Fandom Radio- Sunday, January 3
Morning, Fandom, and morning, new kids. I'm Jaye, and in case you didn't find out about it yesterday, the squirrels are spying on you, and now I get to tell the rest of the town what you did.
In the dorms, Adora un-became a lion cub and got to see her new mural. In town, Seivarden said goodbye to Breq before she left, Diego had to work through the picnic, Beau played with her dog in the park, which brought Liam over to play and to hear about the classes she's taking, and Stark came to meet Beau because of the teleporting dog. I mean, it's new, but once you've seen a vampire puppy fly you can't really be surprised by stuff anymore. And Allie was at the Devil's Nest, adding books to her reading list in a bar, like you do.
With all that out of the way, strap in, because we're talking about welcome picnic now. Luckily for me there aren't a ton of new students, so big and little siblings notes are short. Illyana helped Enola out with directions and finding clothes, Miles had a gift basket for Lydia, Wei Wuxian told Belle about being turned into dinosaurs in class, and Sabine introduced herself to Number Five, who's old and didn't want a sibling, and I'm sorry his name is what. Roommates were also met, though Enola and Number Five weren't happy about it, but at least Belle and Lydia got along.
The teachers were a talky bunch. Amaya and Lucille talked about the latter joining the faculty and the former taking a break from movie night class, while Lucille and Kathy ignored each other so hard the squirrels took note. Aphra is still a tooka, and not that I know what that is but apparently it's something that could climb into Anakin's hair and now I'm very sorry this is an audio medium and the squirrels did not get pictures of this. Barry and Dante debated The Rock versus Zac Efron, while Kathy teased Dante about being a teacher. Annie met teaching buddy Karolina and they talked about superheroing, Summer welcomed Nick but he was more worried with why her store doesn't sell duct tape, Seivarden offered Ignis a place to stay if needed, and Barry was Ignis' teaching buddy but he already had a clue about the weirdness of this place. And Nina was happy to see Ignus even if he wouldn't tell her what he and Anakin talked about. Spoiler: I'm guessing it was her. Also spoiler: Liam also had to meet Ignus.
Barry got a tackle hug from Kathy, Octavia and Shunsui did something with sake, Nina and Annie talked about teaching and cooking, and Faye flirted with her new teaching buddy, Old Steve. Nina welcomed Liam back and got some souvenirs from his trip, and Kathy had to find Nina to give her something from someone else? Liam and Shunsui also welcomed Ghanima back.
Elsewhere, Liam and Octavia talked, I guess? Stark also told Liam how dressing fancy for New Year's went. Illyana and Ulysses talked about the new kids they met, Dante and Octavia caught up, and Nina told Juillenne about her class. Wei Wuxian wondered if Five is dead but apparently he's temporally displaced? Not sure what that means, but I'm going with it. Illyana talked to Five about teleporting, and Five's already decided to usurp Nina on StuCo.
Oh, please let this attempt happen this where I can see it.
Liam and Rey talked about amusement park trips, Ulysses introduced himself to Lydia by telling her about volcano kidnappings, whereas she declared Five the weirdest person she'd met so far. Nina and Lydia met and talked about family, and she and Juillenne bonded over how the gremlins aren't so bad. Counterpoint: yes they are. Annie told Miguel that she just found out she's teaching, Dante found Alluka for hugs and s'mores, Nina told Enola about some of the weirdness here but Enola wanted to know if women can vote, and Julius told Ulysses and Juillenne about getting sucked into a video game. Oh hey, I hadn't heard that one before. Congrats to Julius for that. At least with Wei Wuxian he got to hear about being a bunny. Juillenne and Illyana tried using their powers to get food, and Tahani had Nina taking pictures of her coat for Instagram, which is the most annoying note I can end this on.
