Fandom Radio, Sunday, May 13th

Good morning, especially to those of you listening in for the first time. I'm Clint Barton, and if you noticed a bunch of squirrels running around at any point yesterday, this is what that was all about.

Let's go ahead and start with what happened at the welcome picnic. All the new folks got to meet their school-approved siblings - Beaker found Breq, and Sabine wasn't sure why she needed someone to show her around until Norman started explaining some of Fandom's weirdnesses. Jaylah and Peridot were both happy to find someone not-human, and Peridot did the best she could to answer Jaylah's questions. Aloy got Astrid filled in on the weird things that had happened lately, like alcohol giving people superpowers, and Manfred got a quick introduction to what Fandom is like when he met Sidon. Norman was surprised when he found out he and Jaylah would be rooming together, but things seemed okay as they got to know one another. Sabine told Astrid she wasn't planning on sticking around, but if she's stuck here, she's going to paint their room, and Astrid helped her figure out how they should paint it. Manfred and Beaker came to an agreement, in spite of the fact that Beaker seems to only talk in "meep"s. That'll be an interesting arrangement.

The teachers were also hanging around the picnic; Karolina had a basket of gifts for the new kids, and Tony teased her for, you know, being the nicest person around. Steve would be pleased with her, just pointing that out. Amaya found Edward and told him she was his teaching buddy, and he explained that he used to be a student here, but had ended up here accidentally with no idea he'd be teaching. Yeah, that sounds plausible, sorry Edward. Kanan got Liam filled in on all the things he'd need to know while teaching, like using the Danger Shop, and Kitty was good and didn't steal Tony's coffee as they talked. I know I should be good and give up coffee too - at least I don't drink it at home as much, since that's mean? Magnus offered to sneak over and get food for himself and Amaya, which he succeeded at, and Kitty commiserated with Kanan about the fact that he had a teaching buddy and one of the students seems to be from a version of his universe.

Over by the food, Karolina introduced herself to Astrid, and Astrid did some drawings of Peridot and Pumpkin before realizing they were real, but she soldiered on and talked to Peridot about Fandom. Sidon talked to Sabine and cheered on her quest to find a way back home from Fandom, and Theron seemed to recognize Sabine, or at least her outfit, from his world. Karolina also tried to talk to Sabine, but she insisted she's only here temporarily. Hera tried to get to know Jaylah a little better, figuring the non-humans need to stick together, and Karolina checked in with Jaylah and Manfred as well. Sabine talked to Ahsoka about her time here, and wondered if she had any trouble leaving like Sabine has. Hannibal and Amaya got caught up, and Hannibal invited Amaya to come to his community center class this summer. Beaker had trouble reaching the food himself, so Peridot got on a chair and helped him figure out what he wanted. Karolina also found him, despite his lack of height. Hera and Peebee talked about how little they still understood humans, despite having been in Fandom for a while, and Hera also met Sabine since they've got that "same universe, different times" thing going.

Outside of the picnic, Seivarden was busy at Covent Garden Flowers making arrangements for Mother's Day - oh [microphone feedback] that's today, isn't it? Uh, Edward's ship made landfall at the dock, although Fandom wasn't where he was headed, and Luke's Diner didn't have any specials going since the school was giving out free food. In the evening, Sparkle went over to Hannibal's house for a cooking lesson, and Reno went by one of the houses in town to ask for a room, since he's back in town for a while. Mitsutada thought he was a stripper, but when Reno asked about a room, Mitsutada just wanted to make sure he'd be a decent, non-murderous roommate. It might be good to set your standards higher than that, you know. Reno explained to Miguel that he's already familiar with town, he just needs a place to stay, and Miguel admitted that the person who owned the house just moved, so there's space. Magnus just didn't want anyone to shame Reno for potentially being a stripper, which I completely agree with. Everyone's got their own best way to make money, there's no shame in it.

And with that, I'm going to stop talking before I say more things that might make my lovely wife kill me, and since I'm out of notes, that's it for me. Have a good week, and be extra nice to the new folks.
