Fandom Radio, Thursday, August 28
Ah, Thursday. We meet again. You know, if I get voted in as Student Council president, my first official move will be to outlaw Thursdays so that we can get to the weekend faster.
*Chittering and tiny applause!*
See? I've already got their votes. And notes! I have... notes. Which won't be an issue once Thursdays are illegal!
Over at the School, there were classes. Shock. We had Atton's Getting By class, where he got doused in ice water and so he just kind of threw his arms up and let us get to the assignments. So, you know, 'behind Door A there will be pickpocketing, behind Door B there will be near-certain doom in a flight sim' kind of stuff.
Thor told his Heroic Tales class about catching a world-serpent, which I'm not entirely convinced isn't euphemism, before setting his class loose to try to do the same. And then Terrain class checked out Mount Fake Helen's in a class about volcanoes. While they were exploring the volcano, Jalian wondered about Elsa's wardrobe choices, Eleanor talked with Elsa about how great the view was, and they all talked about home. Which one of you lives in the volcano? Clearly not Four, who was pissy at Jalian about volcanic gas and melted boots. And Eleanor tapped Anders in for a talk about pretty flaming death mountains, and wondered about souvenirs. Can you even do that in the Danger Shop? Oh, and for anyone who didn't do the build a volcano assignment in class because there was a huge freaking volcano to explore, it's just, like, put some baking soda into an upside-down cone with the tip cut off. Add vinegar. Enjoy elementary school chemistry thinly disguised as geology. Repeat as necessary.
And then teachers held office hours, which is a thing I guess they sometimes do. Like Skywalker, who was cold and wet and who had ice water in his coffee. Awwww. Atton stopped by to bitch about his in-class splashdown, and knocks over Skywalker's shitty coffee before they start with the weird Jedi heart-to-heart stuff. Irene was friggin' brilliant, sitting in her office with an umbrella. And Jayne demonstrated his exceptional grasp of how doors work by kickin' his open, and then read notes. Veeery... sloooowly.
In 'Squirrels are awesome but making me read notes in the Dorms is still fricking creepy' news, Rapunzel was painting a cat on her wall. Edward stopped by for an alphabet lesson, but it was rudely interrupted by some... guess. If you guessed ice water, man, go get yourself a cookie. Also ice bucketed in the dorms? Travis, who was looking through the second common room fridge at the time. Now there's a wake-up call.
And then back we go again until less creepy, more Town-shaped news. Like how at the Magic Box, Elsa was putting out a shipment of plastic skeleton flamingos. And don't ask me how the hell that has anything to do with magic. But she got a visit from a really wet Barry, who she got some paper towel and made tea for over conversation about tempting fate. The Freedom Arms? Featured a cold, wet, angry Aeryn. I know you're all shocked by this news. And at Sia being splashed while walking her dog, too.
Android's Dungeon was less about ice buckets and more about a pack of freakin' nerds playing a nerd game, which mostly involved Rinoa lighting cards on fire and bitching while Squall and Jono tried to explain the rules. Or not get lit on fire. The notes are unclear, and a little singed. And then, finally, Luke's saw Kenzi singing and cooking something that the squirrels are reluctantly referring to as 'stew.'
And if the squirrels aren't sure, that's probably saying something.
I think that's all my notes, so I'm going to leave you all with a 'Happy Thursday.' Enjoy it while you can, Fandom. It might be the last Thursday you ever see.
