Fandom Radio, Wednesday, October 20th
Evening, boys.
Notice how you don't have to show up and watch me in my sleep to get me to do this?
Because that was creepy.
School
Today in Science we visited some place called Woodstock. If you cared at all for mud, music, and mud-covered people, then it was absolutely delightful. In addition to the mud and music there was exploring and talking to the locals, at least the ones who weren't staring at their own hands, Jaime and Raven talked about different kinds of music and made a dancing date for tomorrow, so long as she wore a skirt, because some guys are weird and insecure about things like that. And did I mention the mud, because there was a whole pit of it. Three guesses where the Doctor was. Unlike his much more sensible TAs.
Canada class talked about myths and biases about the opposite gender. After the lecture, everyone talked about last weekend, Karla and Sookie discussed whether or not they ate more as men. I'm guessing probably. Fraser was manly, which I'm sure we all needed to know.
In honour of Homecoming, Aly's class focused on the blatant lie that dancing is the best way to work on movement and muscle control. There was a lecture and demonstration, and despite the fact that some of us don't need dancing lessons as we're already perfectly capable of demonstrating muscle control, Aly was quite insistent, five more minutes and I've have been out of there. Luke, meanwhile, was cranky until Percy asked him to meet him in the Salle for a date. Popular meeting place that.
Then came the dancing. I'm not even going to dignify it by calling it torture. Percy was quite rightly less than thrilled, even when Aly told some more blatant lies about how dancing is like fighting. Which Elphaba apparently took to heart, seeing as she challenged people to dance with her. Faramir stepped up and they danced a 'lively jig'. A jig. Totally the same thing as fighting. Karla took the lead when dancing with Jason, because apparently he doesn't dance much. The TAs were there, Nico was surprised to learn that Fandom girls would probably not wait to be asked dance, no one with any sense would, then Percy was confused at him about why they fought when they were both girls. After all there are much more fun things they could have done, not that the two are mutually exclusive. Aly was there to talk to, Elphaba wanted to know if we really have to dance with someone at Homecoming, and Zoe came by to talk about how dancing increases a man's sex appeal. It doesn't.
Cultural Appreciation explored proper etiquette and formal dining, I'd make a comment about unending torment, except that the Underworld doesn't have a dresscode. Or much clothing at all. The TA was awed, and Ghanima was there.
Over in the Library, Dan was organising and hoping desperately for someone to talk to, while Henry played trashketball.
In club news, the Cheerleaders held tryouts, under the watchful eye of Coach Barney. They warm up, and Alice and Medusalith catch up. Then they introduce themselves while trying out moves and routines. In front of an audience, which I sure helped immensely. Then the current squad talked things over.
Meanwhile, Girls with Guns shot at moving targets. Always fun.
Dorms
Down in the Salle, Percy and Luke met for their sparring date. There was talking about about their feelings, what they want to do to each other, and kissing. That's talking about kissing, not actually doing it. Spirits, it's just like being around Richard and Kahlan again.
While over in the lobby, Jason had tickets and voting for Homecoming. Also glitter.
*chittering*
What do you mean, speaking of?
...that's a very...sparkly sign. No, no, I appreciate it...of course I intend to win... I just don't know if votes for rum works as well for students as squirrels.
Moving on.
Despite walking through the preserve while drunk and singing, Faramir did not fall down a hole but instead ran into Maladicta, who told him she shouldn't be attracted to him because he's a he. It happens. He'd probably have preferred falling down the hole though.
It was first aid day at the Reserves, and there was the inevitable mingling,Shira asked after Elphaba's health, which apparently did not involve visible wounds, then talk moved to magical healing as well as first aid, I know that last one surprised me. Watson was there, apparently starting a trend of random adults showing up, since Sherlock also came by to mock. It's like the...no, too easy. Tara thanked Watson and talked Fandom strange, and the fearless leaders were there.
Town
A strange German man dropped vegetables off for Lion-O at Luke's, Fixer-Uppers saw William work on his programming progress, as well as Rikku bouncing in to meet him. Ino was hard at work at Wellspring Arms, and Alexander used his time at Things Reborn to make pouches from old leather goods.
After the break it was back to rehearsals at the Boards. There was off-stage mingling, with Triela and Karla discussing why Karla was in such a good mood, and Sara and Triela introduced themselves to each other. For their part, the crew was hard at work.
Over at Caritas, Karev glared at Tino for no reason, meaning it was a normal Wednesday evening. Faramir came in to drink and argue the merits of Middle-Earth versus regular Earth. The answer is neither, the Territories are better than both.
And as usual, that's the last of the notes, so I'll be going...
*chittering*
Yes, I'll take the poster with me...you seriously want me to say this? ...fine.
'Vote Cara, she'll give you all the rum.'
