Fandom Radio, Thursday, May 24
Good morning, everyone. This is Chloe Sullivan with your important Thursday news! And your not-so-important news, I suppose, but it's up to you guys to decide which is which.
Over at the school, Sherlock wasn't around for Art of Disguise, so William led the class instead, talking about stereotypes and how they help you blend in. The students had to dress up as stereotypes, mostly for professions, like librarians and firefighters, and then show off what they'd come up with. Mr. Holmes showed up about halfway through class, so I guess he got to at least see that part.
In Kicking Ass, Teamwork-Style, the students had to go through a muddy maze to rescue a kitten, while on their way to a fancy party, because being dressed up doesn't mean you can't still save the day. The students made plans on how to get through the maze, but Victor and Ace got caught up on what they'd do with the cat at the party, assuming they succeeded in the actual rescue. In Surf's Up, the students got to spend some time getting used to the water and practicing being on their boards, and in Heroics, Fame, and You, the students were supposed to stage a Danger Shop-induced rescue, but ended up exploring a superhero-free London instead. That sounds more fun to me, to be honest.
Out in town, Angela held her office hours on the lawn outside the school, which is why teaching here is better than most jobs anywhere, I think. Emma was reading an infuriating study on human evolution, and Ronan suggested that she could write the author to let her fury be known. Ronan and Emma also welcomed Jack back to the house, now that he's back in town. At Demon Marcus, Callie was trying on shoes, and when Sparkle came in for new clothing, to replace the stuff that his Brownie ruined, he ended up with a job so he could afford the new things he needed. At Turtle and Canary, Britta tried to find out Apu's secret for never being affected by Fandom weirdness, and at Cafe Fina, Ben, Ender, and Tara--okay, they just went out for dinner, so I'm not going to call it a threesome no matter how many glitter flags you wave at me, squirrels. Anyway, they tried to figure out how they're going to deal with Fandom weirdness following them away from the island, as it often does. Ask me about that time my then-boyfriend woke up in bed with me as a guy. That's always a fun one to explain.
Fawn was cleaning and writing at Groovy Tunes, and Jono stopped by to replace a few records that his cat had destroyed that morning. And that's why I'm a dog person. They talked shop--literally, like what it took to successfully manage the shop--and then discussed Justin Beiber. Ugh. April was staring at people at the Perk, and while Tyrion didn't appreciate being stared at, they did eventually end up talking about being ponies over the weekend, and April's job at Caritas. And I was having way more computer trouble at the clinic than I should have, bringing great shame to the computer-savvy side of my family. Or something.
Those are all the notes I have here, so I'm going to get out of here while I can. Have a safe day, and a hopefully transformation-free weekend!
