously happy I am that we won't be doing the broadcast on Valentine's Day? It's going to be nothing but notes like this, I can already tell.

Dean: Really. Besides, I've got better things to do on Valentine's Day. Hopefully not involving any barnyard animals this year.

Sam: ...I think I'd keep us here all night if I tried to pick one comment for that statement.

Dean: Alec was a goat last year.

Sam: In that case, I just hope Meg makes it through the day okay, or I'd start worrying about being cursed.

Dean: Meg's not likely to be pissing off any satyrs so we're probably safe.

Sam: Probably. Brooke complained to absolutely-not-inferior Peter about having to serve detention, and he told her about his powers. Ino and Kabuto had an awkward conversation about how much she'd miss him if he died. And Liir and Andrew spent the afternoon being lazy. There's no mention of broom-playing though, thank God.

Continuing our coupling theme, Evey and Karal went on a date at the stables this evening, and I'm sure it will surprise no one that the squirrels think they were adorable. Jim interrupted Pam's valuable online time by dropping by her room, Ino stopped by Isabel's room and told her that Michael doesn't think anyone would care if he died, and Wyatt stopped by to see her as well.

Luke tried to make breakfast this morning up on the third floor, with the emphasis apparently being on the word tried. I feel your pain, Luke, trust me. Dawn offered to help him, until she got distracted when Luke mentioned that he got kidnapped yesterday. So much for quiet days. I'm going to assume that the attempt at cooking means he's all right, but still - Luke, if you're listening, turn the radio off and get some rest, or I'll have Dawn knock you out with her frying pan and make you rest. She'd totally do it, you know that.

Dean: I can vouch for that.

Sam: She's got good aim too, trust me. During the attempt at breakfast-making, River and Dawn made faces at each other, Jaina and Luke checked up on each other after the whole kidnapping thing, and Makoto offered his help with the cooking as well. Katara took the time to check in on Luke as well, as did Z, who was very thankful to see her roommate in one piece.

River came in hoping to find an edible breakfast, and Jo stopped in to be couple-y with Luke until he told her about the kidnapping thing, and she got all angry and fighty and Jo-like until Luke calmed her down. Maybe I should give her the frying pan instead.

Dean: Because she's not weapony enough already.

Sam: Hey, better for her to use the frying pan than something that will cause lasting damage.

Dean: With Jo, it would probably be in addition to other than instead of.

Sam: Okay, bad idea then, never mind. Over in the gym Dean worked with Karal on some self-defense techniques. Seriously?

Dean: Yeah, seriously. Why wouldn't it be seriously?

Sam: I'm trying to imagine Karal fighting, and it's just not working.

Dean: That's why he asked me to teach him.

Sam: I hope it goes without saying that if you ever want help...

Dean: I'll know who to come to.

Sam: Good. Elsewhere in the gym, Inara worked on some tai chi, and Karal came over to admire what she was doing, and tell her about getting a kiss from Evey. I'll pause for a moment so everyone can awww at him.

Romeo was up on the roof of not-so-much emo tonight, with hot chocolate and a notebook. Jack talked to him about not being able to get his own gun, and Liir came up with his broom, leading Romeo to ask if anyone else has been able to fly on it but him. So far, no one has. But if it turns out that other people can fly on the broom at some point, I can think of someone who definitely needs to take a ride.

Dean: Anybody but me.

Sam: Oh, come on. It always sounds like Liir has a nice time while he's flying. I bet you would too.

Dean: Nope.

Sam: You're never going to get over your fear if you don't face it.

Dean: Tell you what -- I'll fly on a broom the day you go off to clown college.

Sam: Okay, that would be complete overkill.

Dean: I won't make fun of your fears if you don't make fun of mine.

Sam: Fine, I'm sorry. Especially if it'll get you to not talk about clowns again.

Dean: My lips are sealed. Less there was a clown invasion in town today.

Town, where if there was action, we don't want to know about it

Down in town, Renee took off with her gun and keys, while Mike watched basketball and got a phonecall. Wonder if it was from his accidental wife.

Mary advertised romantic getaways and folded towel monkeys at the hotel. Dude, how do you fold a monkey? Wouldn't they like do that monkey screech of annoyance? Though I suppose since she's dating the guy with the giant banana, she might have access to stuff to appease the cranky monkeys.

Kerrigan hung out at the Perk and got brought a muffin by Karal who told her all about how a girl likes him back. She also gave the Librarian tips on breaking in the Perk staff. Kerrigan, I mean. Not the girl who likes Karal back.

Sheriff Mustang was hard at work at the station playing Nintendo. I'm sure that relates to fighting crime somehow. Kerrigan teased him about it and they flirt about strategy.

Jen was at the Pizza Planet and Michael was working at Luke's where he brought Ino stuffed mushrooms.

Gabriel was building a tower of donuts at the church George Michael was at the banana stand, probably not building a tower of bananas.

Sam: That's exactly the sort of insane mental image my evening needed, thank you.

Dean: Happy to oblige. Turtle had a Valentine's Day sale at T&C where G'kar expressed his opinion of Valentine's Day as 'meh' and then discussed insurance and possibly a job. Marco stopped by and Turtle ordered him to buy candy. Guess that's one way to drum up business. Mike asked if there were beer flavoured squishes and told Turtle he'd be by the store often, while Jack might still be at the store becuase he couldn't decide what squishy flavour to get. Dude, that's just sad.

In dating news, Chad and Teddy went out for ice cream and Deadpool and Arashi sparred in the gym and talked about their love of each other's bits. I'd just like to take this opportunity to reassure the girl who likes Karal that while I was sparring in the gym with him there was no bits talk.

Sam: Don't make me have to offer the frying pan to Meg. She could be surprisingly strong.

Dean: Hey I said there wasn't any bits talk!

Sam: I know, and that's a good thing. I just want you to remember that there shouldn't be any ever. Especially with Karal. You might break him or something.

Dean: He's running around kissing girls so it's not like it's not on his mind.

Sam: You don't need to put it on his mind more though, that's all I'm saying.

Dean: Stop acting like sex is a bad thing.

Sam: That's not what I said!

Dean: You don't want Karal to think about it -- kinda implies that it is.

Sam: I meant I didn't--you were talking about bits and--never mind, I'm just going to stop talking now before I dig myself in further.

Dean: Probably wise. At Caritas, D'argo surprised Tino by beating him into work. Adah started doing a scientific interview of D'argo over cheap white wine and G'kar greeted D'argo when he showed up. Marty boggled at then chatted with D'argo and Mary got a drink and told D'argo she was practically living with her boyfriend. So his bananas and her towel monkeys are probably very happy together.

The clinic was manned by Adah during the day and Wilson at night. Lana dropped by to see the latter with a very large envelope.

Sam: I hope there was something in the envelope.

Dean: Doesn't say. Possibly it was empty.

Sam: That could be really mean.

Dean: Maybe it's just a really cool envelope.

Sam: Sometimes I'm just really amazed by your optimism. Do you have anything else to add tonight?

Dean: Nope, I'm good.

Sam: That's pretty amazing too. I guess that's good night then.

"Denial is kind to nobody, Sam," Willow said, rolling her eyes as she listened to the radio.
