Fandom Radio [Wednesday, July 27, 2011]
Hi, everyone! I tell you, I hope you're having a better day than me. There have been nothing but technical difficulties here. No matter how many times you push a button, it won't work, that sort of thing. I'd say it's the fault of the drunken rodents with bad handwriting, but I think it's really a glitch in the equipment. Hopefully it fixes itself soon.
*thunk*
Ow! I said it wasn't your fault!
SCHOOL
Creative Writing started off class by listening to Meat Loaf. The only Meat Loaf I've ever heard of is that guy who had meltdowns all over Celebrity Apprentice. I'm sure they're not talking about him. Anyway, everyone got to try and figure out what the "that" is in the song that Meat Loaf won't do for love, and share with the class. Now I'm going to be thinking about this all day.
Try Not to Die!! got to survive the cold with a promise of hot cocoa at the end of class. And I was totally there even though LJ won't post my mother effing sign in. Everyone had to dig out of an ice cave before a monster came to get them, and then chose whether to make shelter or tracks before checking in. Congratulations to Seifer, who came in first. I guess.
Deep Sea Diving used the Danger Shop to go to the coast of Australia today. Good thing it's only simulated as so many things there can kill you. After a little lecture everyone got to swimming and as far as I know, no one died. Congratulations! Tricks, Cons and Bamboozles took today to assume personas to help in schemes- how is this a class for high schoolers? Are the authorities watching this? I'm honestly curious. Anyway, they got to be assigned a profession and dress the part. And finally Rinoa made today a research day at the library. I see nothing wrong with that.
CABINS
As once again we're back in the cabins, I can't really call this section dorms this week, can I? Bod was joined by Kate in Anti-Joke Chicken to talk over a fight they had. Talking about your problems is the first step to solving them. And in Socially Awkward Penguin, Ramona was looking up party supplies online. Are you throwing a party? If you need any help, I love throwing parties. And having people come to them! She and Topher argued over whether he's invited, which led to him getting punched somehow. Uhhh. I don't really need to help, Ramona. Don't think I'm like, trying to get involved or anything. Nathan and Ramona had a mini-snowball fight indoors before settling down to talk about party stuff, too, and Tony got to hear about how it's going to be crazy, and have table dancing. Okay, maybe I wouldn't have been so great at helping anyway.
In Philosoraptor, Sookie was sleeping- that was a little strange of you, squirrels- and in Paranoid Parrot, Sam LaCroix was listening to records and reading magazines. Records? You mean iTunes, right? I've never even seen a record player. And at the main campfire, Miley was drinking hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows in the snow. That is a girl determined to have her summer. One of the Kates freaked Miley out by mentioning her gay brother and then decided food was a safer topic. Caroline argued with Kate over whether Kate kept Bod from Caroline's party, and this was when Kate and Ramona decided to plan the party I was talking about earlier. Caroline and Miley talked about classes at Fandom and how skiing is stupid. Not sure how those things go together, but... that's okay, I'm sure there's a segue somewhere. Ramona and Caroline talked about vampirism, Miley was thrilled to find another Southerner in Kate Daniels and Ramona asked Kate for wards for her alcove, and Ramona also told Miley about how we can get to the US via causeway. Sure you can. I do it every week.
You can all now consider yourself educated there. You're welcome.
TOWN
Finally in town, Alice was using the music at Groovy Tunes as inspiration for baby names, and Sookie was cranky at Cafe Luke's thanks to losing her tan. It's okay, I'm sure the sun will come out tomorrow. Or, you know, weeks from now. Robin was in a t-shirt in Caritas because she's Canadian and has no problem with the cold, Ariel was doing paperwork at Pixie Dust, Emma was late to work at the Devil's Nest, and Quinn and Puck had a date at Outback, where he told her about how his roommate graduated and he'll be getting his own room soon, bow chick- Oh my god, I didn't mean that, it was just written in my notes.
That's all. I'm just going to go to class now.
