Fandom Radio, Thursday, September 3rd

Hey now, this is more like it! Welcome back to classes an' actvities, y'all. This is Hardison an' I'm bringin' you the news of the island, as written down by nosy drunk squirrels. Yup, you heard it right, ain't no joke. The squirrels you see runnin' around everywhere? They're watchin' you an' what y'all get up to is then broadcast on the radio for everyone to hear. Ain't cool with that? I hear bribin' 'em with rum to go away works.

*Squirrely cheering*

Seems they agree. So now that we actually got news again, let's get to it. School's started up again, which means introductions for everybody. Y'all are gonna do this for the rest of the week, so get used to it. In Friendship is Cultural Exchange, Pinkie Pie--yeah, that's the bright pink talkin' pony, she's a teacher, this is your school now, get used to it--brought her class to Ponyville, which is apparently a real place. I did not know that. Apparently it's her home town an' students got a tour, before bein' introduced to her friend Twilight Sparkle, who lives above a library an' is tutored by the pony princess. If I were a thirteen year old girl, there is nothin' about that previous sentence that I would not have loved. Apparently Kathy agreed because she sat down with a notebook an' started askin' Twilight Sparkle all sorts of questions about how the people--err, ponies--of Ponyville lived. From what I know of her, this is not surprisin' in the least. Then Cecil asked Twilight Sparkle if the Ponyville librarians are dangerous, an' again, I am not surprised by that. Her answer was 'no' by the way, for any of you folks wonderin' the same thing. An' once Q and A time was over, they got to explore the town on their own. Please tell me y'all bought souvenirs.

In classes less filled with ponies an' sparkles, Anakin an' Obi-Wan Kenobi are once again teachin' Ethics an' the squirrels are back with their glitter signs. Thanks, y'all, I needed glittery pants today. They explain a little about the class an' then make everyone introduce themselves with Two Truths An' A Lie. If you listened to Mara's broadcast on Tuesday, that brings our number of classes where lyin' was an important part of the intro process up to three. Again, this is the school you go to now. While the kids were all guessin' which of their classmates' statements was the lie, Anakin an' Obi-Wan were arguin' whether an incident 'counted' towards Anakin's tally of times he saved Obi-Wan's life. What will they bicker about next week? Tune in an' find out. In a hopefully more harmonious class, Survivin' (an' Thrivin') on Fandom Island started with Ghanima an' Tahiri talkin' about the differences between their worlds an' this one. Seems like they're both from space an' Ghanima's from the distant future.

*Long pause*

...I need to start talkin' to my fellow teachers, oh my god. I love this school! Anyway, anyway, keepin' it chill, I'm cool. The class had introductions an' then students explored a simulated dorm room because the Danger Shop is also cool as hell, yo. Mara an' Isabela took the opportunity to complain about the lack of affairs on TV. Ghanima an' Tahiri caught up, with Ghanima askin' Tahiri how she's settling back in on the island. Then, over in Speech which, as far as I can tell, doesn't involve portals, ponies, the Danger Shop, or people from other planets, Josh presided over yet more introductions, these in the form of speeches.

That was it for classes today, but the Dorms were livenin' up, too. Kathy spent the afternoon on the deck while her linear algebra homework didn't get done. Man, already? Didn't the semester just start? Later in the evening, April was bakin' cupcakes to Taylor Swift in the second floor common room. Thorin recognizes April from a class they have together an' hopes she can explain why red velvet cupcakes are red. April doesn't know, but I bet Eliot does. If you're wonderin' the answer to that after the broadcast, find Eliot Spencer. Or just ask Google, I suppose. Google's probably faster. Anyway, Blue comes in holdin' a...scepter? That she found in her sock drawer? Which is somehow Thorin's fault? This gets April worryin' about how much room she's takin' up in her dorm, but Thorin's just glad Blue found his scepter, which I guess he lost while reorganizin' Blue's sock drawer. That he now intends to build fortifications for. An' alla this makes less sense than the notes about the pony, but I guess Blue's grumpy about the whole thing which is the only sane response. I think.

Frank shows up, sportin' a case of alcohol an' tryna find the elevator because luggin' several handles of liquor up the stairs is a pain in the back, never mind anywhere else. Blue tells him there is no elevator an' suggests cuttin' down on the booze, since Frank doesn't even have room in his closet for clothes. Blue, you sound like a girl with your head on straight. G'job. Anyway, Frank's havin' none of that idea an' also isn't keen on April's suggestion that he leave it in the fridge. Too far away from his room, apparently. Thorin just wants to know what an elevator is an' is kinda put out that there's no ale, cause he doesn't handle stronger spirits well. Glad you found your limits, kid, now if only others could follow your example. Dipper also makes an appearance, comin' in from a fight with a deer that he lost? April shares her cupcakes an' they bond over them both keepin' diaries of weird stuff that happens to 'em. On this island? You're gonna need a lot more paper, y'all.

Last, we just got Town, with only one note today. Turns out Jasper was daydreamin' for a bit on the boardwalk. There are worse places to do that, I guess.

An' that's all for today, folks. Like I said, if you need privacy, give the squirrels rum. Sounds like you Frank's the guy to go to if you need to top off. Also, it's probably better for everybody if you just stay out of other people's sock drawers.
