Good morning, Fandom! This is Jaye, with all the news that happened yesterday, as reported by squirrels who stalk you throughout the day. Totally normal thing that happens here and no, I'm not kidding. Take this as Exhibit A.
In normal, every day town news, Seivarden brought her cat to work at the flower shop, Breq was working at the music shop around something called The Silence- sounds like a bad 80's B movie- and Lucille was reading at Pick Your Poison and Iris stopped to check in on her. And Bucky was alone at the theater, so naturally Mayor Jesse came to keep him company. And Adora?- the notes are a little fuzzy on that- showed up at the causeway and Sabine told her you can't stab a portal open and the island already assigned her a big sib.
Ever notice how often we must sound like a cult explaining this place? Food for thought.
And then there's the welcome picnic. Big siblings were met. Miles got to meet Alara, who's from space and the future, Arabella thought she was good with the weird stuff until Eleanor gave her a list of weird stuff. Nell went looking for W-

You know what, she asked about his flute in a non-dirty capacity so now he is Flute Boy because I have no other identifying information yet. Maeve decided Wayne was hazing her but was more concerned with where to find a job, and Troy assumed Mae was here to give him magic powers. No, but you never know what might happen over a weird weekend.
Roommates? Also met. Eleanor proved very helpful in getting Flute Boy's drink on, Troy and Arabella talked about setting up dividers, and Maeve met Mae, who she insists is a talking cat. All of this should work out fine.
Teachers were also there. Kitty introduced herself as Barry's teaching buddy and roped him in to one of her classes, Barry told Summer the kids looked young before she told him about how she ruined previous students with bananas, Beau brought food for Karolina, and Summer gave Booker the rundown on this place but he was more worried about the squirrels. Too late! Gotcha.
Otherwhere around the picnic, Karolina made her rounds with the newbies, hitting up Miles, Adora, Maeve, Arabella, Troy and Flute Boy. Miles and Astrid bonded over art, Shuri pointed out some people to Miles, who also met Juillenne and her giant cat. We really do have a cat thing going on right now. Nell also offered to bring Juillenne more stuff, and Summer welcomed Jesse to her first picnic and they talked about their multiverse theories. You know, light conversation for a summer's day. Yasha caught some attention from Miles and Adora. Miles also spotted Freya and apologized for staring, while Troy was mostly just staring. Nell offered Tisarwat tea and they got to meet over that, Shuri warned Adora away from the potato salad, and Tahani insult-plimented Maeve's hair and told her about the squirrels- got you, too- and introduced herself to Arabella, who was surprised at having multiple Brits here. Just wait till she finds out about the multiple people from outer space.
