Pirate Radio [Tuesday, April 12, 2011]
Good morning, me hearties--or as I gaze out my window, maybe not that good, but it is indeed still morning, so if ye'd been counting on the sun to wake ye for yer morning classes, ye be...slightly screwed. Wake up!
There, I be doin' me good deed o' the day right there.
And now fer the news!
In classes yesterday, Getting Out of Tight Situations talked about the invasion of gooooooooooooold this weekend! Money, money, money that was freeeeeeeeeeeeee! Money, money, money, all for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I am quite the song-writer this morning. Apparently, ye are all crazy, as the class spent more time talking about what annoyed them about the invasion and no time at all talking about the Free. Shiny. Goooooooooooold. Teamwork class also discussed the weekend and how teamwork helped rescue the princesses, who as far as I can tell, did not come out with bags o' gold and are thus not that interestin' to me. And in what is becoming a theme today, Fighting with Powers also also discussed the weekend, with an added bonus question o' talking about whether the class had been helpful to them. Tread carefully, students, yer grades have not yet been reckoned. And in non-weekend related classes, Driver's Ed drove go-karts and Science of Sexuality watched an educational film and had to write an essay about it. I'm sure it was quite educational! Was it the pirate themed one with swords and, er, swords?
Young William was in the library watching a skirmish between the plumbing books and the ones about fungi and turtles--Henry got hit by a turtle book in the crossfire--and the manly men of KKG made the final decisions on their photos for the fraternity calendar. No news on whether turtles or pipes played prominently into those choices.
In the dormitories, Effy was destroying magazines and newspapers on her bed--I did that too when I realized that Prince William would not be marrying me, either!--and Jason was reading comic books until the puppy in his room turned back into Nico. Alex was selling tickets to prom in the lobby so make sure ye ask someone t' go with you--not you, freshmen and sophomores. Nobody likes you.
And in town, the best part of the island, 'Dite was packing up her suite to leave and now the island will be that much less attractive. Fortunately, ye all still have me. Ender got his weekly visit from Ben, who came with sandwiches and left learning Ender was writing to his brother. Ender's brother. Not Ben's. Does Ben have a brother? Do I care?
*pause*
I decide I don't care. Quinn was trying to get herself elected prom queen at the hotel, despite not being eligible. Details, I say! Details! Lacey was working out mushroom-related rage at the diner, Dani enjoyed a quiet day in the stables, and Karla took stock of the, um, stock at 'Dite's before 'Dite herself popped in to say goodbye to her and to Raven, who was also there to talk with Karla.
Sookie headed out of town on account of her cousin passin', it seems, and took Bobby, Raven, Emma, Jono, Karla, Rinoa, Squall, Warren, Jessica and my boss Eric with her. I was not late to work, despite having him not be there t' catch me, and not just because Tiny is terrifying. I also was not trying to give away jam, Jake, who was plying the lovely Jaina wit' Happy Unicorn Good Earth Food Store Brand strawberry jam at Caritas.
And that's all we have fer today--or yesterday, depending how ye want to see it. Have a good day. I'm going back t' recount me gold. Of which there is a lot. And you can't have any of it. Especially you, Hook.
