Fandom Radio, Friday, December 17

Good evening, everyone. I apologize for not being here last week but, well, I'm sure you're all aware of what things were like in town. As for today, I'm not sure how I feel about the random gift of a blanket that I found this morning, but I'm willing to admit that it's keeping me warm right now. I don't know why it has sleeves though. People aren't really stupid enough to not know how to wear a blanket, are they?

School News

Finals week has come to an end, and obviously, so has the semester. I swear, these terms get shorter the longer I'm here. In Battles that Changed American History, the students got cookies and then discussed what they learned over the course of the semester. The Demolition and Dynamite students had both a written exam and a practical exam which, according to the squirrels, involved "blowing stuff up." The How to Be a Badass students had to tell Loki whether or not they think they're badasses, after all this time, and in Science of Deduction, the students had to pair up and try to read each other, which Ben and Ariel managed for a bit before getting distracted.

And, of course, it wouldn't be Friday without a meeting of the Apathy Club. This was their last meeting of the semester, so they took time to talk - or not talk, which seems to be how things actually go - and congratulate each other on making it through the situation last week without dying. There was also time for general complaints about life, which Jenny took as time to complain about the terrible Christmas sweaters at Pixie Dust. And then they whatevered under the supervision of Professor Farnsworth, who was asked by George if he has a weak heart. Just because someone is old doesn't mean they're dying. Sometimes.

Dorm News

Luke was packing up for winter break, and got a visit from Percy, who wanted to know if Luke would miss him during break. Nico was sad about losing his roommate for break, but was glad when Luke said he'd be leaving his video games behind. Ah, boys.

Alex was in the lobby today, to take care of the Student Council's coffee cart, and talked to Quinn about her plans for the break and for New Year's. Karla stopped by Raven's room to pick her up for a trip out of town, but first, she asked if they could make a stop so she could say goodbye to Warren. Then, instead, Karla led Raven to her surprise party. Awww, that was a sweet way of doing it. Once she'd arrived Bobby and Karla congratulated each other on getting everything for the party set up successfully. Tara and Karla talked about Christmas presents and Karla's winter holiday of Winsol, and Tara and Kennedy talked about Kennedy's success at buying presents. Ariel and Karla talked about the play and how they think it went, Ariel and Leda talked about their plans for winter break and going home, and Karla and Leda played with the snow that was magically decorating everything. Sometimes, the skills you children have still amaze me.

Once Raven arrived, everyone yelled surprise, which really did catch her by surprise because she'd never had a birthday party before. Karla and Bobby got to Raven first, followed by Jono, to whom Raven admitted that she had no idea Karla and Bobby had been planning this. People left presents for Raven, of course, and then had some additional fun in the ballpit.

Town News

At his house, Mitchell was throwing potato chips at his television when a very upset Kate came by to tell him about how she and Bod had a fight and broke up. Ooh, I'm sorry. Those kinds of things are always difficult to go through.

At the heart of town, Arya had holiday-themed candy out at Coyote Medicine, Cable and Jan were hard at work at Wellspring Arms, Bod was brooding in the graveyard, Harper was Bedazzling one of the blankets at Things Reborn, Aphrodite was hanging up flyers for a kissing contest, and Jenny was trying to keep the mannequins full of clothes without having to use any of the ugly holiday sweaters at Pixie Dust.

Ben was getting some last minute studying done at Fixer-Uppers when he got a visit from Karla, to whom he complained about how Ender is pretending to be all right after last week, but probably isn't. Again, I say ah, boys. John Sheppard was getting a lot of requests for holiday visits at the Atlas Gym, and got an actual visit from Jaina, and at the clinic, John Watson was having some sandwich troubles, and got to help Kukaku deal with an itch she's feeling under her bandages.

Those appear to be all the notes the squirrels made, so I'm going to head back out before it gets too cold. Have a good evening, and students and teachers, enjoy your break from school.
