Fandom Radio, Monday, May 9th
*The muffled sounds of a struggle, which includes a great deal of chittering, some rustling of notes, and 'mmmph mmmn' sounds that end in the abrupt shrrrip! sound of duct tape being yanked off of skin.*
Agggh. Yes, I get it. I get it. You know, you all could have just tried asking instead of tying me up in my sleep and then dragging me here.
*Chittering*
Well, you can tell Leroy he has terrible ideas. Just tell me what I need to do so that I can get out of here and go back to sleep. I've already been kidnapped by an island this week, I don't need the locals to start.
*Papers rustling, more chittering*
Radio. Okay. The news? Okay. And I've already been broadcasting for the past...
Okay. Uh. Good morning, I guess, to the residents of Fandom Island. I'm Kanan Jarrus, and apparently I've just been volunteered by these small, hairy guys here to read you the news. So I'm going to do that. And I'm going to start with this page labelled 'School,' since they're all pointing to it trying to get me to hurry up. In the library yesterday, Face - that has got to be a nickname - was setting up a table with a bunch of newbie survival information. I might have to get to the library to check that out, myself. Cassandra stopped by, and that's all the note you're going to get, because the rest of the page is just a runny mess of ink. Somebody got the sheet wet.
... With alcohol, going by the way Leroy is trying to suck on the page.
In the dorms, because these guys don't appear to have any concept of personal space, Dante was trying to get in touch with some guy named Anders before giving up and turning on the loud music. This got the attention of Rufus, who asked about what it was before they got around to making introductions. And in her room, Gratuity called home because apparently somebody signed her up for Adventuring For Idiots.
You know, this is really giving me an excellent idea of what people consider 'news' around here. And some idea of just how much privacy I can expect to have. Great.
In town, at the Groovy Tunes, Alluka had a toy... bunny? And was acquainting herself with the store for her first shift when Jono came in, told her that music was a matter of taste, and got to work teaching her how to get music to play in the store. And then, because of course you guys noticed that, I was wandering the streets yesterday afternoon looking for somewhere to exchange my credits for dollars. I was fortunate enough to run into Agent Washington, who pointed me to the bank. It's basically right across the street from the pond on campus, if you're from out of town and wondering. He also let me know that the food is more or less safe for human digestive systems - you can't be too sure on unfamiliar planets, I'm just saying - and we talked about how it's safer to not ask too many questions about this place before he took me out for burgers.
... The burgers weren't bad, for the record. I mean, I've had worse. I'm still kind of stuck on the fact that you guys thought that should constitute 'news' around here. Slow news day? Must be. I'm done. So I'm going to go back to sleep, and if you guys ever put spacer's tape over my mouth again I'll pin you all up by your tails. Are we clear?
*Chittering*
Good. Kanan out.
