Fandom Radio- Wednesday, January 9

Well, it's Thursday, which means it's not my usual day but it's when you get me anyway. Hello, new kids. I'm Jaye, and I'll be mocking you every week.

And who are you and what have you done with this town? I have actual notes. Let's get to them, shall we? I want to get to making up names for people.

SCHOOL

Jack Priest has moved on to teaching Supernatural Studies, which got their intro today, but Toby and Student Jack spent the time looking at each other. And then there were introductions, and yes, new kids, you will be doing this about a thousand times this week. Or, you know, like three. And then after class, Jack called Stiles over to ask him to TA and to check on how things were with Derek.

Speaking of Derek, today's also when his Friendship 101 class with Pinkie is, and you have no idea how happy it makes me to get to report on this every week. Sorry, teaching buddy. That's journalism for you. The class kicked off with a song, and then introductions where they got to talk about their bestest friends. Afterwards, Juliet was either a brave soul or a confused one, asking to TA for Pinkie, while Emily asked Derek if he'd be able to tone the class down- spoiler: no- and Mercy asked him if he'd have a problem with her in class. To be fair, I think Derek has a problem with everyone, so you're probably not special there.

In the library, Sholeh was wrangling the fantasy novels, and Emily came in for fifteen years' worth of history books. I bet I can guess when she's from. She also got sentient books explained to her. Because those are a thing. John Constantine, who I guess is the new librarian, checks on who she is and if she wants to keep her job. She does, because I guess wrangling books is fun and it pays really well. I know, those aren't actual reasons. Sparkle came in to ask Sholeh why there was some naked chick in his room, which she says she knew nothing about. And Ulrik brought lunch, and now I'm hungry. See what you did?

DORMS

Check us out. You actually woke up, students! Congratulations! Well, Emily was facedown on her bedd after a phone call from home, which had Karina asking what was wrong. Emily admitted to being a little overwhelmed, which happens when you move to Cracksville. Topher was deafening the third floor by ignoring his robot dog's barking, and Hanna got a call from home that at least didn't end in faceplanting. That the squirrels saw, anyway.

Kate emerged from Locker 327- oh, right, new kids, there's a locker that temporarily eats people. Anyway, she got out and put her stuff away since she couldn't before. Locker, and all. She met her big sibling Not Alec, who gave her the rundown on some of the weird stuff and bonded with her over archery, and her roommate Evan, who brought up his puppy as soon as she mentioned socks on the door. And then she also had a reunion with Billy, who's apparently not her Billy but she knows him anyway.

Robot dogs, people-eating lockers, and alternate universe friends. Just in case people weren't tracking the stuff that might give you a headache.

TOWN

So Jeremy started out his day by coming to work at Demon Marcus... on the wrong day. I'm sure we've all done that but anyway, ha ha. He also met new boss Jane, who he thought was old boss Callie, who assured him he still had a job if he wanted it. Continuing the trend of things that only ever seem to happen early in the morning, a very tired Jessica was at Stark Industries balancing a coffee cup on her head. I assume she didn't drop it since the squirrels didn't note it, and if someone embarrassed themselves and they slacked off, they know they're getting docked some rum.

Allie was at the Perk, where she was unfortunately engrossed in a Dusk book. No! Stop now, before you want to find out what happened in the next one! Save your brain cells! She tells Alice about the book, because it's like a disease that spreads, but Mike at least had the good sense to say it wasn't for him. I suspect the Y chromosome helps.

At Ching Tai, Kitty and Clint had a combined birthday date, talking about whether you get a do-over if you turn into something over your birthday- no, but you get extra presents- and whether you can really give up superheroing. That I have no opinion on. And at the Devil's Nest, Derek had a drink, decent music, and no one bugging him, so sounds like we can end on a pretty happy note there.

Till next week, Fandom.
