Fandom Radio, Sunday, June 30th
This is Jessica Drew from a remote location once again because boy are those squirrels good.
Not much was happening over at the school since it was, you know, a Saturday. And in the dorms, Natalie was going through some books with Jimbo stopped by to hassle her a bit.
And that means that Saturday was, as always, a day to hit the town.
It was hotdog day at Luke's, where Dean was goofing off on a laptop when Priestly came down to quiz him on current events. As it turned out, Dean was looking for stuff to hunt and invited Priestly to join him.
Batman was batdrinking batcoffee at the BatPerk when Jaina stopped by for a batconversation about bathistory and a batbad day.
Dani had carrots for the horses at the GIg, I was fixing things that I was also breaking at Stark's, and newbie Nikolai was on the phones at The Arms Hotel.
And then there was a big Pride party at Dite's with rainbow-themed food and drinks, games, prizes, all kinds of mingling, and even a little shopping. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Early on, Sam and Kaidan talked migraines and diversity while Éponine lurked by the food. Josh wanted some bagels, which April thought might be some bizarre innuendo. Josh and Kaidan discussed civil rights issues in their times and, guess what, guy from the future has the better experiences. And Kenzi tried to give Josh a cupcake despite its complete lack of resemblance to a bagel.
April was ready to party in her feather boa, Ricardo, which Emma asked to borrow. Sarah, meanwhile, realized that April was using the party as an excuse to drink.
Éponine was still camped out by the food when APril came by and they discussed the flavors of colors before Kenzi stopped in to discuss toys and gender issues.
Kaidan was there to support the cause even if he didn't seem all that comfortable in the store itself, which Emma teased him about before plotting to take food home. And Jack checked in to talk food and what might be in the coloring. I'm not going to repeat the theories here, but you can find them on the internet.
Alec was checking out th big rooster and yes, that's what I'm calling it, before Sparkle pulled him in for a discussion of all things Canada. And by that I mean Canada Day and hockey. And temporary safe harbor for fugitives, possibly. These are the things I know about Canada, okay? It's lovely, though.
The Anakin with less seniority was out and being social when Sparkle offered beads and cake and a conversation about being yourself on the island. And Ben decided to tease Anakin for being social and also for being an ugly baby because timelines, that's why.
Ender was drinking milk while Ben was carrying prizes over to him and I suspect I shouldn't be reporting anything about those prizes since they're teachers and I'm but a lowly student. Sparkle got asked to be Ender's TA this session before Ender had the job of telling him not to believe everything Fandom tells him about the future.
Kenzi ran the service industry gamut with Kitty, hitting her with everything from an offer of a manicure to selling some of the fine products available at Dite's. Apparently she was all about the manicurs because she offered one to a blushing Billy as well.
And then, because why not, Eric showed up in a pink spandex body suit. Kitty and Emma took pictures, but only Emma asked about Pride celebrations back home. And April just paid compliments on the spandex.
The hosts were around, of course, and Jack made sure to compliment Emma on the party and figure out some plans for that night and I'm again leaving it there since one of them teaches classes and no.
Sparkle was around as well, and had Ben approach to ask if his cat was a real cat or a person as a cat. Jack tried to find out whether Sparkle or Emma did the majority of the work for the party. And Kenzi asked for some nail polish for all of the manicures she was offering.
And that's it for me today. Now I've got to go see something pretty amazing. That I can't really talk about. Sorry!
