Fandom Radio, Sunday, July 1st

*music starts*

You weren't really sure what this place would be
You certainly didn't expect a town like this
So may I introduce to you, so gratefully
To the kookiest place you could ever wish...

This is my kind of school
Fandom is
My kind of school
Fandom is
All of these people, new
Give it a day and they'll know you
And each semester start
Fandom is
Where we leave our hearts
Fandom is
Where popsicles rain on you
It's my kind of school!

My kind of school
Fandom is
My kind of school
Fandom is
Crammed with heroes and geeks
And it reeks
Of fashion boutiques

And each welcome picnic
Fandom is
A chance to do schtick
Fandom is
The biting gremlins
Fandom is
The cracked out classes
Fandom is
A school that won't make you a fool
It's myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Welcome, one and all, but mostly the new kids and especially any cute new teachers, rowr. This is Yakko Warner, reporting on virtually every move you made yesterday, whether you knew you were being watched or not! Hopefully your school-appointed representative mentioned that to you, or else you're in for an awkward awakening! Assuming you decided to listen to the only radio startion in town at exactly tis moment, of course. Otherwise, heh, I'm talking behind your back. And frankly, it's better over here so I don't have to see your face.

Sorry, sorry, but you left yourself open to that by not listening. But for those of you who DID tune in to this wonderfulness, let's just go ahead and start with town news! I promise I'll come back around to all of the new people in just a minute.

The Gig was practically bustling with activity as Dani tried to keep the horses screened from sunscreen and Jaimue Lannistteur made her acquaintance when he brought his hourses, Gloury and Honour. And there was a serious of jokes there, but it only works in writing, so everyone listening is out of luuck.

The Boards saw more rehearsals, hopefully keeping anyone in attendance from being bored - which works better visually, but I think most of you are quick enough to see what I did
there, even if it was verbal. Raven turned into a bear who craved coffee and programs, so she was probably a cybernetic bear...

What do you mean? Look, the note says she was bearing that stuff. There's only one definition of 'bearing' that I'm going to accept. It keeps me from getting Board. (Again, wordplay. This kind of stuff happens all the time, new kids!)

And Karla bought some early tickets, so she clearly expects to be fully entertained. Aaaaaaaand I just broke the rule of three. I expect
the people at the Boards will appreciate that. Anyway, the production is today. Go and support local talent, won't you? And if you won't, come and bring me a soda?

And now the moment we've all been waiting for: WHAT THE HECK YOU DID AT THE PICNIC. Assuming you had power.

Of course, the new kids started by meeting their big sibs. Mercy took pity on poor, poor, sweater-wearing Alec, who was at least protected from sunburn. Arietty stunned Frank by landing on his head. Stunned in terms of surprise, not concussion, because she's tiny like a lab mouse.

SPECIAL REPORT FOR ARIETTY: The squirrels promise they won't eat you. Just never wear nut-based perfume. That might tempt them.

Hanna met Liara, and hopefully gave her a tiara before they took a ride to the mainland in someone's Carolla. Juliet had a gift basket ready for Stannis, including such valuables as chocolate, a cell phone, and condoms.

...

Good night everybody!

Richie met Evan, but Evan wasn't thrown by the weirdness around here because he comes from another weird school. Let's check the class rosters.... Nope, that's not going to come back to haunt him yet. He somehow isn't taking classes with yours truly or our pony, Pinkie. That's a shame.

Maeby taunted the kettle for being black when she teased Sparkle about his name before bonding over something besides mutually silly names. And Darcy did her best to warn Miriam of the wonders of Fandom, something that could have been done easily by saying "Look up, but wear goggles."

But that's not all for the new kids! They also had to meet their new roommates! Victor was cool with Alec, Miriam and Stannis had a rumble, and Arietty was glad that her action figure size didn't cause any issues for Cassie.

And then, of course, there was the teacher pen where those of us shaping your young minds were free to roam and scamper and maybe be pulled inside and have our hair shaved off for use in sweaters. Look, do you have a better explanation for why my office neighbor, Dean Skywalker, wasn't around?

The former student Savannah was entertained by her teaching buddy, VeePee DeePee. Ender seemed to know about Jaimue's arrival before Jaimue did, because it was a surprise for one and a known teaching buddy assignment for the other. Those things happen. Or Ender's a psychic. On the off-chance that he is a psychic and knows if I have a shot with his sister, give me a call and let me know!

Speaking of Jaimue and siblings, Tyrion said hi to his big in height if not by birth order i don't know I didn't ask brother. And Cara was entertained by popsicle stains on Jaimue's cloak, while Jaimue was entertained by the thought that a chick could be a knight. He should be glad Dot isn't here. I don't expect that to mean anything to anyone but me, but I stand by it.

I set up a joke later on when Stacey asked me a perfectly reasonable question that I obfuscated like a pro. The squirrels seem to think that her talking to me wasn't helping, but I disagree. It helped me pass the time.

Ronan and Kaiden had fun with the good old magic vs technology and hey you're in the past topic. Samus ended up with my favorite pony and yours, Pinkie, for a buddy, which I'm sure will go very smoothly. Principal Helloooooooooooooooo Acting Professionally And Respecting Her As A Woman And More Importantly A Person So I Don't Get Fired met Kotetsu and tried to help him figure out a living arrangement so he doesn't have to sleep on a park bench, no matter how comfy they are!

Kotetsu met Tomoe and they talked about the weather. Valentine met up with Ender, who should know that I was being serious before, and they discussed their classes and whether ether of them find short, funny, and black and white except for a red nose attractive. I assume. My fellow property owner Zayne became buddies with Valentine and talked about classes since she was apparently prepared for the overall Fandom issue.

Ronan buddied up with Tomoe, Atton and Zayne talked about spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace and stuff, and Thor and Loki had yet more sibling interaction, even though they're not from the same universe.

Speaking of Thor, he got my punchline and I didn't get punched in response! Darcy didn't get punched either, but she was way less funny than me when she talked to Thor.

Away from the teachers and into the crowd, Fawn and Petra had a standard sib check-in. Then Petra and Karla plotted to deshirt the boys. I tried to lead the teachers by shirtless example, but then again I always do that. This no shoes, no shirt, no problem look will catch on eventually!

Loki was hyper at Luke about Thor, but dialed it back a bit when they talked about the weather. Jace and Alec caught up with each other, but Alec didn't appreciate that Jace has been talkative about what they are. By my count, they're one letter and a scrambled word apart from each other, which is probably what they meant.

Natalie met Alec, who snarked about Jace, probably because he thinks L is a much better letter than J.

You could sense the snark between Atton and Sia, which was easy enough to do just by listening to them talk. What? Hearing is a sense.

Karla convinced Lex to deshirt according to some obscure Fandom bylaw. Britta and Frank checked in while Frank got to brag about his pocket-sized sib. Petra gave Evan a brief rundown on Fandom and Karla played "Spot the Mutant and Place Him In The Right Timeline" with him. It's a very specific game.

Lex tried to give Liara some basic info, like food, and money, and probably whether or not he's into blue girls. Meanwhile, Ace was happy to check 'blue' off of her 'colors of aliens met' checklist. Just wait until you get the plaid, Ace.

Petra offered Liara an umbrella and I already did that joke earlier. Come on people, not every vowel at the end of a name has to be an A. What about the good old-fashioned O? Granted, Petro would make her seem too oily, but Liaro? That's a perfectly since name!

And Karlo helped Liaro figure out who food was what before she ate anything unexpected.

Loki and Stannis talked about bringing girls to their rooms (the girls happen to live in those rooms, so it's probably nothing untoward) and my good buddy Tyrion being a teacher.

Petra kept handing umbrellos out, this time to Miriam. Alec tried to convince Natalie that it was fate that's kept him as the only little sib she's ever had, and if that was a romantic move, that's a little bit weird. Almost Space Battles weird.

And finishing the picnic off, Ace and Topher talked about aliens.

Thank you, everyone, for tuning in. But as you turn your radios off and get on with your day, just remember....
