Fandom Radio, Monday, October 1st
Good morning, Fandom. I see we got through another Parents' Weekend without blowing the island up. Give one another all pats on the back, it isn't as though we don't all know full well that it was a possibility.

What? I've met some of those guests.
Anyway, I have notes, I'm gonna read notes. Over at the school, Lana was introducing her guest to the library for her first shift. He seemed amused by the books. I get the impression that he seems amused by a lot of things. Jury's still out on whether he actually is or not. Rosa was in her office using a dartboard for throwing star practice. I can respect that. Darth Vowrawn stopped by to ask about Lana's education in Rosa's class, and the squirrels are pretty sure she was mining him for class ideas. Bunsen came in asking about potential candidates for new lab assistants, so good luck with your new internships, Ringo and Uma. And Paris stopped in with her nanny and asked Rosa if she can speak Portugese. The verdict is that she can follow along, but can't speak it.
That sums up about half the languages we have back home, honestly.
In town, there was the brunch, where folks could show up and mingle to their hearts' content. Zack was approached by some guy called... Tseng. Is the T silent? I never can tell when it's written in High Galactic like this. Kaidan and Jack got to meet Zack, but more importantly, got to meet Zack's dog. Look, I'm sure Zack's a great guy, but I have dog priorities, here. Kaidan also introduced Jack to Atton and his guests, and now I get to live the rest of my life with the knowledge that Jack said Darth Vowrawn was pretty hot, so thanks for that, Squirrels. Beaker wandered by Bunsen, and everybody else was elsewhere. At the food, Kaidan and Jack met up with Liam, Ariel, and Lili. Jack wandered off with Ariel while the other grown-ups chatted... space politics, I think. Makes my head hurt. At the tables, Zack set his dog loose on Prompto so that he wouldn't be sitting alone, and Magnus introduced Octavia to his visitor, Barry Bluejeans.
There are a lot of strange names back where I come from, and even I have to say, that one delights me.
In town, Aphra and her guest woke up in the stripper pole suite together. I'll leave you to fill the blanks in however you see fit. Kaidan was at the pier with Jack, where he introduced Breq to one of EDI's subroutines in Jack's shuttle. On the beach, Uma was accosted by a Fairy Godmother in a... not good way... but at least Bobby was there to intervene. See, I keep saying these weekends are trouble. Sabine was wisely avoiding the visitors while working on a mural she's been poking at. There were books on the floor during Bob's shift at the Magic Box. Jono had paperwork and then he had a Simon at the Groovy Tunes, and now apparently Simon has a job. Congrats, Sleepy Kid. Apparently Jono also got a text from Kaidan. How the squirrels have such good eyesight is beyond me. Unless they asked him to show them his phone, I guess. Sparkle did some flopping around at Demon Marcus, and was visited by Octavia, who asked if he was okay, Dr. Lecter, who brought him an apology brunch, and Nina, who he started talking trashy romance novels with.
The squirrels made a point to mention she's got a thing for knights. The squirrels are making this note weird and they don't even realize why.
We didn't actually have a pancake special at Luke's, but we did have a Summer stopping in to exchange notes about the weekend so far. And a Jack, looking for whiskey and cheeseburgers. I gave her one of those two things and some conversation and a Coke to make up for the other. Iris was working late at Pick Your Poison, where she got a visit from Tseng, whose name I am almost certainly pronouncing wrong, asking her to deliver some letters for him. Kaidan saw Jack off at the docks in the evening, hope she had some luck getting home, there, and along the beach, Steve was going for a walk with who the squirrels have dubbed, 'the wrong Tony.'
I'd say that's rude, but in the wake of these weekends, I have no damn clue. So, uh, have a good week, Fandom. Hopefully next weekend will be more quiet and will involve fewer attempted kidnappings or whatever.
