Fandom Radio, Monday, October 2nd

It's so blissfully quiet out there. Anyone else notice that? Not that I have anything against visitors to the island, generally. Hell, I only met maybe two of them and they were both great. But the quiet? The quiet is nice.

So, I've got notes. Nice, quiet Monday notes?

*Chittering*

Look, a guy can dream, okay?

Anyway, somebody was actually at the school yesterday, with Lady Ghanima holding office hours in case any of the visiting friends-and-family wanted to stop by to ask about their kids. She got a visit in the form of her Lupi, Reno, who told her he was here for his Rookie, but wasn't about to leave without paying her a visit too.

Nothing in the dorms, to my perpetual relief, so we'll head out into the preserve, where Aloy and her guest Rost were looking for ways to get back home again, and the best I've got for you is to ask Portalocity if their systems have got mynocks again. That was my problem. Magnus walked by with a pumpkin spice latte and a 'hail and well met,' which mostly led to a conversation between the three of them about whether he was a teacher and if it would be fun to fight a bear. The answer is, 'yes, mostly, so long as they're not crazed at the time.' I still don't recommend it.

Slightly later that day but still before noon was the Brunch in the park, which saw Reno looking to mingle, a broad selection of food and drink that drew the attention of Dante, Kat, and Sam, and the picnic tables, where the entire Smith family was having an awkward meal together. Oof. Summer, if you want to go punching things in a different galaxy to get your mind off that, give me a call, I'll hook you up.

Over at the scrapyard, Hera was trying to convince Chopper that the only thing weird going on was an invasion of friends and family around the island. Cassie stopped by looking for scrap metal, and they settled on a sheet of something vaguely rainbow-tinted. Nice. Cassie paid me a visit over at Luke's, too, where I explained the fine art of pancake sculpture to her after an, ahem, entirely accidental pancake avalanche, and then took her on a tour of the freezer. Which isn't as frakking weird as it sounds, people.

At Demon Marcus, Sparkle signed himself up for costume design classes and got himself a text from Atton promising him free drinks at Caritas. That kind of weekend, huh? Jono was trying to buy music at Groovy Tunes, which is generally what a place with a name like that should be for, yes, when Dr. Lecter stopped by to say the bank had called, and to talk to Jono about the Smiths for a while. What, Summer's family? Is this a case of getting some parent teacher visit off your chest, Doctor, or are you both just being gossipy?

Finally, at Caritas, Atton was making certain he didn't have any guests and was offering half-price drinks for those with traumatizing ones when Sparkle stopped in for that free one Atton had offered, and they talked for a bit about whether they were angry at anybody in particular, and the class that Sparkle signed himself up for.

And that... that is all the notes. Hope you all got through that weekend unscathed. Just think, you're all free again until next year, now.
