Fandom Radio [Thursday, October 4th]
Jim: Hello, Fandom. It's Thursday and that means that you have to deal with us again. I'm Jim and this... Huh. You look like yourself again this week, Pam. Does that mean you're not going to threaten my life repeatedly?
Pam: Not unless you give me a reason to.
Jim: I'll do my best not to. Oh, by the way, before we get started, do you mind if I dedicate this broadcast to somebody?
Pam: ...go ahead.
Jim: Thanks. This one goes out to Turtle Wexler who knows why. Turtle, I'm still not telling you.
Pam: Telling her what?
Jim: ... She knows what.
Pam: But I don't. Telling her what?
Jim: I'll tell you later.
Pam: Why, is it a secret?
Jim: I'll tell you later. Hey, let's get started with the broadcast!
School, which provides a convenient change of subject
Jim: We started the day with Harriet Jones, Dean of Students, making an announcement about how people were turning into animals. She seemed to give a practical demonstration, too, and I thank you for that, Dean Jones. US History learned about the signing of the Constitution and in true Noblet fashion, they found out about the ice cream party that took place right after it was signed. Anathema made paper flowers, and I wonder if she'll get any flowers from a certain someone tomorrow night. Faile and John "Thunderbolt" Sheppard passed notes. Possibly because she has a date to the dance with somebody? I didn't see the note, so I can't be sure. Hmm. And then John passed along word to the esteemed Professor Noblet that he is a drunken thug. And if I've learned anything from Noblet, that means that somebody's a Communist. Ethics discussed gluttony with a virtual field trip. Some people even talked to a Hutt. I can see how a talking building might count as gluttony, I guess. Or maybe just proof of loneliness. Rose discussed art with Master Skywalker, John discussed family with him, Sora
discussed missing a class, and River heard a story.
Pam: Meanwhile, over in Pop Culture, it was all about communication devices. Students got to look at both phones and computers. Ooh, fun. And then Blackheart shared the culture of Hell. Like in Michigan? I heard it's really funny when it freezes there. Anyway, no one wanted to talk to Rose after. In Communications we spoke in lyrics and Jack turned into a bird while Naminé talked to the sub. Over in Invasions, they talked about flooding while partnering up and exploring the water. No one talked to Peter the TA, but Karal talked to Professor Winchester. In the library, Professor Next had to take care of a problem using a picture of that weird guy at Caritas and a vacuum. Wow. I am so glad I don't work in the library Chris talked about the weekend with Bridge, Z came in to break the exciting news that she has a date, and Professor Next finished up with her, um, problem. And for lunch, there was the deeply disturbing combination of turkey sandwiches and dog food. In clubs, we had the paper meeting where everyone got assignments, and the banana club, where Katara bounced, Rikku explained weapon customization, Sokka talked about rescuing scrolls, Liz was there, and Rose stopped in.
Jim: Also, there were offices. The school office went to the birds and Aly had a visit from Constable Fraser and they talked about Fraser rolling in Jello with Deadpool, who was a dog who tried to steal the magical Mountie hat. I believe it makes the person wearing it be extra polite. It's THAT magical.
Pam: Also, it's been on the hot mountie's head. Bonus points right there, regardless of magic.
Jim: Constable Fraser. Yet another person who may have a date to the dance. But I can't be sure.
Pam: Lucky lady, whoever she might be.
Dorms, where people are turning into animals and getting Homecoming dates
Pam: This morning, Peter and Mac played cards to not think about the weekend. Ino found a shirt that wasn't hers, and Annette turned into a monkey. Poor Annette. Monkeys are cute though. Katara is going to Homecoming with Zack, awww. Don't have a threesome with him, Katara! And she flailed at Cassandra over it. Jack and Billy visited Naomi, and Andrew gave John a tarot reading. Zim was totally not plotting, Lana cried on Chris, Peter and Willow made up, yay, Jack turned into a lizard, and Kabuto turned into a kitty! I am so glad none of this animal stuff is happening to m --
*sounds of quacking*
Jim: Wow. Thank you, Universe. You have great timing.
Pam: *irritated-sounding quacking*
Jim: If you stay like this too long, you're gonna quack me up.
Pam: ...that was really weird. And fuzzy. Never looking at ducklings the same ever again.
Jim: But funny. I wish I had my camera. All day today, Meg Manning was in the lobby doing Homecoming stuff. Hmm. I'm talking about Meg and Homecoming together. I wonder if there's any secret message there. Nah, probably not. Steve-Peter buys tickets for himself and Isabel, so we know who she's going with. Peter also talked to Dean and there was no blood shed about last weekend. Casssandra bought a ticket with an IOU you butt kicking lessons, and English Peter bought two tickets tentatively. Dean bought tickets and gave a tip. That tip? Flirting. Luke tipped with glee. Wyatt tipped with mystery. And people signed up for booths. Who signed up for what? You'll find out tomorrow.
Pam: And now I'm all curious. Karal became a pirate, then a dingo, then a guy who runs away from stuff that a dingo chewed on. Long evening for poor Karal. A little blue kitty pounced at things and was very scary except not. The kitty pounced at Z, ignored a hawk, and played with both Rikku and Aravis and her dog. Dawn worked out in the gym, and then was kind of awkward with Dean. Or so it looks.
Jim: Could that awkwardness be because she's going to Homecoming with a tall guy who is not Sam? No, actually. But it does make you think.
Pam: ...what?
Jim: Exactly.
Town, where people are turning into animals and preparing for Homecoming. But who is preparing for whom?
Jim: Seely, Gavin, and Karal all went shopping for clothes. To be a fly on the wall there. Or a squirrel on the clothes rack. A magpie took Gabriel's place at the church, Turtle -- hi, Turtle, have you figured it out yet? -- was a turtle at her store... Wow... George Michael opened the banana stand, and Ed Elric bickers with Sheriff Mustang in the park but not at the same time that Rose was briefly a wolf. Isabel, who has a date for tomorrow, opened Pixie Dust. Jaina was shown something that would end up with a tablecloth thrown over it before the night was done thanks to family members, Hoshi and Mary looked for a dress, and Robin the Banjoer came in, probably not looking for a dress. And Anders came in to find Isabel being a dog. Lana was hiding in the bookstore and Joanna stopped by to make a purchase and small talk. At the hotel, Mary was a kitten for a moment, which Stanley saw. Hoshi came in to ask Mary to help her with what we already talked about and I wonder if she possibly has a date. I really don't know. Rikku opened Wellspring Arms and was visited by two dogs who fight and turn into Cable and Deadpool.
Pam: Valentine directed another movie, and was joined by Robin, Faile, Sokka who turned into a turtleduck...which I guess is what would happen if you crossed my animal self with Turtle's...and Tinker Bell was fashionably late and bearing costumes. The Photo Hut was open, and Professor Skywalker played with a puppy in the park. Weird. And Isabel and Rose apparently agreed, the latter being a wolf. Meanwhile, Annette and Dick saw a scary movie, Dr. Wilson the mouse tickled Professor Aziraphale, Friday played with blocks while his mom and Professor Rogers made dinner, and Professor Yondaime prepared dinner for Professor Deadpool.
Jim: And this week one of our squirrels is obsessed with aliens. Weird little guys. Anders opened Caritas where he talked to Mary and they both talked to Dalton the bouncer. Neil opened up The Devil's Nest and flailed. And Katara -- who probably has a date, but I'm just not sure who with -- opened the clinic where Molly stops by with a case of needing to shop for a dress for her date. I wonder who she's going with. You got me.
Pam: ...um, probably her boyfriend.
Jim: Yes. Probably.
Pam: You're weird.
Jim: People keep telling me that for some reason.
Pam: So are you going to tell me the thing?
Jim: Once we're out of here.
Pam: Fiiiine. Bye everyone!
Pam: Not unless you give me a reason to.
Jim: I'll do my best not to. Oh, by the way, before we get started, do you mind if I dedicate this broadcast to somebody?
