Fandom Radio :: Tuesday, November 13th.
Kerrigan: Okay, you good?
Turtle: ....as good as someone who just hacked up a pile of phlegm the size of a half dollar can be.
Kerrigan: I mean to broadcast, for fu-- I said I'm not talking.
Turtle: *after a few coughs, then a sniffle* Yeah, I'b goob. *very loud blowing of nose* You sure you don't want to help, Miss Lieutenant Kerrigan? It goes faster with two people.
Kerrigan: It's just Lieutenant. Miss sounds like I'm up for a freaking modeling competition.
Turtle: Oh! Like ANTM!
Kerrigan: What--?! NO! NO MODELING!
Turtle: Mwa ha-- *cough cough cough* Uggggggh. Right. Here. You read these ones.
SCHOOL
Kerrigan: ...Jesus christ, these rodents are pushy. No, I'm not going to the clinic!
*chittering*
Kerrigan: Fine, fine, I'll get these notes, and only these notes, if you'll just stop with the noise, for-- *sigh* So Principal Washburn asked you kids to be celibate due to a plague. Trust me, good enough reason to keep it in your pants. US Government watched a series about World War II rather than go to the White House, which I'm sure was a good idea. Gotta remember that one for when I'm up to my buttcheeks in stuff and I don't want to bother with actually teaching you kids. So they watched, while Lana was taken to the clinic after she was there. Okay, that's makes about as much chronologic sense as anything. Josh was sorry but Aly made sure he was okay. Hopefully not against his will.
Hades teaches Mad Science about raising the dead, which... sounds a little questionable if you ask me. Especially when you're asking kids what they'd get their undead to do in exchange for their lives back. Probably a reason why no one talked to Hades. Just stay away from genetics experiments. It never ends well.
Turtle: And it looks really bad on your company if there's a public leak of information like that. Naomi was framed! Framed I tell you *cough*. Or, rather, just talking about frames for shop class. That's not nearly as exciting. It must just be "Finally make TAs do something" Day, because Chris took over Prophemancy class today, too. Because they're less sick than the teachers, I'm going to assume. Eve tried not to pass out, which I would usually make fun of but I so feel right now, and That Weird Bloke Andrew, which I say because Jeff isn't here to say it, was all anxious. And thinking about being anxious right now makes my stomach go all garrgararegabble, so, yeah.
Kerrigan: Watch out for the mike. The trick is to distance yourself from the words.
Turtle: I will! Look! I'm keeping a good distance away from it, too, and being very careful to keep saliva at a minimum. 15 Ways talked about first aid...how timely, and everyone was either being all worried or checking through their first aid kits. Claire and Sokka asked about how everyone's getting sick, and if everyone's getting it, I might be able to stop feeling worried that doing my radio duties is putting everyone jeopardy. Zuko was frowny, and Teddy made excuses for his sick boyfriend. Hey. You don't see me sending my boyfriend here to make excuses for my failure to meet my duties, do you, just for being sick? Jeez, Chad.
Kerrigan: Shut up. Somehow I doubt Chad was even up to that task.
Turtle: Hey, I can't help if Chad is constantly full of fail! Anemone shirked on duties, too, so Miss Next opened the library *cough cough cough* Ugh, sorry, and Mister Chef made chicken noodle soup in the cafeteria. I really kinda wish I had some right now if my stomach was all blach. Here. Read more notes, Lieutenant, while this passes....
Kerrigan: There's a conference about the plague in the principal's office. Constable Fraser talks to Dean Jones politician about the writing on his hand. He then goes on to speak to speak to the principal about containing the disease and talks quarantine procedures with the Sheriff. Quick work, Constable. Principal Washburn and Dean Jones discuss the best means of spreading intel - trust me, even in the future, broadcast briefing's the way to go - which is when the Sheriff shows up and is introduced by Dean Jones. Principal Washburn thanks him for coming and then Aly shows up stating she thinks the plague is magical in origin. Seriously? Oh, that just makes everything so much better.
Turtle: ....That kind of hurts my brain. Plague of magical origin. I mean, it hurts my brain more than it already hurts. Which is saying a lot, you know, because it really, really hurts.... My bodyguard here had her office hours and River came in like she does a lot, and as usual, you guys didn't talk about much. Miss Aly stopped by, too, and tried to get you to go to the clinic. Clearly, though, you didn't go. Mister Skywalker was a sick crankypants in his office, and Seely didn't help, yelling at him about Aravis or something. And River has a question about class. Jaina stopped by, too, and ended up doing the heckling the stubborn sick teacher *ahem* to go get help for their sickness. Qui-Gon up the ante by threatening to hit Mister Skywalker in the knees with a stick or something, and how does that he-- *cough cough cough* Uuuugh. Coughing really sucks.
Kerrigan: There's worse things.
Turtle: .....true, but this is still a really bad cough, ohmigod.
Kerrigan: *sigh* Have some more water.
DORMS
Turtle: But maybe no one had that soup in the cafeteria because Sokka made soup, too, in the fifth floor common room, but I wouldn't want any of Sokka's soup. ...No offense, Sokka. River approves of his attempts, but just hopes that the herbs he's using aren't poisonous. I bet they are. *cough* Billy suggests adding pasta. And, to prove that I was right about Sokka poisoning people with his soup, it's a good thing Rodney caught that he was putting lime in it, because, hello, allergies, and then he'd be worse off to on the same level as everyone else and their sickness. ...Speaking of which.... *another bout of coughs, followed by a whimper* It huuuuurts.
Kerrigan: It's just going to hurt worse if you keep [microphone feedback]ing about it.
Turtle: LANGUAGE! Radio is serious business, Lieutenant. A.J. and Dick wake up feeling like I feel right now, I imagine, and were dragged to the clinic by Troy and Annette, respectively. Eve tries to ignore that she's sick *cough* and Johnny's so sick he's ralphing and now I'm about two seconds from it for...oh, God, Lieutenant, you gotta take over for--- *scrambling for something*
*screeching mic*
Kerrigan: *sigh* Rodney is, and I quote, 'indulging in mindless entertainment'. Always good in times of war. Or plague. There's movie watching, which seems pretty straightforward, Sheppard steals popcorn and catches up with Charlie while Rodney complains, which considering that he got snuggly with the girl seems a little overkill. People will be people. They all react to what I am told is 'that part of the movie', whatever the hell that means. The rest of the movie is, apparently, 'post-Rodney embarrassment'. What do you people do in those dorms that you need so many squirrel air quotes?
Turtle: *sounding not so good* uhhhh, okay. Back. Sorry. Least I covered the mic so no one had to hear that? Not pretty, ugh. Anyway, gonna do this quick because I'm not feeling so hot at all. Like Anne and Anders before me. Evie visits Anne to get that girl to the clinic. Rikku apparently broke the Internet, and Teddy cons Haku into taking care of the Ugliest Cat in the World. Ugggghhhh, did we have to mention that thing? I just threw up here and now you want me talking about that.
Kerrigan: I'm going to buy you a bucket.
Turtle: Can it have a pony on it?
Kerrigan: *sigh* Sure. Why not.
TOWN
Turtle: I was feeling like crap, like I do still, at Turtle & Canary today, and Miss Lieutenant Kerrigan here showed up, which is good, because now she's my bodyguard for the night, and if I die by tomorrow, it won't be because of some crazy random psycho lady. Which Miss Lieutenant Kerrigan is not, despite what I may have first thought. Anyway. Mister Gabriel sleeps in church, which I was never allowed to do, and Karal shows up to apologize for missing Sunday before getting conned into cleaning the church. Did Mister Gabriel at least pay you for it, Karal? Ino worked at Wellspring Arms, and something finally happened at the Post Office: Mister Moist kicked Liz out so he could board it all up. The Photo Hut is opened by Jack, but the Naner Stand was not. Open, that is. In general, I mean. Lady-Robin had her radio show and Karal's cat is really weird and disappears a lot and hits the ground and I don't know. Gunther's in charge at the Arms, and boy, am I glad Jeff's not here to hear that. Blackheart is at Pixie Dust, Miss Valentine is at Groovy Tunes, and Adam is at Wonders of the World. I have to say, it is actually very inspiring to see so many businesses still going strong in light of the massive sickness hitting right now. I've got this little bubbly swelling of pride...
...or that could be another need to thr-- uggghh....
*mic feedback. Long pause*
Uggggh, back. I...don't remember eating that, much less anything today, so...Blech. Anyway, sorry. Notes. Right. The Troopers are putting the island's quarrantine into effect. Miss Stayon gets yelled at by Sherriff Mustang about her boat and leaving or something, but apparently she can't leave? I don't know. I'm too sick for this. Miss Aly stops in to make sure the Sherriff is okay. She also has coffee for Fraser. Ugh, that's evil. And she gets to find out what Altra, who's visiting Fraser, thinks of the magic? What magic? I'm confused. And sick. So it's okay. And everyone's sick. So, really, this radio should just be "Everyone is sick. They are sleeping like they should be, the end." But it ISN'T. What's wrong with you people? Mister Leo finds out what's going on, Agent Cooper mans the station, and Wyatt finds out he can't orb. What does that even mean? Squirrels are making stuff up again, which is mean to do to a girl who is ill! Anyway, he and Isabel talk about playing doctor, which is probably dirty, geez oh man.
Turtle: Oh, and Mister Cable wakes up in Mister Deadpool's house with a fox. I think my cold might be getting hallucinagetic because I don't get it, I have to be just hallucinating these words.
Kerrigan: Just read them out loud. You don't have to think about it. Clinic closed due to plague. Well, that's a novel concept. As is the Devil's Nest. I wonder if that trick works outside of sick season. Caritas isn't using it, though, and Meg ends up visited by some guy named Leo.
Kerrigan: Joanna fails to leave the island on her boat. Xander suffers bouncing e-mails while Connell can't get a phone call through. I'm detecting a pattern here, guys, and it's not good. While all this is going down, the landlord's watching Matt Damon movies with Aly. Classy.
Kerrigan: Ah, so after closing it due to plague, they moved the clinic to Town Hall due to plague. That makes sense. New arrivals show up - this thing is going fast - including Johnny Storm, Dick who's brought by Annette, Anders, Eve, Josh bearing Lana and... a golem bringing in Victor. ...Only in this town, I swear to god. Both Constable Fraser and Cable question the doctor about the specifics of the sick before, presumably, going off to help. Squall is mostly grumpy with a side-dish of hero complex. Robin just offers to help. ...I'm told to differentiate my Robins, so I'm going to say frog.
The doc warns Shawn about the quarantine. Petrelli tells Shawn he's copying his healing powers - neat trick - but doesn't know how to work them, which seems counter-productive. Then Evans and Petrelli talk about warning signs. Trust me, you don't want to know about mine. Adah, Jaina, Karal, Cable, Jolee, Kabuto, Anathema, Sean, George-Michael - who the hell names their kid George-Michael? - and Cassandra are all there to help. What, that's like the entire town?
Evans checks in on Andrew and promises to check in on Bart. Constable Fraser tells Katara being Canadian makes him immune to disease. I'm pretty sure that's not the case, but thanks for playing. Petrelli and Katara discuss wanting the plague to just go away. Trust me, it's never that easy. Sokka tells Katara not to get sick. Yeah, that's going to work. Aravis is comforted by Karal who tells her the sick have to be told what to do. Only if they're actually sick. Then that George-Michael kid tells Connell she shouldn't be there. You don't want to know how often I've heard that one. The sick all end up in their own cots. Cosy as hell.
Turtle: Ronan is getting really bad, icky fever dreams and babbling to Peter (I think Petrelli, it doesn't say), and Isabel has water for him and talks to him about wizardy and healing, and Squall's all grrrr because magic isn't working. Cassandra brought Ronan soup, hopefully not poisoned by Sokka. *cough* Mister Nast visits Savannah and agrees to check on Johnny and Eve for her, while Mister Cable checks on Hoshi, who Karal gets tea for to make sure she's comfortable. Ronan said hi, too. *cough cough cough* ..ugh, stop coughing, Turtle. Anyway, Isabel makes sure Bart's comfortable and they talk a bit about Andrew, 'cause that's his roommate, I think. And Andrew visits his I-think-roommate with ice chips and they talk about bad dreams. Katara checked on Bart, too, and apparently, the squirrels want to point out a kiss of sorts. You shouldn't kiss people when you're sick. Everyone knows that, geez.
Kerrigan: At the rate she's going, it's a miracle she's not down already.
Turtle: Mister Taylor doesn't care about other people, because he makes Katara play euchre with him when she could be helping other people. Mary won't rub his feet. Good call. *coughcough* Cassandra and Anemone stick together and discuss why they don't like hospitals. I don't like them either, usually. Katara offers Anemone some reassurance and Frog-Robin offers soup. Hopefully not poisoned. Dawn is there, too.
Turtle: Willow shows up to help Bridge, and talks to Xander. No, you don't get your usual title today because it's too long and I feel like crap. Xander also wished Bridge a happy anniversary. Yeah, right. Bridge is glad that Willow brought him soup, which I trust is not evil poisoned Sokka soup. *cough* *coughcough* He is glad even if Willow won't let him share, because, hello, contagious. Which is why we're fully disinfecting the studio before we leave, Lieutenant. Isabel brought Bridge crackers, and it's almost like they planned this thing. Andrew brought Bridge comic books and was all, "Hey! No dying!" which just makes me think Bridge hasn't gotten his will done yet. You should always do that, you know. Have a will done. Just in case. Aravis and Bridge discuss candy. Or candy flavored something. I don't know. My head hurts too much and I'm done talking about Bridge.
Katara checks on Chad, who tries to make her check on other people, but she won't have it. Teddy makes sure Chad isn't thinking of just leaving. It's not like he would just slip away, he's a bit too hard to miss. Johnny gets him some painkillers (I could go for an aspirin or two, holy heck, but at least the squirrels are being quiet); either way, he's really worried about Savannah, and Karal helps comfort him. Aww. And then Mary tells him he's hot even when sick. And, look, I can roll my eyes, even when sick. Savannah and Johnny even tried cuddling a bit...Sick cuddling. In a cot. GROSS AND UNCOMFORTABLE. *cough* But Jolee yelled at them anyway.
Dick is shown to a cot and Annette's all annoying about making sure the doctors do their jobs. They're doctors! And they're busy today, geez. Aravis gets him some water after finding out he feels safe in the hospital, although it's really the town hall. *cough* Jeez, I'm going to need a whole package of cough drops, my throat's getting really sore. Anders is shocked that so many people are sick, but at least Katara's there to help him out. Isabel scolds Anders for getting si-- whoooooa, not cool. In case you haven't noticed, Isabel, I think you can be a little easy on him, all things consider and the fact that everyone and their second cousins are getting sick. And then Willow blames Anders' sickness on smoking. Uh? Willow? No. And Karal tries to be really nice to my little brother, which is good, because I'm feeling to icky to get on Karal's case for not being nice to Victor. And then Cassandra has to listen to Victor complain about being in the clinic. Clearly, because he'd rather be helping me at the store. Avaris also visits him, but he just wants to be alone, and let the poor boy rest! Eve gets an examination, and Lana is dropped off by Mister Lyman, and Shawn tries his best to heal her.
Kerrigan: What I wouldn't give for a decent medic in this town.
Turtle: They're trying their best! ....I think. I hope, because if not, that's just plain mean. In the waiting room, Constable Fraser waits. Sam decides to spend the night and Peter helps keep him cheered up, and Dean's also there to keep him company. Faith is there to check on Dawn, and Andrew takes the time to try to comfort a very upset Annette. Kabuto rubbed it in her face that he never gets sick. LUCKY YOU. Jerkface. *cough*
Kerrigan: Maturity. It's a right, not a privilege. The town hall's still in clinic mode in the evening. I'm not surprised. Jolee makes Anakin get his ass to a cot, fun times for everyone, followed by yet another slew of volunteers. Being Cassandra, Shawn, Karal, Adam, Doogie, Jolee, Katara, Skywalker, Summer, George-Michael, Inara, Petrelli, Yamanaka, Liz, Wyatt, Jaina, Kabuto and Anathema. I'm just reading these off the notes, I've got no idea who half these people are. Summer tries to get Shawn to get himself checked out, Cassandra wants Karal to tell her what to do, and Karal proceeds to get checked up on by Hayes and Inara. Don't get sick, boy, you've got a horse to take care of.
Petrelli goes to see Jaina with all the usual ensuing 'how to help' conversation. The cots are still there and with them, the ill. Ronan doesn't remember Jaina, great, Chris is surprised to find Savannah, who gets water from George-Michael, which apparently she needs, because she tells Summer to stab the truck that hit her. That only contains about three to four logical impossibilities. She worries about Annette. You're sick, kid, let other people do the worrying. Like Wyatt.
Like many before her, Hoshi is ill and in a bad way. Bart gets Altra to cuddle, courtesy of Karal, and gets both a wake-up call and a kiss from Katara. Which I am informed is 'adorable'. Thanks, squirrel. Cassandra tries to calm him down while he's sleeping. Taylor's sick, too, much like Anemone who also gets water from George-Michael. Winchester with an S brings Dawn a shirt. Pulling through there. Skywalker the Younger tells Dawn his dad's there. Winchester with a D also checks up on her. As does Hayes. Bridge gets homework from Adam. Working hard.
Then there is simply 'Chaaaaad'. I see eloquence is a big thing here. Shawn tries his healing trick on Storm but ends up passing out instead. Storm also informs Evans about his bad dreams. Annette is at Dick's side with a headache, which Katara tries to handle. Anders refuses help from Wyatt. George-Michael tries to help Victor but gets rebuffed, too. Nevertheless, Kabuto makes the offer, too. Another eloquent note in the form of 'Eve' followed by Chris wanting to know why Lana didn't wake him up when she had bad dreams. Probably because you're a growing boy and you need your rest. Wyatt is concerned he might get sick.
Lana tells Summer she's starting to get scared. Half the town is ralphing up their insides - I'm not surprised. Skywalker the Elder and Jolee 'snark' at each other. Once again, the squirrels drop an eloquent 'awesome'. Skywalker the Elder informs Katara that he isn't sick, gets blankets from Irulan and an 'I told you so' from Jaina. Summer sits with Shawn. Wyatt frets over Evans who I don't think is in sick bay yet, and Hayes brings Karal tea and food. I'm glad to see someone's looking after the kid. He needs it.
Connell is amongst those fallen ill and so is AJ, who gets brought in by Troy, who wants to help. Apparently Connell is concerned because she promised someone she wouldn't get sick. If promises worked, most of us wouldn't be here.
Turtle: ....Miss Lieutenant Kerrigan, ma'am?
Kerrigan: What now?
Turtle: ....um, we...we're done. I really, really want to go back to the dor-- *coooooough* Ugh, actually. I know you were gonna take me back to the dorms, but can we pleasepleaseplease just go to the town hall-slash-clinic instead?
Kerrigan: Fine. Try not to pass out on me.
Turtle: I won't! If I do, I'll pay you an extra fifty bucks.
[[ yay and many thanks to
on_her_korhal for filling in for...err...herself ]]
Turtle: ....as good as someone who just hacked up a pile of phlegm the size of a half dollar can be.
