Fandom Radio, November 9

Helloooooooooooooooooo, Fandom, and good evening! How are you all tonight? Yes, it's Tuesday, yes, this is Lacey Burrows, yes, these squirrels are really enjoying some team bonding -- bonding -- here in the booth tonight, and it's just a great week, isn't it?

. . . yes.

Classes

Oooh, classes I'm not used to reporting on. This is kind of exciting! *chittering* No, not that kind of exc -- well, maybe a little bit. Spaceships 101 had a refresher day on ships they've already worked with, and while everyone waited their turn in the sim under the threat of getting hosed down with a water pistol by Jaina, Ben and Tahiri just made plans for later, and did not get hosed down. That's good; water in the sim would have been an electrifying -- aw, I crack myself up -- experience. Unconventional Tactics was a talky bunch today, even before the actual discussion of playing to your strengths to protect your territory. Whatever Kennedy was thinking about that had Raven all flustered, the squirrels think it must've been dirty. Chloe and Triela both noticed Ino's foul mood, and Triela tried to reassure Dolf, who looked pretty awkward himself. Tara and Kennedy got all flirty and made plans for later -- squirrels, do I want to ask you why you're trying to push the porn music cue button, or why we even have a porn music cue button?

Never mind. On to discussion time, where Ino got confrontational with Reno about Fandom's inherent Fandom-ness, Ben strategized with Karla about defeating nefarious plants and got Raven to show him her netherverse . . . um . . . Chloe the TA was there, and Reno got a letter delivered by Karla, who was also there to apologize for missing class. Mathematics of Quantum Neutrino Fields's lesson on the Grandfather Paradox involved flirting with people in a bar and I'm sure there's some fancy scientific explanation for this that makes it all make more sense than it does to me right now, right? Is a Cigar Just a Cigar learned about color symbolism in literature, discussed color cliches, and had a distracted Jaime around to TA for Cindy.

Rinoa was hard at work in the library today, helping Alexander find geography books, getting an apology from Christian for disappearing the last few days since he was stuck in a locker, and . . . not really helping Rilla find romance novels; Rilla seemed to be doing just fine with that on her . . . Rilla, what are you doing in the romance novel section? Nobody let her near that series set in prehistoric times. Henry the librarian was in, but spending a lot of time on the phone.

Fraser spent his office hours rearranging furniture, and Sherlock used his time to lounge on the furniture, where Kukaku failed to blow him up, and so she beat him up instead. Karla ended up at Sherlock's office by accident, but in a lemons-lemonade sort of moment, took advantage of the opportunity to tell him that if he upset any of her friends, she would . . . let's say make her displeasure well known. Where Karla actually meant to go was Max's office, to deliver a letter to him. Anakin's usual conga line was a little shorter today: Raven's fangirling session started with her assuring him her shields are doing all right, and Karla's letter-delivery didn't get her out of getting lectured about getting in trouble.

Clubs

Parkour Club worked on the basics today, practicing moves under Bond and Kyle's supervision. Reserves . . . had some moves going on too, mostly Maladicta and Kennedy's mud-wrestling demonstration, but there was coffee and mingling time, which is tradition, I think, partnered sparring (or partnered deciding-not-to-spar, in Alexander and Scully's case), and talking to the reserve leaders, an opportunity Faramir didn't pass up with Maladicta, who got coffee and Faramir's cloak out of it.

Dorms

The gym was a good place for steam-letting-off, at least according to Ender this morning and Bruce, who got a little help from Blackagar, this evening.

Alex Karev's smoking-on-the-roof habit was less healthy, although it did get him a touchy-feely kind of argument with Emma, who was mostly up there looking for a light in the first place. Emma did have to field Karla's complaints about being antsy, which she might have vented by flirting with Alex a little.

Luke's afternoon somehow started out with cleaning his closet and ended up with makeout sessions with Percy. Well, that's one way to . . . huh. Jake wasn't doing either of the above, since he was injured, but Rosalind let him know she thought he should go to the clinic, and Blysse and Blind Seer stopped in to check up on him.

Effy was . . . lighting things on fire in her room, which sounds like a PSA waiting to happen, and whatever Triela was doing in her room with the door closed, the squirrels can't stop giggling over it.

I am not asking.

Town

Cindy is no longer a pair of glass slippers. Yes, this is news. Aphrodite got a visit from Karla, who got lunch out of the deal. Ben and Tahiri had a date involving ice cream and chocolate out on the beach. I'm not editorializing; draw your own conclusions.

. . . aww, over at the clinic, Hawkeye was dressed up in a tux with a fancy meal for two . . . and no takers for a dining partner.

It was extra quiet for Hinata at Book Haven, but loud at Groovy Tunes where Jono's loud-angry-music-playing didn't keep Ariel from complimenting both him and his pants, or Christian from coming by to apologize to him for missing the concert. Ino wasn't in a great mood at Covent Garden Flowers, and neither was Loki, who was hiding out in his apartment at MHA, but the ring-for-service -- hee, service -- bell he put out got rung a lot by John Sheppard.

*brief snippet of the chorus of "Ring My Bell"> plays*

Ariel was modeling the sexy dresses at Pixie Dust, where Quinn came in to visit and apologize for missing the concert, because she was stuck in a locker with Christian, but no, it wasn't like that.

At Turtle and Canary, Shunsui told Apu aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall about his new novel, and Mary was focusing really hard on Farmville at the Arms. Raven spent her shift at Dite's Decadent Delights reading, at least until the goddess herself stopped in to check up on her employee. Spock was also very work-focused at Fixer-Uppers, even with a visit from Scully, and Robin (eeeee) really got into the moving-stuff-around-in-the-back-room action at Caritas.

. . . oooh, action. That sounds nice. What am I doing here? Why are you people listening to this? There's gotta be more interesting . . . things to . . .

Yeah.

Night, Fandom!
