Good morning everyone, this is Clint Barton with your Sunday news.
As usual, it looks like all the good stuff is coming from the town squirrels. Let's see: Bobby was ordering a ton of pastries at JGOB when he ran into Ben, who mistook him for a different version of Bobby who used to go to school here. Slightly awkward, but they had a fun talk about other people who have been through this place more than once too. At Covent Garden Flowers, Seivarden seemed to be enjoying putting together flower arrangements for Valentine's Day, and at Luke's, the specials all revolved around the fact that the milk was coming out blue, but Miguel tested it and made sure it still tasted okay. Why would you test that?
*chittering*
...okay, you're right, I'd probably test it too. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a terrible life choice, really. At the Perk, Sparkle was working on a drawing for a costume design, and when Sia asked about the drawings, Sparkle explained that he's taking a costume design course and trying to come up with a wolf costume that isn't just making someone look like a furry. They also talked about what Sia's doing back in town, which is apparently attending a meeting for everyone from her universe, and she and Sparkle talked about what he knows about her world from Atton. Seivarden also came in and took the opportunity of running into Sparkle to ask what all the red and pink flowers she was arranging were about, so Sparkle gave a short lesson on the joys of Valentine's Day before they launched into a bigger conversation about how we deal with gender and marriage. Oh boy, that's definitely a Caritas-conversation, not a Perk-conversation.
Speaking of using alcohol as a fuel for conversation, that everyone-from-the-same-universe gathering happened over at the Devil's Nest after Anakin apparently sent out invites to everyone from his world. Octavia tried to get a drink from Tiny, but they actually check IDs at the Devil's Nest, so she got a non-alcoholic something instead. Cade wanted to know how many drinks Anakin was picking up - only the first round, apparently - and Atton was just worried about being in the bar that's the competition to the place where he works, which Anakin assured him wouldn't actually be a problem. Atton was glad to see that Cade is still alive, Kanan and Atton talked about his goatee, and Sia tried to get Atton to fill her in on all the people she didn't recognize.
Jaina gave Anakin her comlink so she'd stop calling home and could actually enjoy the evening, and then they got caught up on all the news about Jaina's babies, and the students they both knew. Kanan was curious why he was invited, and Anakin explained that he thought it would be a good idea for everyone from their world to get a chance to meet everyone else. That's actually a really good idea considering how many people were here. Hera and Kanan compared notes on how many people they recognized, not counting the students, and Aphra wanted to know more about the free drinks; Anakin said she could have one while Cade insisted they should get more for coming all the way to Fandom. Ahsoka wanted to make sure this was going to be a peaceful meeting between everyone and that Anakin wasn't trying to start a big bar fight, and Anakin was just glad that Theron showed up. Tahiri and Anakin got caught up, and Jaina helped Kanan understand exactly how many members of the Skywalker family have come through Fandom.
Ben and Jaina quickly got to talking about their kids, and Sia asked Jaina if they could talk later in a more private place. Jaina and Tahiri talked about how much of a mom Jaina has turned into, and Kanan got a little overwhelmed talking to Luke while realizing exactly how many Skywalkers there are. Rey and Kanan talked about feeling out of place in the group, while Rey and Mara talked about how weird it was to be in a bar with so many teachers. Tahiri also checked on Rey, since she'd taught her here at Fandom. Aphra and Kanan talked about what life in Fandom had been like for them so far, and Jaina was excited to meet Aphra since they didn't actually know each other yet. Jaina was happy to see Luke outside of Homecoming, and he also got a big hug from Ahsoka. Theron wasn't so comfortable around Luke, but Cade offered to sell him a flask, which went over a lot better. Ben and Tahiri had a very happy reunion, as did Luke and Tahiri, and Jaina found out everything she could about Hera, while they also tried not to spoil anything for each other from potential different times, and Jaina also made sure to check in with Eric, who was probably hiding in the back from all of these people. That's what I'd do, at least.
