Fandom Radio- July 5
Adrian: Hello, Fandom. Look at me being completely normal this week.
Dimitri: That’s Adrian Ivashkov, back from his week living as a rodent for those who missed the news. Are you feeling more kindly toward the squirrels after becoming one of their kin?
Adrian: I will pay you exorbitant amounts of money to never mention that again.
Dimitri: Hmm. I’ll consider the ethics of that while we read through these notes and get back to you.
SCHOOL
Adrian: And to everyone who had last week off from classes... hope you enjoyed it, because we’re right back where we started: introductions. For instance, Terrain class started with having to make fire and cook hot dogs, and also had introductions. And then we have a class now called Day After Doomsday. That sounds optimistic. Reno showed the students the end of the world, which Ino talked to Madison and Cloud about it, and Quinn got a plug in for her future celibacy club while asking Kennedy if this class is normal here. Quinn might not end up too popular. Of course there were introductions, and Ino and Chloe stopped by to talk to the teacher after class.
Adventure Games is going to be about having fun and thinking much, so today was about trust falls. I’m sure no one was thinking about how they were going to fall down at all. There were more introductions. Private Investigation class met outside for introductions after a lecture, and oh look, Aquaman is back with Home Ec. They got to make dioramas after a lecture, and apparently Hinata expected a less insane class. Someone didn’t listen to radio last session. Introductions mean that I wish I’d started a drinking game with the squirrels, and in fact, I think I’ll just have one large drink to make up for the rest of it. Finally, Art of Adaptation started out talking about creating a cover identity, and they decided to throw me a curveball and introduced themselves with fake names. I’m going to drink anyway.
Dimitri: I don’t think anyone was worried about you staying sober.
Adrian: Didn’t want anyone to think this last week had changed me. Office hours were quiet, except for Professor Farnsworth having some issues with his class rosters, and Henry was doing something with magazines in the library. I’m going to let you draw your own conclusions there only because the real note is too boring to end my segment on.
DORMS
Dimitri: Since it’s the first day of classes, Asuna started the day with coffee for all in a common room. Adrian’s human twin Jonas tried it for the first time, managing not to explode with a caffeine rush. James agreed with Asuna that dorms are greater than the cabins and he told Jonas about why he came to Fandom. Leda and James discussed the existence of coffee while Maladicta informed Asuna that Igors are not coffee talk. Hmm...it seems our squirrel here believes Alexander needs no more coffee despite him being polite with Asuna. Alexander, I would suggest ignoring the squir-- *thunk*
Adrian: I would suggest ignoring the squirrel is impossible if you don’t want anything thrown at you. Like so. That was hilarious, though.
Dimitri: For you, I’m sure it was. Let’s see what else your fuzzy-tailed cousins have for us to read. *papers shuffling* Bows and arrows are the sport at the range tonight as Kat...Katnice got in some practice. Quinn put the dorm gym to good use practicing her own cheer leading skills while Scully got an eyeful. Perhaps she also spotted the advertisements Kennedy spent time pasting up in the dorm hallways.
TOWN
Dimitri: I’m not sure how tearing up a room equates to packing, but that’s what the squirrels say Cindy was doing at the Arms Hotel today. It seems Jaina has moved in across the hall from me and John visited for...let’s call it talking and annoy the squirrels with our vagueness. Martha was confused by the appearance of a Doctor in the park.
True friendship was at work at Stark Industries when Tahiri brought kitten!Ben to visit Ender. Angua worked to endear herself to the squirrels at the Trooper Station by mediating their issues with the chipmunks. As much as this surprised Reese it was Gibbs who insisted he hadn’t seen the mediation.
The community project was ongoing with help from Jo and Jack Burton. Plenty of flowers planted, I’m guessing. Let’s hope the weather continues to cooperate with their beautification endeavor. Alex combated the day’s heat with iced coffee at the Magic Box and Ashley set to work ignoring the heat by testing out all of the equipment at Atlas. Quite the all-day task, but it means I don’t need to do the same for a while so I send my thanks to Ashley.
Adrian: Over at the hat store, Irulan had issues printing out an article on how to wear summer hats. Here I thought they went on your head. James was drawn in by the hats, which got them talking about Ghanima, Jane worked on a sketch at work, and Didi had to convince Apu that she’d changed her days. Believe her, Apu. I don’t believe a lot of high schoolers go to work for fun. Price may have changed his own days for fun. I don’t know for sure. Gunn brought his Home Ec diorama to work at the law office, and Lacey themed Luke’s. Guess the holiday. The squirrel couldn’t. Angua was happy to see the specials looking normal, and Francine got herself a job. Scully also came in and got to talking about squirrels. She apparently didn’t ignore them, because she didn’t get hit with anything.
Dani had a help wanted sign at the Gig, Mini-Morton was at Dite’s with a note from Karla, and Angela was kind of sort of job hunting at the Perk. But Hoshi was there talking about shaking things up some, and Piper couldn’t see why people drink hot drinks in the summer, so I don’t know how much work Angela actually got done. Maybe she should have gone to the clinic, where Ino got some studying do- Nevermind, she got a visit from Cloud. And of course I was at Caritas with the usuals, who weren’t getting hit with anything while we were there.
Dimitri: I’ve decided no amount of money is worth conveniently forgetting you were a gerbil. Did you want me to keep your wheel handy or should I bring it by your room?
Adrian: I never said it had to be convenient forgetting...
Dimitri: Don’t think you can compulse me into forgetting.
Adrian: I would never do such a thing and should be offended. I’m not, but I could be.
Dimitri: I’m sure the listeners are offended for you.
Adrian: Good. And on that note, we should be signing off right about now. You sure you don’t want to forget?
Dimitri: Positive.
