Fandom Radio, November 1
Hi, Fandom, and happy day after Halloween! Boy, it looks like it was an eventful one for some of you, wasn't it?
*squirrel snickering*
. . . I don't want to talk about it, no. So let's see those notes, shall we? Yes.
School
Since Kerrigan wanted to know if her Macro-Tactics students did their homework today, not that this got them out of a lecture or discussion about what they learned from the exercise, let's hope the answer was yes. Otherwise they'd have to answer to Kerrigan or the TAs. Food Appreciation got to watch a video about cheesecake while eating chocolate, then discuss the most superior form of cheesecake, which means that yes, John was trying to teach them to appreciate dessert. Who doesn't appreciate dessert?
Personal Weaponry, despite getting lectured on the use of longbows and crossbows today, hopefully did not use dessert for target practice. Hopefully. Right, Max?
Over in the library, Gabrielle was staring at some unintelligible piece of parchment until Scully came in with her roommate Rosalind, who's currently a fox, and got more than she bargained for when she asked about books on magic when Gabrielle babbled some insane convoluted version of ancient history at her.
In the teachers' office wing, I have no reports on what exactly Jaina was doing in her office, but she was reportedly in a good mood so that's good, right?
. . . and I'm not asking what the giant moustache clippers had to do with moose cleanup in the school office. Really, really not asking.
Clubs
French Club, under the supervision of Henry and his supply of extra candy, recovered from yesterday's sugar high while learning about making excuses. In French. As you do in French Club. Kappa Kappa Gremlin took the low-key approach, too, and while you could mingle you could also play cards, and Constable Fraser was even okay with them gambling for candy. So, maybe less surprisingly, were the club heads.
Dorms
Gosh, was everyone crashed out from too much sugar and/or trauma? Sure, Jaime got more candy from Momoko, but that came with a conversation about the fight he had with Dinah. And Bruce was watching a movie about flamboyant masked swashbucklers, or one of them anyway, in the fifth floor common room, but he had popcorn, not candy. Elphaba didn't miss the candy either, since she was looking for apples, but when she asked about the movie she got a psychoanalysis of the hero from Bruce. Wow, that's . . . talk about things you won't get on IMDB. Rilla and Bruce sympathized about their strange Halloween experiences, and Bruce told her that she could probably blame Fandom, not America, for her waking up on a cliff. Elphaba got to hear about Rilla getting kidnapped by a dragon before said waking up on a cliff, and no wonder you people haven't been up to much today.
Town
Ender was at Fixer-Uppers, where his weekly conversation with Ben was all about what happened in Kaeleer over the weekend, and . . . not very pleasant. The troopers at the station had stomachaches from too much candy, and Angua, I think you're allowed to be smug about that. Medusalith was . . . petting her hair a lot, at Fourth Dimension. At the Arms Hotel, Quinn was overseeing the Halloween decoration removal -- just in time to start for Christmas! *chittering* Huh? Oh, right. You guys observe Thanksgiving so late here. That first, then Christmas. That's still weird. I was not suffering from any sort of post-pumpkin trauma at Luke's Diner, no matter what my staff will tell you. I was not.
Dani was hunting down the source of the draft -- not the beer, not those cute Clydesdale horses, not those sports lottery thingies, just the air kind -- at the Gig, and while Claudia used her Book Haven shift to recover from Halloween like Zatanna was doing at Turtle and Canary, Alex Russo was at the Magic Box with leftover candy. Makita had leftover candy, too, but she was putting it to use by experimenting with Sweet Tarts and vodka at Pixie Dust. And you can rest assured that there were no glitterbombs at Strokes of Genius today -- nope, just a new shipment of sparkly paints that Jane was unpacking.
Maybe Jake could have used sparkly paints to help celebrate signing his divorce papers at Caritas tonight. Because really, that's all that happened today.
So . . . until next Monday, Fandom, have a good night, and get over those sugar headaches soon!
