Fandom Radio, February 9
Lacey: Evening, Fandom! This is Lacey Burrows, and it smells fifty percent less appetizing in here tonight.
Katchoo: Always knew you thought more highly of me than you were letting on.
Lacey: Consider it a one-time-only event.
Katchoo: Any more'n that would just be disturbing, anyway.
Classes
Lacey: And we don't want you disturbed, oh, no. So let's just talk about Magical Ethics and their lecture and discussion about what rights people with powers should have. Tony and Edmund did their TA thing, Raven filled Tony in and apologized for freaking people out, and Alysha was around if anyone wanted to talk to her.
Katchoo: Ethics did the traditional fun-filled field trip to a Hutt's palace, there to be toured -- Jean let Bruce know she was grossed out by the place -- unless you wanted to talk to the people hanging out there, or to Jabba. Leia had to ask Anakin what the point of the whole thing is, but she didn't ask Griff the TA. Monomyths covered the whole heading-out part of the feminine journey, with the usual lecture and context, and talking about why the feminine journey means losing all your stuff while the masculine one means collecting a bunch of crap.
Lacey: Oh, kind of like that game where you roll around the ball and it gets bigger and bigger while you --
Katchoo: Not really, no. Okay, maybe. Anemone and Cindy were around, y'know, the way the TA and teacher thing works. Concepts of Justice covered double jeopardy --
*Jeopardy! theme starts playing, early 80s style*
Katchoo: -- NOT LIKE THAT, STUPID PLAGUEBEARING RATS. GEEZ. Take better notes next time, god. People argued about retrying people for the same crime, technicalities to that whole double-jeopardy problem, or tried to do extra credit based on some movie. Kurt was on TA duty, and Alex Cabot got Joan's explanation of why she missed class last week.
Lacey: Dealing With Difficult Women . . . who are not my cohost . . . heard about how to approach a leader, case in point Ghanima, who volunteered to help today. Max's group talked about living under authority, and Ghanima's group covered being in charge. Speaking of which, Max might've been able to answer some questions about that! Although maybe not about the misshelved books in the library, where Henry was playing chess in his office.
Katchoo: Over in his office, Mitchell got a visit from Kate, which isn't news, and Ghanima, who had beer and movies to share before they got to the introductions. Woo.
Dorms
Lacey: Reserves went for the old tried-and-true sparring session today, but as if you could stop people from mingling? Like Fiona, who talked to Leto but wouldn't quite talk to Leto about something bothering her, or Illyria and Merlin brainstorming ideas for invasion drills. Or talking to the guys, like Arthur, who got promised a lot of written notes and things by Fiona, and Leto, who did an awkward job of comparing ideas with Arthur.
Katchoo: Jennifer was running the Student Council tickets-and-flowers sale, and had Leda come to buy a ticket. Tonight up on the third floor, Liir was making . . . heh. Oral Sex.
Lacey: . . . what?
Katchoo: That's what the cookie recipe's called.
Lacey: No, that's not what -- I mean -- wow, that's graphic, squirrels. I don't need it illustrated for me!
Katchoo: It's just the name, Lacey, god. Joan got weird about the name when she found out, and probably weirder when Hayley called Liir the father of her baby and then acted twelve at him when she found out the names of the cookies. The robot babies from Ethics last semester -- Wait, was that a spoiler alert for the kids in there now? Oops.
Lacey: And Jonas's reading time was interrupted by his roommate Codex coming in with boxes, because she's packing up and going home. Aw.
Town
Katchoo: So Gunn had the kind of intelligent frikkin' day that started with trying to steal Ding Dongs from the Quik Stop and getting arrested, and ended with Gibbs and Alex Cabot making a deal to get him off the hook. Geez. Jono's day at Groovy Tunes wasn't so dramatic, but it looks like it was busy. Menolly bonded over music with him. Who knew, at a music store? Didi came by to tell him about her birthday this weekend, and making it a twofer celebration with the Valentine's dance. Alice was there, too, to get Jono's opinion on . . . the destiny of grilled cheese.
Lacey: Wellspring Arms, Book Haven, Covent Garden Flowers, the Arms Hotel and a ton of artichokes, Photo Hut, the Gig, Stark Industries, Fourth Dimension, Android's Dungeon, Coyote Medicine, and Cabot and Associates were all open today, but the MCA lobby had Angua and Mina trading, as my notes say, barely disguised pleasantries. Lion-O was trying to get advice from the Cafe Fina salt and pepper shakers on getting a date for the dance, Raven did get a date for the dance when Andy stopped by Dite's Decadent Delights to see her, Didi avoided an arranged marriage at Turtle and Canary, Barney stopped in at Atlas Gym to cheer on the girls working out --
Katchoo: -- figures --
Lacey: -- and Jack Priest and Emma were at the Perk to have what the squirrels think is a relationship talk. With a lot of extra vowels.
Katchoo: I hear they're crunchy. If you don't let 'em sit in the milk too long. Rehearsal at the Boards had muffins for when people did the inevitable mingling thing they always do. Like Tony and Jack talking about SOs and the L-word. Or, y'know, people could actually rehearse. Or talk to the crew. Or the stage manager otherwise known as Tony. Or Geoffrey.
Lacey: Jaina met up with Adrian at his hotel room, where she was playing temporary guardian and very emphatically not flirting. No, really, it's underlined about ten times on this piece of paper. And not happy about the assignment, either. Aaaaaaaaaand finally, Caritas, where Robin was looking for Valentine's Day recipes -- oh, gosh, Robin, I have tons. Price did not have any recipes for her, just information about his upcoming date with Lulu.
Katchoo: Lacey has no upcoming dates. Far as I can tell.
Lacey: That's because I wouldn't tell you about them anyway.
Katchoo: Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. On that obviously false note? We're outta here. Later, Fandom.
