Fandom Radio, Thursday, April 12
Good morning, everyone. We're more than halfway through the week, so just hang in there, because it's almost the weekend! Which, okay, isn't something people always look forward to here, but still...
At the school, the last week before finals continued on. In Practical Mythology, the students had a movie day, and in What Was the School Board Thinking? the students had to paint eggs. With their fingers, of course, because nothing in that class can be too easy or normal. In Is a Cigar Just a Cigar?, the students talked about birds as symbols by picking birds and explaining their symbolism, and then doing some flying thanks to the Danger Shop. And the Mad Kings and Queens class ended the semester by playing either Risk or chess, and Tara and student-Anakin used their chess-playing time to talk about how teachers always make them play Earth games, and how these games might look to someone not from here. Probably as weird as everything else from Earth, I'd think.
In the dorms, Daenerys and her dragons were watching The Price is Right in the fifth floor common room and getting confused over how the games worked - well, Daenerys was, I assume. Luke explained that Plinko is a game for old people, and very nearly convinced Daenerys that we send all old people to Florida. That's kind of an awesome idea though, you have to admit. Darcy was glad to see Luke out and about and not recently eaten, and she explained to Daenerys that the Price is Right is an awesome sick day television show, which is really, really true. Rapunzel and Daenerys talked about the advances they'd been making in becoming technologically educated, through cell phone buying and e-mail address creating and the like, and Darcy tried to help, kind of, by attempting to explain video chatting to Rapunzel. Jeremy was surprised to see Daenerys' dragons, thinking they were lizards, but Rapunzel told him he wasn't seeing things, and Daenerys let him pet them to show that they were safe. And poor Rilla was just horrified by how loud the show was, because people from Canada have much better manners than that. I...really want to argue with that, but I don't know if I can.
In the second floor common room this evening, Loki was watching America's Next Top Model and lamenting over the fact that he was a way better model during one of the crazy weekends. Tara was excited to see that the show was on, since she'd also thought she was a model that one time, and she and Loki talked about the fake kids that had shown up for them. Butters got some snacks for Loki, but the price was that Loki had to listen to Butters talk about religion, which didn't interest Loki at all. Tara, on the other hand, was much nicer about listening to Butters explain the Four Greatest Things About Easter, and Kenzi complained to Butters about how she can never be a model because she's too short. Being a model isn't really a good thing! You're not missing out! Anna told Loki that he was being conceited for thinking his modeling skills were all that and a bag of chips, and Kenzi got Anna to vote on the show with her. Susan judged the show, which Loki insisted was because she's never been a model, Bruce and Loki debated who they'll root for on the show, and Kenzi was just curious if the show had escalated to violence. Only in the dreams of every reality television producer.
Over in town, Britta was marking everything as non-organic and dangerous for you at Turtle and Canary. You mean "Red" isn't a natural, organic flavor? Who ever would have known? Quinn kept finding jelly beans all over the lobby of the Arms Hotel, which sounds like a sign that someone had way too much inappropriate-for-Easter fun. Lion-o was having a carnivorous crisis at Cafe Luke's, and at Caritas, Nathan was Planning-with-a-capital-P. Should we be worried? Is this concerning? I'm not entirely sure, because those are all the notes I have here. Well, have a great rest of the day, folks, and see you next week!
