Fandom High Radio, Tuesday, May 12th
Evening, Fandom. This is the fortnight for the radio try-outs. For those of you I've yet to meet, I am Prince Arthur of Camelot, and I do hope to have your vote when the time comes. Still, there's no time to dither when there's an obvious stack of radio notes to go through. Squirrels, my cup's running dry.
*pouring*
And on we go.
SCHOOL
School's returned to us at last. First workshop of the day was SAT Prep, centered on prepping for sats.Whatever they are. There are introductions, where they speak of plans for after the SAT. Harry Dresden takes the TA position for this class.
Lady Temperance Brennan leads the class of Sexual Anthropology.
...
You'd think one grew jaded to these classes after some time, but you'd be wrong. The lecture is listened to, but I won't bother you with the details. What the squirrels do see fit to mention is that Chuck and Sam turn a glaring contest into a pontification of romance. I'm sure it was very... interesting. There are more introductions, coupled with statements about cultural beliefs. That's actually fairly accommodating for a Fandom class, considering. I'm sure now pigs will fly. Prince Dor made the lectern speak with his magic. The Lady Temperance was taken aback. It's... hard to explain. Sam and Chuck continue their earlier conversation by sticking out their tongues, while Lady Temperance remains after class, to bestow TAships on Eric and Valentine.
Recordskeeper Indiana leads his first class about Archaeology. They listen, of course, then Jaina questions the professor on a land called Corellia. More introductions are presented, and then relics inspected. Sam Witwicky has the TA position, although he's not much relaxed by it. It is a great deal of responsibility, Sam. I hope for your sake you'll bear it with pride. Shilo asks if Indiana is the recordskeeper's real name. No answer as of yet. Master Anakin enforces a pledge before allowing anyone into the Flight & Flying class. Some take it more seriously than others. It's a pledge, you'll stand by it. The students introduce themselves, and are then tested for their merit. They could also race, which Tahiri and Ben took advantage of as they spoke. There was also time to speak to one another, which K-Mart - that's not a real, actual name, squirrels, you'll cease messing with the notes - and Jon did. John Sheppard is the TA, who addresses Master Anakin as 'Professor Gramps'. It's nice to know I'm not the only one running into blatant disrespect at every turn.
Beach Play meets on the beach. Was it really necessary to mention that? I think you could gain that knowledge from the name. The people listen to... Professor? Marshall, while Francine distributes sunblock to Priestly and Merlin. Most likely a prudent measure, considering how much of an idiot he is. I don't want to spend another day without a servant just because he's decided to burn his arse off. Some of the people swim as Adora teases Hannibal. Right. Priestly and Prince Edward make plans to spend a night out, and Jess and Lord Romeo enjoy their TA positions. So to speak. They agree they're lucky to be there. Remember your responsibilities!
Professor? Mohinder leads 'Logically Speaking', where the students strategized about burning buildings. Then they tell jokes. You need a workshop for that? What a ridiculous waste of time. Valentine and Yakko 'exchange haiku', while Professor... Mohinder clarifies Claire's title.
The library is opened by Anemone, who draws in Valentine by speaking of Special Collections. Be wary of that place. Jack comes to fetch some books on the local history, and in the office, the workers dedicate themselves. Elsewhere, the new Professor? Jasper meets with Lady Ghanima to discuss the island's weirdness. That may have lasted a bit.
DORMITORIES
Ned wakes up in his alcove to brood, while Lady Angela tidies her own. She is visited by Peyton and her melodrama. That bloody frog then wishes to know about the gremlin she keeps in a jar.
That's... actually a very good question, Lady Angela.
Lady Penelope hides in her alcove, where Claire sees to her. Apparently someone by name of Alex behaved rudely to her. Ellie also decides to make sure she's all right, followed by Turtle, who discusses--
Now that is an interesting method of revenge. It's almost enough to replace the stocks. And Merlin does have a penchant for--
Moving on.
Kenshin and Savannah both put in some time emoing, as I believe Emmett would call it. Dinah spends time on the roof with Tony because she, as previously demonstrated, has a death wish. Emma critiques clothes in her alcove, where Lady Blysse visits to explain the madness. To whatever point you can actually explain it. On the beach, Sam and Peter make a night of it, including discussion as to the validity of the idea that Chuck has friends. Finally, to finish this up, John demonstrates a thoughtful lack of sanity as he babbles to his goldfish.
There really should be a club.
Claire eats pop tarts before an unlit fire at Grover Cleveland, where both Dean and Leda offer her introductions. In the James A. Garfield cabin, Rachel spends some time in the common area. Joan comes by to give her the requisite talk on Fandom Weirdness.
All right. If all of you 'newbies' have figured out radio by now, I'll tell you now: this island is mad. You will encounter any number of frightening things that make little sense at all, and you will deal with them. There are gremlins. Don't let them bite you. The squirrels gather the news. Sometimes, horrible things rain from the skies. There is magic, there is technology, and it is all right to be scared of them. If you need support, your fellow students will help you.
And, for the love of all that's holy, if you hear any man speaking the name 'Yzma', run away. Run far, far away.
Himura wanders about the cabin, where Rachel introduces herself to him. Joan and Himura discuss the weapons policy at the school - you're not allowed to carry any - and Riggins displays an utter lack of decency as he wanders through the cabin in his undergarments. Both Joan and Rachel are forced to cope with this. Prince Dor comes in bearing his deadly dog, and the couch joins in on the conversation. That... happens around Prince Dor, newbies. Joan comments on the dog, because it'd be hard not to. Outside, Priestly and Dinah exercise.
The Fandom Reserve met at the Rocky Bits today, where many arrived to help discuss strategy. Lady Blysse searched for new faces, which she found in Fiona. Lord Leto discussed her family history with her, and my stellar lack of surprise is growing. Tahiri and Dinah discuss surprises - I don't know what could be dirty about that, squirrels - while Fiona and Ino...
I do not have an 'attitude problem', and you'll cease casting aspersions on me. Gossip's rife these days, no wonder neither of you can stop talking. Tony and Merlin discuss a few organisational things that I'm sure Merlin will do well at. For his standards. We explored different levels of terrain on the island for strategic purposes. Lady Blysse and Fiona decide to see as to how they could protect the school gates. The others spread. Lord Leto and I were there, and we were perfectly cordial, thank you, squirrels. Then Ino came to speak about a few matters regarding the reserve, and whatever these squirrels are implying about the tone of that conversation, they're wrong.
Jon O'Neill brought hot dogs for the lunch hour. Again, I really don't see the need for mentioning that it wasn't dirty. Parker is pleased by the spread, and so offers him some introductions. Karla arrives, in need of an explanation about the hot dogs. They're a food item. The locals have a strange sense of humor about that. Parker and Karla speak of the right ways to greet someone of the same gender.
Moving on. Liir comes by to show Karla his dev-- all right, yes, now I am glad to hear that it wasn't dirty. Ben talks family and flight with Jon, and it devolves into talk of dolls that don't have any naughty bits. Of course they don't. They're dolls. Parker and Ben have the Fandom Weirdness Talk, but I'd like to think I've covered that by now. Ben also introduces himself to Karla. Jack Priest enjoys his free lunch and introductions, discussing workshops with Jon. Karla also imparts her newly-gained knowledge of the hot dogs on Jack. Jack asks Liir about some friend or another that he's lost, while Parker purports to be 'badass' to Liir. Right... Jon asks how Liir wants his weiner and are you actually apologizing to me, squirrel?
*chittering*
Now there's a novelty. Eleanor and Liir affirm newness again; Diana informs Jon of her cat's eating habits. I'm sure he was pleased with the topic of discussion. Parker and Diana notice the blatantly obvious about each other, which leads me to ask if they're related to my manservant in any fashion. Finally, Eleanor introduces herself.
At William Howard Taft, and who in the name of God came up with these names, Amber roasts more hot dogs. I'd imagine going from the name that they were already warm to begin with, but nevermind. She discusses meeting people with Liir. Then Jennifer comes by in time to learn of yet another one of the island's many invasions.
New students, if you haven't learned a weapon, I'd advise you to do so now.
Savannah sits outside with something to drink, but her silence is broken when Claire comes by to speak of heroes. Johnny also arrives to speak to Savannah about auditions - grand - and Ellie meets Savannah. There's more talk of auditions with K-Mart; it takes a turn for the philosophical when Eve picks up the subject of whether a man's worth can be judged by his monetary value. Of course not.
Valentine was enjoying her solitude when Hurley rudely disturbed it. You have to break in the newbies gently, Hurley. Give them some time.
Finally, at the main campfire, Effy poked around with a stick while she drank. Alex comes by to snark on her, whatever that means, while Turtle raises the point of pregnancy. I... won't ask why. As if ordinary introductions aren't enough, Turtle and Effy then re-introduce themselves, just to keep things difficult. Worf argues fire safety with Effy. Don't mind him; he's a bit rude. He then tells Turtle he won't leave until Effy does take the proper precautions. That'll do, Worf. Rachel then takes a moment to inform Worf of the fact that he's not from Earth. If... that's the case, I'm sure he'd know about it by now.
Chuck comes by to share a 'joint' with Effy, and I really don't want to ask. Alex and Chuck discuss the lost art of sarcasm - trust me, it has not been lost just yet. Unless you take it up with Chuck. Rachel introduces herself to him, after coming in and speaking to Effy first. Turtle strikes up conversation as per usual, and Katina, too, attempts 'badass'. Keep on trying, Katina.
TOWN
Prince Edward went about his work singing. Note my complete lack of surprise. Valentine visited for a special, while Lady Mary came in to post information as to her need for new workers. Geoffrey of the theatre had a casting call today, where he was joined by... Serena, Savannah, Priestly, Dinah, Gabrielle, Karla, Prince Edward, Harper, Kenshin and that bloody frog. Some also joined the crew, such as Harper and Tony, who, of course, immediately found himself bothered by something blonde and chatty. They mingled as well, so Priestly and Dinah spoke of fighting 'Shakespeare style'. I daren't even think. Karla introduced herself somewhat inappropriately to Priestly, who cast down her insinuations. Frightening display of willpower, Priestly. She also speaks of muffins to Dinah, hopefully less inappropriately so. Dinah then dedicates herself to the wonderful task of educating Prince Edward on the theatre. G'Kar also came by to explain to Geoffrey how he wouldn't be joining them this time.
Hinata, Fiona, Adam, Gunther, Jack with the terrible hair and Tully and his broken ankle opened their respective businesses today. So did someone else blonde and chatty who spoke to Fiona about flowers. I'm feigning my surprise as always. Loki wore a hat on the job, where he granted space to live to Haley and discussed the law with her. Noble of him. Ronon startled Loki, then launched into a tale of having been gone for a year last week. If I simply keep on talking, then I won't be forced to think about what I just said. Apparently it inspired a great deal of swearing. I'd like to add my voice to that. Sir Daisy visited to speak... very politely... to Loki of music and tattooing. Dani opened the Gig, where both Sir Gwynn and Ellie sought employment. Tully was also there, to visit his Mr. Twain.
Turtle opened her store, where Prince Dor came to inquire after measures to keep his dog from drooling on his bed. Fiona came by for supplies as well, as did Glinda. Apparently she had things to bake. These notes do continue to battle it out for least interesting, don't they? How many left to go?
*chittering*
... Ah.
Lord Deadpool trained at the gym, where he may have been looking for a fight. Lady Veronica came by to give in to his wish. That's...
... I won't say anything. Merlin visited Chilly Boulder with his new 'little sister', the poor thing. Try not to break her, Merlin. And Shilo? He is not nearly as interesting as he likes to pretend to be.
Marshall opened Caritas, where Lord Romeo and I discussed the many responsibilities inherent in the state of being a TA. He also thanked Professor...? Marshall for the position. Gibbs made Professor Marshall, and this is merely the squirrels talking, 'scream like a girl'. Tony Stark was not enarmored by Gibbs' appearance.
*chittering*
No, I'm not going to insinuate any of that.
Tim arrived and was titled 'New Dude'. Welcome to Fandom, New Dude Tim. Tony Stark wished to know if Professor Marshall knew why there were more people on the island. It's... oh, I'm sure he explained it to you. Steve told Tony he was meeting his teaching 'buddy' for a drink. She promptly arrived soon after to discuss what a super soldier is. Also, Vince Noir was duly impressed by Professor Marshall's... size.
In her new house, ...Lady Glinda considers lesson plans while she eats cookies, which draws in Murdock.
I... is that it?
*chittering*
Of course that's it. I never implied anything else.
Good night, Fandom. Mind your newbies. Someone get me some more rum, and Merlin, why hasn't my saddle been polished--
