Fandom Radio, Monday January 7th
Fandom! Squirrels! It's me again! This time - and I'm taking a moment to look around the station really suspiciously now, you'll all just have to picture that - without the guy with the awful facial hair.
All clear! Yup. So, hey, it's Sparkle, here to polish my day-drinking game while letting you fine folks know what happened around the island yesterday. Like how at the school, Lana was negotiating with the library books about quiet time instead of a concert. You know. As you do.
Later on, she hit up the common room of the second floor of the dorms, where there was mystery pizza. I mean, mystery food is kinda the one thing I miss most about the dorms. People should send me pizza, I'm just saying. Astrid speculated about what would happen if someday someone left, like, a pizza trap or something, but at least Lana always checks her random slightly suspicious common room food before eating it. Sabine asked if Lana had ordered the pizzas, but nope, it was just random pizza, and then they talked about how people, like, poison food at Lana's other school, and now I have one or two concerns. And then Sabine and Astrid did some catching up after the break, about contraband Christmas and dance-offs with snow monsters.
Moving on to town, where Fenris had plant chanting at Covent Garden Flowers, Bob was going over spellbooks at the Magic Box, Summer was trapped! Trapped by cats! At the Furnado, and that is an affliction I could totally live with. I was doing my nails up all Arrakis sunset pretty at Demon Marcus, where we're hiring, by the way, if you want a job. At Luke's, Bad Beard Guy got to deal with fish pancakes, which nobody was brave enough to try. I... I think I would have, just once, just to know. Anyway, Summer ended up ordering berries with berries, and her conversation with Beardo meandered through topics like cats, shoplifters, class lessons, and daaark and mysteeeerious paaaaasts. Look, it needs to be said that way. I don't make the rules. Kitty showed up with her baaaaabyyyyyy hello I am Sparkle and I come all apart over babies aaaah tiny mini humans and she went with peanut butter pancakes and a vanilla milkshake, but nothing for the baaaaaabyyy because she's still too small. And then she and Kanan talked about, like, pancreatitis or something because that's a great conversation topic. Also, Valentine's day.
Ahhhhhhhh *beep* that's coming up and this year'll be a lesson in logistics or timeshares or something, maybe. Ahem. Anyway.
Jono was trying to do some hiring to a soundtrack of Queen when Envy, who the squirrels inform me is not unlike a queen, stopped by to pay him a visit, in spite of the fact that he moved the store and apparently she was trapped in LA for a while. Is it just me, or is 'trapped in LA' kind of a thing for people from here? Take note, Fandom: LA is dangerous don't do it it will eat you. Aaaand finally, Atton had to deal with Tino's garlic sculptures at Caritas.

I hope you at least, like, brought some of that home, man. Free garlic.
Anyway, he and Sia did some texting about it - and I really have to commend the squirrels on the quality of their tiny squirrel binoculars, here. Jack - Jaaaaaaack! - stopped by too, and had the appropriate level of what-the-heck-garlic reaction about the whole thing before asking about the differences between swear words from Atton's home. You know, *beep* and *beep.* ... Wait, guys, seriously?

Apparently there are enough folks from around that galaxy that they actually care about appearances now, which is funny for a bunch of squirrels who spy on people while day drinking, but you do you, guys. And give me some of that rum.

The part about Valentines Day gave him pause. He knew Sparkle didn't hold with most holidays and had assumed that one would most certainly be on the list.
