Fandom Radio, January 9
Well, hello there, new crazy town. My name's Brooke Davis, please take note because you will be hearing a lot of it, especially when I have to introduce myself first thing whenever I meet someone new. Because in addition to having someone with not-so-great fashion sense sharing my face and confusing hot guys on me, in the last couple days I've learned about magic and zombies and girls from 3000 and ex-boyfriends from six months ago and two-headed Turtles. I swear no one warned me about this before I came here.
Anyway, as if I didn't give you enough news right there, let's jump straight into some more, shall we?
School, where people are supposed to learn stuff but it's really just social time
Can I just commend the school administration, by the way, for the brilliance of having maybe one class a day once a week? It so beats this same seven classes every day crap. And it gives me much more time to sleep in, or not. Kudos.
Ye Shall Be as Gods, which is getting a much shorter name if I get this gig permanently, had the obligatory introductory lecture, along with actual introductions, and then Aly came by to check on the teacher, who is her teaching buddy. I feel so weird calling teachers by their first names. But that's probably only because I haven't dated any yet. Driver's Ed also did the lecture and introduction thing, and Aravis came by after class to correct Professor Bond on her name. You know, looking through these notes, I'm really surprised there's not a lot more of that going on.
Discovery and Invention did the lecture bit, but then bucked the trend and went straight into experimentation. Oh, so many comments, so little time. In Public Speaking, mocking the teacher was encouraged, as were the very common introductions, though Turtle had to try and talk Jeff into doing his. Then she's probably a good choice for that TA position she asked about. Also I hope her name doesn't mean she really is one. After the other day, I know nothing anymore.
Lawyering Up, which now that I think about it, would probably be a really useful class, everyone discussed why they want to take the class, Meg and Isabel decided the teacher was hot while Dean was trying to say the teacher's an ass. That doesn't matter, sometimes the two things balance out. Except then we have my last boyfriend, so moving on. Chris and Lana talked about their other classes, which seems weird to me when you're already in a class, Annette told a lawyer joke for extra credit, and then proving that the students do sometimes work around here, they had to work up a defense. And after class, Sam offered his TA services.
The office was open, complete with pizza, and Professor Cannon had his first office hours. Adah opened the library and met the new librarian, who River didn't think was a librarian, but anyway. River and Adah had quiet time, which is fitting since I think that's what you're supposed to do in a library, and Lee and Adah talked classes. Hey there, Lee.
Well, that wasn't so bad. Okay, onto the personal lives and juicy stuff that isn't the principal punching out the librarian. That kind of rules a lot.
Dorms, where at least my roommate hasn't been sexiled yet
Reno and Rikku met in the woods for a sparring session. Sounds a little shady to me, and who spars, anyway? I thought that was for like boxing, where high school is more about random punches thrown on the basketball court. Katara interrupted Zuko's lock-picking to confront him about his fight with Sokka yesterday, and do you see how that seems more normal, everyone? Aravis stomped into Seely's room, all pissed off at being made a TA, and I'm pretty sure you can take that up with a higher-up if it leads to stomping. Because it's just going to lead to more stomping, sweetie.
Willow put up posters advertising courtly dance lessons on Saturday. I have no idea what that means, but if it ends up with at least one guy not going "But I don't dance!" at a formal, it's all worth it.
Jen worked on a blaster gun at the shooting range, and Jen, I fear you a little more than I did yesterday. Billy then stopped by for small talk, and maybe it's just me, but I'm not sure around live ammunition is where I want my small talk to be happening. Roomie, who you might know as Michael, made breakfast up in the fifth floor common room this morning, where Isabel won herself some food and caught up with Michael, and Romeo asked her about flying cookies. ...Sure, why not. Let there be flying cookies, too. What's one more thing? Michael got Ino to try tabasco on her food, which... sounds like a taste I will not be acquiring anytime soon. Billy boggled Romeo by wishing him a, and I quote, "good morrow", Romeo met Michael and they talked about classes, and I'm ignoring any mention of emo about Dean's talk with Michael in order to focus on the mention of being a guy and yet still being in a lesbian threesome. Not that I would ever do that when the boys are so pretty, but I think I need to meet Dean.
Peter Petrelli checked out some Project Runway in the fourth floor CR. Peter! I approve wholeheartedly. Isabel bemoaned the lack of Tyra, which I think is sacrilege, because the real star always has been and always will be Janice. Dean wanted to know what was on, and that led to a discussion of edible clothing. Yuh huh. He did deny to Isabel that he's suffering from withdrawal, and Meg was also missing Top Model, and can we get some positivity going on here? Project Runway is a great show in its own right and we need to start watching it on its own merits. Yes, this is the sort of thing I climb onto a soapbox for. Meg was cute at Dean, and Dean was Dean, which I'm thinking is a good thing, and Billy wants Project Runway for superheroes. I haven't been here long enough to address that.
Town, where there is pizza. I swear it.
Tink opened Pixie Dust, and thank god, clothing. Mary got herself some clothes worth celebrating in, Liir let Tink dress him, and Romeo picked up some clothes and absinthe. Two notes to self: Meet Romeo and check out this store. Aly and Deadpool sparred with sword, and there's that word again. With the added word of 'swords'. I mean, seriously? On to more normal news, Hoshi manned the Arms, Johnny opened the Photo Hut, Teyla opened Groovy Tunes, George Michael opened the banana stand... *snicker* And Glitch was there advertising the courtly dancing. I think I have to check it out just to see what it is.
Teddy drooled a little at JGOB, which isn't very dignified, unless what you're drooling over is so worth it it doesn't matter. He introduced Liir to baked goods, and Renee and Faith decided to pick on Dale re: his coffee at the trooper station. At the post office, Beauty got a milkshake and visit from AJ and Glitch, and Gabriel opened the church. I kind of wonder if it has hours of operation.
Steve got a letter and made a phone call, Cable's lack of technology brooding earned him a puppy, aww, Wilson took the morning clinic shift, and at the Magic Box, Cable browsed, Andrew and Michael tried something called Frogspawn Jelly, which sounds disgusting, and also kind of like a contraceptive, and there better not be any left over in the room, that's all I'm saying.
Amber opened Turtle and Canary, and Sokka wondered if her dancing was because of a gremlin bite. What? I mean... what? Makoto got checked up on by Millie on the first day. I don't think I could spend all day in a bookstore. I'd have to die of boredom just to keep myself entertained. AJ opened Luke's, which I understand has nothing to do with Lucas or Luke, which confuses me a lot, and Lana came by Wellspring Arms for a lesson with Ino.
Faith opened the dead zombie bar, where you could sing along with the zombies. No. Nuh uh. No. Sorry, I'll do a lot of things for money right now, but I draw the line at having to sing right before getting my brain eaten. Lucas had to resort to heavy drinking after finding out about vampires and body counts, and I suddenly think I might be heading to the bar, zombies or not, after the broadcast suddenly. Lucas also flirted with Melody, which is about par for the course six months ago. Mike celebrated his first day of teaching with drinking. I'd expect that more for a bad day. And Faith told him about the Hellmouth. Oh my god. I give up. Mike complained that Mary didn't warn him about the zombies, and right the hell on, Mike. Renee and Faith ended up kissing at the bar, Melody debated semantics, Seregil wanted ale, which is a really fancy word for beer, and Mary hung in the lounge.
So, that seems to be it. I managed not to freak out at anything, including the squirrels that are hanging around, all threatening rabies, so I think I did pretty good. And if not, well, at least it's over. See you later, Fandom.
Anyway, as if I didn't give you enough news right there, let's jump straight into some more, shall we?
