Fandom Radio, 2/10/11

Salutations, salutations, salutations. It is your captain of the rocky radio waves, James Hook, greeting you again for another fine and felicitious broadcast of all that was newsworthy yesterday.

We begin as always with matters of The School.

Extreme Physical Education sandboarded yesterday, across simulated dunes of Colorado. It's noted that it is just like snowboarding, but with sand. Does that mean taking a board across the salty waves is waterboarding? Inquiring Hooks would like to know.

Science of Psionics discussed objects and materials that allow people to use psychic abilities physically. Say that five times fast. Specifically they discussed psychic energy batteries, cloth that enhances one's physical attributes, and amplification devices. Jolly good, jolly good.

What Not to Do in a Fight watched a movie about the color purple. It's a rather smashing color, though I prefer red in my wardrobe as to avoid any possible splatter stains. Home Ec meanwhile covered the importance of budgeting, to which any good pirate laughs at the idea.

Gabrielle shooed cupids out of the library with a ruler, while the club of AV built shields. What does AV stand for, any way? Anonymous Virgins? Amorous Visigoths? Amoral Velociraptors? Again, inquring Hooks would like to know.

In their respective offices, the ever ample Kukaku threatened the little cupids, while the vice-principal taught little Jan how to shoot the cupids with a water gun. Best to train them early, of course.

This brings us to Dorm Life, and not just the mold growing in some of your unemptied waste bins.

In life that stayed in the dorms news, there is Ender, who cowered from Cupids behind the safety of his room door. Sookie spent some time restless and trying to read, which was interrupted by Kennedy bearing drinks and sweets, and Karla who wished to gossip about boys and cookies.

In the lobby, Quinn was ready to sell you tickets to the dance or flowers. She sold some to the effusive Wesley, and the lady also made plans with young Nathan.

Over in the Salle, Percy sliced up dummies, though the notes don't mention Jason Todd or Zack being there, alas. Harper led the cheerleaders in a meeting, but was displeased with the presence of cupids. The Reserves practiced shielding each other from the outrageous sea of arrows that the cupids wielded against them, and there Zack and Karla decided it would be bad to fall in love with each other, and I have to completely agree.

Finally, notes on The Town.

Miss Yamanaka read at the Meditation Centre, Young Mr. Venture drank directly from the Squishy Machine at Turtler and Canary, Alexander was leery of a mysterious object at Things Reborn, and Shelly was asking mannequins to be her valentine at Pixie Dust.

Perhaps that is her happy thought.

Casheriff Vimes busied himself with paperwork and a cell full of cupids, Lion-o tended to vegetables in planters at Luke's Diner, William read at Fixxer-Uppers, and Kate occupied herself with coffee at the Mystery Sign Theatre.

The local post office had its renovations completed an a man named K fired a weapon at the cupids, while Lindsay busied herself with records at the Groovy Tunes. Tony Stark fiddled with a metal hand in the junkyard... Intriguing. Young Ben Skywalker arrived and Tony showed off all the amazing things he could do with his metal hand.

And finally over at Caritas, Nathan was again behind the bar, and Caroline joined him seeking solace from an awful day in the sweet embrace of alcohol.

That's how drunkards are made, Caroline. Not that one should not imbibe, but reasons like that lead to bad form, very bad form indeed.

And that was all the news my furry friends foraged up for me today. This is Captain Hook, setting sail for a new dock. You'll hear from me again next week. Bon voyage, bon voyage, bon voyage.

[ooc: Apologies for the lateness! Illness prevented a late night radio, and work prevented an early morning one. Stupid work. I should qui--oh, I already did.]
