Fandom Radio, January 10
Hello Fandom! This is the one and only Rich Tozier, formerly DJ extrordinare, currently not at all a bitter drunk teacher. This is a totally valid coping mechanism, kids. Especially when hungry-looking rodents are staring at you.
Consider this an apology to anyone I insulted over the squirrels. They exist, they're creepy, and I'm kind of disturbed by this.
Classes
French 101, aka ew, they eat slimy things, does the typical introductory class, with students explaining why they're there. Some students pay attention to class, while others sort of don't. Dawn fills in Brooke on the names and locations of "way cute boys," so if you fall into this category, best keep an eye out. Oh, and no one wanted to talk to Professor Beaubier.
See, when they ask you to teach here, they don't send you the syllabus for Fandom Invasions, nor do they explain why this class would be necessary. Everyone is VERY interested, as they should be, I'm guessing, and they introduce themselves. Hoshi and Ino talk about fighting skills, while Ino and Liir make plans for a gym date. Hoshi tells really disturbing facts to Alex, and my god this school is terrifying, not that I believe in vampires. Ino and Alex talk about their home worlds, and one has magic and one has feudalism.
In the less appropriate column, Johnny passed inappropriate notes with Savannah, and also stared at Max. He claims it was because Max looks like someone, but I doubt it. Probably just because she's hot. Was that inappropriate? Liir stared at Sulley, probably because he's hot. Or maybe not. Oh, and Professor Winchester makes Luke his TA.
In what looks like the start to an interesting semester, Ethics class skips introductions. Except the introduction to Professor Skywalker's flaring cloak, which isn't half as cool as he thinks it is. On the other hand, most of the students seem impressed, or something, because they pay attention. Except for Wyatt and Savannah, who do the side-conversation thing, until Skywalker totally does the 'anything to share with the class?' thing. The class decides where they fall on the pretentious twit scale, leading to some intense emotions, I suppose.
Tactics 201 starts off simple, with people paying attention to the lecture. Sokka clarifies the shooting teammates thing, which is a no, by the way. People introduce themselves and pick armor, which um, sounds interesting? Then they all get to explore the base, which actually sounds really cool, and explains the armor.
River is the TA, and talks to Professor Kerrigan about um, tactical weapons. Triela also talks to Prof K.
Conflict Management begins with a lecture, which makes those of us who prepared nothing for the first day of class look bad, thanks, Professor Wilson. Everyone takes notes, and then they "hook up pens and paper" to solve their conflict. That sounds dirty, but that's what the squirrels tell me. Lana and Beauty work together on their assignment, go teamwork.
There's study hall, hosted by Aly-- but, honestly, do any of you have work to do? It's the first week of school. Ron makes an effort by showing up, but it doesn't look like he's getting much done. Lesson here? Don't make the effort.
The library is open, thanks to Karal and Altra. Mr. The Librarian talks to Karal, because The should probably take more of a role in running the library, instead of just getting punched. Romeo also talks to Karal, and they talk about poetry.
Nathan Petrelli holds office hours, which, thanks for reminding me to do that at some point. Kerrigan swings by to offer alcohol and discussion of Winchesters, and Michael also makes an appearance.
Dr Juli also held office hours, but alas, no gifts of booze.
Principal Washburn also also holds office hours. John Winchester visits, both the Principal and the baby, and also may want to discuss some punching.
Kerrigan also visits. Again, no booze.
In The Office, there are Russian accents. And 'staches. I want to hang out in the Office!
Dorms
In the third floor common room, Sam and Dean discuss salad, sex, lawyers, and rabbits, possibly not in that order, and possibly not in connection with each other. AJ and Beauty talk about an art project, and are what some might call 'adorable'. Sky just seems to want some answers, damnit. Liir and Alex are social, which is always good.
Cimorene finally arrives in Fandom, dashing Anemone's chances of having a double room as a single, and also totally missing my class this week, which was the most important class ever. And that was a lie, but you're totally speaking first next time.
Savannah and Johnny talk about the Ethics discussion. Savannah, also sort of related to Ethics, follows-up on the conversation she had with Wyatt. A sister you never knew? That's got to be awkward.
Marco finally graces Fandom with his presence, and what is it with you kids and the lateness? Because Anathema is also just showing up.
Um. So, apparently AJ is late for his hair lesson, and that's a direct squirrel quote. Ino pouts because of this. And, uh-oh, Annette is having some NyQuil issues. That stuff is the Devil's work, let me tell you. You'll wake up two weeks later, no idea where you've been or why.
Town
Town is certainly hopping today. Book Haven is hiring, the Arms Hotel has some specials with apples, and Isabel is working at Pixie Dust, where she gets to chat online and talk to a pirate lumberjack.
Turtle and Canary is open, thanks to Sokka, though OMG no red Squishy. This does not make Turtle happy. But Sokka saves the day! Unfortunately, it's too late to prevent Jack from ordering a biscut and gravy one, and Sky is forced to get blue.
Wellspring Arms has a puppy! And someone named Nate, but a PUPPY! Groovy Tunes has my groovy landlord Melody, as well as groovy Frank Sinatra, so that's all very groovy. Ami thinks at the Magic Box.
Mr. George Michael gets a shipment of peanuts with shells, which he should hide from squirrels because they looked hungry when they told me this. No lie.
Adah writes a letter at the Perk, which sells coffee, the fuel of Fandom. River visits her,, and they discuss things. Lucas tries to fix go-carts, and gets a visit and lunch from Melody. And they talk about weirdness.
In the Clinic, there's some Juggernaut, followed by a very cold Doogie.
Caritas is busy, and in need of more tequila.
They'll probably be in need of more whiskey, judging by the way Anakin is throwing it back. Sheppard is cheerful at him, which isn't taken well, but he takes Brooke hitting on him less well. Apparently she looks like his granddaughter. Creepy, and also, the worst rejection line I've ever heard. Granddaughter? Seriously? Please, how old is this guy? If he's old enough to have high-school-age granddaughters, he's remarkably well-preserved.
Anakin does get a salute from Bond, but he may be too drunk to appreciate it.
Brooke is putting away her fair share of booze. She's also getting hit on by Jack, who does not think she's related to Anakin. There's a debate over the possibility that Sheppard is pre-stalking Brooke, but he denies it. Brooke has some of what Bond is having. But not dirtily, just drunkenly.
And, well, that's all the news these formerly-imaginary-animals have given me for tonight, so this is me, signing off. Best of luck with sleeping off your hangovers, and here's hoping we make it through the weekend relatively intact.
