Fandom Radio, Thursday, March 29
Good morning, everyone! This is Chloe Sullivan with your Thursday news, as well as a reminder that if you would like to stock up on protection before Prom, the clinic has loads of free condoms for the taking at the front desk. This place is dangerous enough as it is already.
Over at the school, the Is a Cigar Just a Cigar class got to have a movie day as they watched a film that covered a number of the themes they've been talking about all semester, and in Practical Mythology, Hercules taught the students about Athena, Arachne, and their weaving, before showing the students how to knit. The Mad Kings and Queens class discussed Abu ‘Ali Mansur Tāriqu l-Ḥākim, whose name I probably just butchered, and tried to decide if sources are too lenient on him. If they don't make fun of his name, I'd say they're probably doing fine. And the What Was the School Board Thinking? class went bilingual today as Jamie greeted everyone in what might have been Japanese, and Jeff explained in English that everyone would be running a muddy obstacle course. Miley, showing great faith in her fellow TA, bribed Sam P. not to dunk her or Dave in the mud as they went through the course. I suppose whatever keeps you clean is worth doing.
In the dorms, Topher was doing something mad science-y in his room, which is always a good sign of things to come, really, and Toby was in the lobby, selling tickets for Prom. Kenzi came by to keep him company, and wondered and worried whether or not she'd be voted junior prom queen. It's usually a compliment if that happens, for the record. Daenerys was playing with her smart phone in her room; Chuck stopped by and they talked about smartphones and the internet and why you should always look out for autocorrect making your messages awkward. And Miley had to deal with getting a rejection letter from college, awww. It's only one letter though, so wait for the rest to come in before getting too depressed.
Over in town, Leia was working her way through all the coffee she could get her hands on at The Perk; Jaina and Ben both stopped to say hello to her, but the squirrels got distracted before they could hear anything good. That's a little embarrassing, oh furry ones. Shira was browsing through the merchandise at the Magic Box, and Nathan was using his college information packets as coasters at Caritas, which I guess counts as recycling. Jaina found Anakin in the lounge and comforted him about...something, but there were more shiny distractions. I'm thinking here, the distraction was rum. Call it an educated guess.
Talking about the Perk has made me want coffee, so I'm going to get out of here while it's still early enough to justify getting multiple shots of espresso. Have a safe day, folks!
