"And now the end is near, and so we face the final curtain...that song is depressing, so I'll spare you the rest, but you should keep in mind there's our fair share of goodbyes today.
There's nothing going on at the School, so let's move on to the den of despair and debauchery. I mean, of course, the dorms.
Dorms
Jak is headed home, which he told Dinah. Dinah wanted to make sure they could keep in touch. Safe journeys, Jak!
Francine and Katchoo - bless you - are off to Missouri, but not before their friends have a chance to say goodbye. Dinah asked where the intrepid duo are headed to next. Tara was having trouble coping with them leaving for good, but Katchoo insisted that they'll be back. Firekeeper was going to make Blind Seer sit on Francine to keep her from going. Dinah tried to get in on the Missouri action to no avail, and Tara asked the important question: why Missouri? Why indeed? Maybe they're starting off on the Oregon Trail. Or going to see the Gateway Arch. Maybe they're just big fans of Harry Truman. Enjoy Missouri, ladies.
Jo was packed and ready to head off to greener pastures. Okay, Nebraska, so less green pastures. Is Nebraska green? I always imagined it as brown. It sounds like a browny-colored kind of word. What was I saying? Ah yes. Nebraska. Edmund was there to see her off, but not before he ran outside to talk to a lion cub who told him he could go home too. Doesn't anybody use the telephone these days?
Rose is amongst the soon to be ex-Fandom residents and was trying to get rid of some of her clothes. I'd call her a typical woman, but she knows where I live. Jack Priest knew her time was up and gave her a call to say goodbye. Alex Karev didn't try to flirt with Rose, sound the alarm, but did flirt with her friend Lissa by proxy. False alarm, stand down. Kennedy tried to put her foot down about everyone leaving, but it bounced right back up. They had a special moment. A girlish moment, I'm sure, with tears and hugging and possibly even swooning. Someone get the smelling salts! Jacob told Rose she smells, gave her a hug and they bantered until it was time for him to go. Elena took up the free clothes offer. I don't blame you, Elena, Rose is a snappy dresser. She's not a quitter though, which Elena asked her about. Kyle lamented having to look after Bond alone with Rose gone and insisted she keep in touch. Rose made sure Edmund would keep in touch to answer any and all questions she might have about behaving herself in front of dignitaries. Elle wasn't ready to let Rose go, but settled for visiting from time to time. Emma stopped in to show her displeasure and pick up a few things to wear. Told you, snappy dresser. And last but certainly not least, Jaina got an explanation about why Rose was giving away her clothes. Rose, it was a pleasure examining your head. May you remain headacheless and fashionable for the rest of your days!
Aha! In non-departure news, Gabrielle is back, helping to balance out Fandom's population. I suspect time strangeness because she had to check the date.
Out on the Deck, Didi had a quiet cup of tea. I feel like I should say that in a British accent, but I won't subject you to my attempt at one. Ah. More going away news. Potentially. Didi had a bad feeling that she told Raven might mean going away permanently. Needless to say, Raven was in denial and I don't mean the river in Egypt. Jacob wondered aloud whether he should lead with announcing he's a werewolf to his new little sibling this weekend. He didn't like the sound of Didi going away either. Delirium had that feeling about Didi too which led to hugs and tears. I'm not liking the bad feeling I'm getting about this news. Dinah told Didi that the Dinah and Jaime relationship is not to be since they're not going to try long distance. Good luck, Didi, wherever you end up.
Let's talk about something happier to break up the farewells. I have crying squirrels here. Here, take a tissue. Blow your nose. While you're doing that, I'll talk about the slumber party the girls had on the sixth floor. Leda had a new hairstyle but told Karla she'd opted out of leopard spots. This turned the conversations to prostitutes and brothels. Is 'leopard spots' a euphemism now? I need to keep up with the slang. Delirium was happy to be there, and got a hello from Hinata. Karla promised Raven that there wouldn't be any kissing going on at the party.
Dinah brought cake to soften the blow of the news that she's leaving on Friday. Lindsay let slip the news that she's here for the long haul. My condolences. Or congratulations. Ask me again closer to exam time. Ino had Lindsay play a name guessing game. You're way off, Lindsay. Ino is not Kim, though I may start calling her that on the clinic paperwork now. Rilla and Karla had a delightful conversation about crochet and not croquet like I first read it as. Ino, or Kim to her friends, reassured Rilla that not knowing anyone wasn't a reason to be nervous.
Sookie brought brownies, which made her popular with Karla and Ino. Diana left Samuel out of the party. No idea if that made her popular. Hoshi got a gift of a Fandom High commemorative t-shirt from Karla. Leda introduced herself to the soon to leave Hoshi, the leaving part of which Hoshi told Hinata about. K-Mart was calmed down about her slumber party inexperience by Karla. Ino wasn't happy about the party being girls only, so she talked to K-Mart about boys.
Karla told Elle about the time she blew up a kitchen. Then Elle met Hinata. Dinah's cake earned Hinata's favor and a t-shirt from Karla. Dinah tried to set Hinata and Jaime up on a picnic date. Azula decided the cake was sinful, but I can't tell whether that's supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing. It's cake. Let's go with good.
Quinn asked K-Mart for the gossip on who she should get to know. Karla was apparently on the list. She also asked Ino if she'd seen Zack. The notes cast suspicion on why Karla was asking. You know the night is getting on when Ino's hair becomes a topic of interest. Karla tried to get Hinata and her cat to sing. Ellie was there too! No idea about her singing but she did see Hoshi. Maladicta proved herself the partying type by showing up.
Hinata found out Asuna helped with the animals when everyone was disappearing. There was food galore, including a drink called Amp that was Leda's choice. Games were enjoyed by all, like truth or dare, I Never and reading from a trashy romance novel. That's not a game. That's a Sunday night.
Town
Drum roll please! Busineeeeeess roll call! Alexander learned geography via an atlas at Things Reborn. Shelley was shaking her groove thang - I heard that on TV and I'm never saying those words again - at Pixie Dust. Ino was drawing at Wellspring. Lion-o rustled up a few smoothies at Luke's Diner. Shunsui redecorated at Turtle & Canary. And K-Mart did inventory at Nast Sporting Goods.
Raven and Andy went on a date at Chilly Boulder. Ice cream makes for a good summer date. It has the intimacy of a meal without worrying about which fork to use.
Another goodbye? I thought we were done with those! No, no, apparently Dimitri was ready to leave our fair shores too. Shelley made him tell her why he has to go and Dimitri tried to convince her to remember to lock the door and wear clothes. Spoil sport. Jaina stopped by to ask him about Rose and her soon to be teaching stint.
Last goodbye. That's it! No more! In fact, the only thing I have left to report is Hannibal's last shift at Caritas. He's not gone yet so it doesn't count as a goodbye. Angela was there to be a barfly like usual on Wednesdays. Jessica, who's new to town, came in search of a job.
And that's it. To everyone leaving this week, be good. If you can't be good, have fun and make sure to tell all your friends back here about it. This is Hawkeye Pierce, signing off for WTFH pirate radio. Tata!"
