Fandom Radio, November 29
Hi, Fandom! Happy Monday! Well, I hope it's a happy Monday for you, unless you're a Roughriders fan. If you're an Als fan . . . don't talk to me.
*chittering*
Yeah, so what if I don't know that much about football? I can still cheer!
*chittering*
. . . yes, I at least know which team to cheer for, thank you very much. Even if I don't necessarily know what they're doing.
But since you furry little boozehounds know what everyone else is doing today, let's just stick with that. Okay? Okay.
Classes
Macro-Tactics went over the very important making-and-keeping-allies aspect of winning a war, which involved one-on-one exercises in selling each other on why they should join forces against their enemies! Faramir and Leia seemed to reach a very informed agreement, and Cloud and Karla figured out what they could help each other with. The TAs and Kerrigan were both around, and presumably allies in keeping the class in order. Around the World in Fifteen Weeks got a movie day with a Bollywood take on Regency romance since Bond's feeling under the weather, though hopefully Kyle was in better health.
Personal Weaponry got to learn all about how articulated weapons, like whips and those whirly chain thingies from ninja movies, are fun! To practice with, not hit each other with . . . oh, you know what I mean. If the hitting got out of hand, well, that's what Max was there for, among other things. Food Appreciation learned to appreciate leftovers (with an explanation of why if you were unclear on that), or maybe wax philosophical at John about them.
Gabrielle was reading The Art of War in the library, and while she was confused by it, Henry was in a fantastic mood in his office.
Jaina was in her office where she got food from John Sheppard, who in exchange got to hear about some of her family issues. Sherlock was doing some texting in his office, where he was checking out nicotine patches -- well, that explains so much -- and talking to John Watson -- hi, John -- and William, who got sent on a stakeout as a way to alleviate his boredom.
. . . meanwhile, in the school office, the moose and elk were stacked up inside the glass walls along with all the Thanksgiving leftovers. That can't have been fun for the leftovers.
Clubs
Kappa Kappa Gremlin made a less creative but more moose-and-elk-friendly use of the leftovers by eating them. No idea if that was Zack and Alexander's idea, or Constable Fraser's.
Still. yum.
Dorms
. . . where did you all go? Nico was having trouble writing a letter home and Ariel was talking to her new birthday triops, and that's about it.
Town
What looked like a bad deal for Dani at the Gig turned into a good one when she got a beer keg instead of the horse feed she was expecting, and got to keep the beer anyway when the feed got delivered. Mitchell was at the movie theater with popcorn and It's Not Such a Bad Life -- oooh, I love that movie. At Fixer-Uppers, Ender was dealing with his roommate, Ben, who's currently a kitten and apparently very interested in food. As kittens are. Ralph was trying to foist off some crazy paperwork on Sergeant Angua at the trooper station, and at least I know she got away from that for a while when she came to see me at Luke's. Aww, this squirrel is a 'Riders fan too! That's . . . sweet. If depressing. *dejected chittering* I know. I'm right there with you. Zatanna wasn't having the best day at Turtle and Canary, but I don't know if that had anything to do with the Grey Cup.
Makita was putting Santa hats on the mannequins at Pixie Dust, which is festive and sounds sort of cheerful, and the holiday theme carried over to Dite's Decadent Delights in probably a less innocent way, although Karla's conversation with Ender and Ben-the-kitten was more about vaccines and genetics than anything holiday-themed or less-than-innocent. Joining in on the holiday decorating fun was the staff at the Arms, which meant Quinn was keeping busy. Claudia was pretty busy at Book Haven, talking about possible Special Collections adventures -- among other subjects -- with Scully and talking to William about . . . something. I don't know what, but I think the squirrel just wrote "DUN DUN DUN" on this piece of paper.
Rosalind was in the park, looking contemplative according to my reports. Quinn came by on her work break and talked to Rosalind about holidays and culture shock and restlessness -- is that a theme today? -- and how sometimes there really isn't a lot to do in Fandom. Jacob, who didn't seem to notice that he's a little underdressed for the weather, teased Rosalind a little bit and talked about Reno with her. Not the city. The teacher. Dolf was in the park, too, having a little conversation with Rosalind, and this explains why the dorms were so quiet.
. . . okay, not really.
At the clinic, Ino had hot chocolate, always a good choice this time of year.
Genesis was out on the beach practicing swordwork, where Zack found him. This turned into one of those good ol' Fandom discussions where you realize you're not from the same point in time, and someone freaks out, and . . . a fight breaks out. That part's not always required for these conversations, but it happened here.
At Caritas, Jake wasn't having timeline issues with Tino -- just taking it out on him that he doesn't have Thanksgiving leftovers. That's because Thanksgiving was last month, Jake. If you still had leftovers, I'd be surprised.
You know what else we don't have leftovers of? Notes. Looks like that's all for tonight, folks, so until next Monday, this is Lacey Burrows for WTFH, signing off. Night, everyone!
