Fandom Radio, Saturday, November 17
Sam: Hey everyone. Happy Saturday, especially to those of you who were fresh out of the clinic today.
Dean: Hope you're all feeling better. It's Dean and his brother Sammy the book geek bringing you all the news fit for squirrel gossip.
Sam: It's Sam, and I'm not a book geek.
Dean: Sure you are, Sammy.
Sam: *grumbles* What are you--I haven't done anything bookish all day.
Dean: Just keeping a promise. We can go on with the news now.
Sam: You're such an ass. And a strange ass on top of it.
Dean: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Geek.
School: Where Researching is Done For Another Few Weeks at Least, We Hope
Dean: Mac opened the library. Thursday came in and offered to let her leave. Yeah, because I think we can all agree a day off from the library after all that research is a good thing.
Dorms: Where People are Actually Living Again
Dean: Over in the dorms, Karal rested in his room. Gavin stopped by and they had tea -- which I hope tastes better than what we all drank last night and Gavin was a poet. Luke stopped by to talk too, but the squirrels don't comment on whether he's a poet or not so I'm going with not. Molly and Aravis also stopped by to talk to Karal.
Anenome got a phone call and a visit from Robin the frog. Jaina fell asleep in her room after the memorial and Jack changed in his.
Following the trend of sleeping and resting, Eve rested while playing her music and Savannah rested in her room and wrote emails. Eve stopped by and they talked about illness after effects and how awesome their boyfriends are.
Chris made phone calls while Lana napped. He's happy to see Lana feeling better but admitted to her that he kind of overdid it.
Sam: I think quite a few people overdid it this week, but with everything that was going on, I can't blame any of them.
Dean: Hence all the smart people taking the time to rest up today. Jeff came back from his trip with a pillowcase on his head because of ink on his face. Somehow I don't think the pillowcase is going to draw less attention, dude. Turtle came by and WTF'ed at the ink and Jeff told her about his bad week. Turtle told him about the plague which pretty much trumps almost any other bad week. Jeff shows he has brains inside that pillowcase by going right for the hugging and comfort.
Isabel got an early morning phone call she wasn't happy about. Wyatt and her then talked about Thanksgiving.
Jamie crashed into bed and Peter did some pranking. It doesn't say which Peter but I'm going to take a wild guess and say Parker. Based on the prank history of said Peters.
And John got things from Andrew's room so that Andrew could stay in John's room.
In the second floor common room, Jack made a bunch of pies in honour of Bart and had a sketch of Bart on display behind a burning candle. Okay, I didn't know they were that close and even so... Creepy much? Maybe keep that kinda thing in your room, huh?
Hoshi helped Jack make pies and talked about particle physics and fusion reactors, and reminesced about Bart.
Anemone got on Jack's case for using her strawberries, which he didn't do. Strawberries aren't inherently dirty as bananas but still...
Hoshi then tattled to Anemone about Jack using store bought pie crusts.
Sam: He was making pies for like, everyone. I think we can cut him a little bit of slack when it comes to the crust.
Dean: Hey I'm not making any judgements. About the crusts at least. The sketch and the candle, I might be a little yeah.
Sam: Well, yeah, 'cause that's just weird.
Dean: You're telling me. Up on the fifth floor, Ronan had tons and tons and tons of ice cream in Bart's memory. No sketches or burning candles, just lots of frozen creamy goodness. Eve boggled at the amount of ice cream, but snagged herself a bowl.
Isabel promised Ronan his Christmas present would be a whole lot bigger if he had something sweet and spicy. He gave her chocolate ice cream with sweet chili sauce so I guess his present is going to be really big. They talked about his dream from a couple of nights ago.
Ronan talked Summer into trying a lemon milkshake and they talk about Ireland and pretty boys.
I wandered in and complimented Ronan on turning the CR into an ice cream parlour and we toasted Bart with ice cream. Because he totally would have loved that.
Isabel and me talked about Gracie and the memorial and how Andrew is doing. Not well seems to be the answer. Hang in there Andrew, okay dude?
Charlie greeted Ronan as the Nomadic Celtic Chef and was glad he's okay. And she and I got caught up and talked about.... other stuff.
Sam: What kind of other stuff?
Dean: Y'know... stuff. The kind you talk about.
Sam: Wow. Thank you for making that even more vague. You know I'm going to bug you until you tell me, right?
Dean: Later okay. When only the squirrels can hear instead of all of Fandom. Getting back to the news, Marco had a banana split and Jenny had strawberry ice cream, but only after checking it wasn't radioactive waste and did have sprinkles. Ronan also offered Jack a raspberry sundae.
Neil, freshly returned to the island but subdued because he'd heard the news was lured by hot fudge but declined ice cream in favour of walnuts because ice cream reminded him too much of snow overload.
Sam: Guess that meant there was more ice cream for you, huh?
Dean: It was in memory of Bart. I had to eat enough to make it respectful didn't I?
Sam: *laughs* Yeah, I guess you did.
Town: Where Only the Remnants of the Hospilinic Remain
Sam: In town, Sheriff Mustang checked himself out of the clinic and went home. Aly stopped by for a visit, after deciding that picking the lock was better than knocking. I can think of quite a few people who would agree with that sentiment. And Officer Cooper called to check on the sheriff and let him know how things were going at the station.
Kerrigan had a lazy day, which is something I think we all deserve, and Mary got a mystery voice mail.
Jamie woke up in the park, webbed to his bed, and floating in the middle of the duck pond. That sounds like that was the result of Peter's pranking.
Dean: It does. And see, duck pond. I keep telling you those ducks are evil.
Sam: Why, because they didn't wake Jamie up right after he'd been pranked?
Dean: They were probably plotting to peck his eyes out or something.
Sam: Riiight. Okay, note to self - next time you and I have a prank war, I'm totally involving the ducks somehow. Professors Wilson and Aziraphale spent the morning at the Perk, talking about the holidays which are coming way too quickly in my opinion. Leo opened the Photo Hut, and Jack stopped by to thank him for getting him to the clinic when he was sick.
Sulley opened Turtle and Canary, and Jack came in to buy all the pie-baking ingredients he could, for the common room, I guess.
Mary was back at the front desk of the hotel today. Someone named Renee Montoya checked in, and Mary told her a little about herself, and later, Leo stopped in to check on her.
Caritas is still closed, but the Devil's Nest was open, with Chris at the bar, and a visit from Lana.
Now that our virus scare is over, it seems that the clinic is back in the clinic building. Dr. Troy worked this morning, looking over Adah, who was visited by River, Evie, and Lee. Dr. Wilson had the evening shift, and Adah was still there.
Dean: Hope she feels better.
Sam: Me too. We've had more than enough sick people around here to last for a long, long time.
Dean: Amen to that, dude.
The Memorial Service for Bart Allen
Sam: For anyone who was living under a rock today, Karal held an amazing memorial service for Bart Allen out at Serenity Cove, and a lot of people came by. Peter Petrelli checked up on Katara, Inara greeted her, and Molly gave her a well-deserved hug.
Cassandra and River talked about how they knew Bart, and Anemone thanked Cassandra for something. Cassandra also talked to Jack about death.
Annette and Dick were there, as were Johnny and Savannah, Aravis and Seely, and Billy and Cassandra.
Charlie gave Turtle a Kleenex, and Deadpool tried to lighten the mood by telling Aly about the time he went to his own funeral, and Professor Lyman told Aly that she can't scare him by getting sick again. I can think of a lot of people that could apply to.
Dawn and I discussed my...hey, I do not have a guilt complex. Stupid squirrels.
Dean: If the complex fits, Sammy...
Sam: Oh, bite me. You're not helping.
Dean: I'll get you a book on overcoming guilt complexes.
Sam: Okay, I'm ignoring you now. Bart's guardian Wally came to the service, and Cassandra didn't know what to say to him.
Dean and Meg talked. Anemone talked to River about her pet. Chad prayed while Teddy consoled him.
Fraser talked to Wally about Bart's death, and to Thursday as well.
Charlie and Rodney held hands. Insert your own awwwwwing noise here. Isabel got comfort from Wyatt. Pam and Jim watched quietly from the side, as did Anakin and Luke.
Dean and I talked about Bart. Xander and Bridge were together, and John and Rodney exchanged greetings. Chris comforted Lana before the service, and I used the time to check up on Peter.
Dean: Then there were the speakers. First was Zoe, or Principal Washburn to those who don't share a relative with her. She told everyone that the school lost someone special and that she was proud of the students. Andrew lost track of his notes but did just fine anyhow. Fraser said it's always too soon and encourage the students to finish Bart's canvas.Ronan said Bart was a life force and Christian Troy said survival is what matters even with the loss. Cable hoped this is the last plauge he sees, and Willow honored the victims of 1707. Josh Lyman quoted Psalm 23 and Robin the frog sang Amazing Grace. And I said a word or two.
Sam: They were very good words, by the way. I didn't get a chance to tell you afterwards.
Dean: Thanks. After the speakers, Karal announced the burning of the boat and everybody lit it up with candles. The boat burned and collapsed into the sea.
Sam: And I think it's safe to say that everyone was very glad to see it go. Afterwards, Eve thanked Karal for the ceremony, and Gabriel told Karal he was right. Karal and I talked about the service, and Peter Parker thanked Karal for everything he did over the week, and Inara complimented the service while Molly planned to find him later.
Cable lingered in the back, and non-frog Robin checked on Constable Fraser to see how he's doing.
Katara sat quietly. Annette thanked Andrew for coming to the service, and he had a silent conversation with John Sheppard. Chris offered his condolences to Andrew, and Isabel complimented him on his speech.
Robin had his banjo with him, and Dean stayed to talk to Karal. Why do I have a feeling he said something to you about me and books?
Dean: Because you're a smart book geek?
Sam: Yeah, well I'm a smart book geek who's going to kick your ass when we get out of here. After you tell me about your conversation with Charlie, of course.
Dean: Honestly, just stuff.
Sam: Yeah, not when you sound like that when you say it. I'm all out of notes - what about you?
Dean: Me too. Time to call it a night?
Sam: Seems like it. Have a good night, Fandom, and keep being safe.
Dean: Hope you're all feeling better. It's Dean and his brother Sammy the book geek bringing you all the news fit for squirrel gossip.
Sam: It's Sam, and I'm not a book geek.
Dean: Sure you are, Sammy.
