Fandom Radio- September 1

Hey again, Fandom. This is Jane Lane again, you might have heard me a few weeks ago. This time I'm here of my own free will, too, without being herded in by squirrels. And before I start reading off the every move you made and every breath you took as recorded by literate rodents, I'll just drop the idea in your heads that if you don't vote for me, they might come after you. All the rum they drink? Really only serves to keep away the rabies.

SCHOOL

Oh right, after going to class, I still have to talk about it. Well, at least I didn't have to take them all, that's something, right? Over in So Your Say You Want a Revolution class, which should earworm at least the percentage of you who are from this planet- and this time- Aly talked about her experience with revolutions while people took notes. Notetaking on the first day should be illegal. Any other day I'm just opposed to it on principle. On day one it's just not right. There were introductions, and then they talked about rebellions, which I'm sure was fun when talking to a room full of teenagers. And then Luke's cousins were interested in his answer. No pressure, Luke! Oh, and I guess Percy and Jason were glaring at each other with Nico watching. Yes, the squirrels saw that. Be afraid. After class Ino asked what a duani is. I don't have an answer for you, if any of you are now wondering what a duani is. And Cloud was asking about the TA spot.

...Cloud? Wait, I shouldn't talk, my parents are weird like that, too.

Also Rinoa wondered if this class could help her at home, Percy was glad this wasn't just some boring social studies unit, Nico thanked her for making them think. ...Seriously? I like this kid.

If you weren't earwormed by the last class, the next one I get to tell you about is Boom-De-Yada Science. I feel like that should be said with more enthusiasm than I can possibly muster. Say it enthusiastically for me, and everyone wins. Just be out of earshot of me when you do it. Everyone talked about what they like about Earth. I like that it hasn't been hit by any species-killing meteors lately. Cara got squeed at- squeed? God, that sounds wrong- by Bobby McCallister for having class together, and Clark asked her something about the sun shining and whether that was a good answer. Well, was it? Bobby and Clark geeked out over telescopes, and after class Bobby also asked the Doctor if this was really space. The answer? Nope. And if the Doctor was looking for a new TA, Zatanna wants the job. I've always wanted to ask- doctor of what?

Hey, here's a class I'm in. It's Canada class. We talked about myths and urban legends and boom-de-yada. I mean, yadda yadda. Dammit, last class. There were more introductions, so yay for easy classes. Cultural Appreciation got it explained to them that they're actually going out and appreciating culture. So for those of you who thought you could get away with sleeping in class, sucks to be you! They got to define what culture means to them, and after class Raven got a TA spot and Medusalith- sounds Goth- was worried that her hair made her stand out. I thought I had problems.

At the library, Dan spent his shift on the computer, hopefully engaging in productive things, like Minesweeper and downloading songs illegally. Henry was also going around and looking for books that needed rebinding. I really just had to read out loud about book binding. This is where I am now.

Emma came by Professor Kerrigan's office to find out what they're doing in class, since she's the new TA. Do I really have to call everyone 'Professor'? Is 'Ms.' or 'Mr.' not good enough for this crowd? Professor Perrault put her office back together, and Professors Rogers and Pitt were working on their classes. So students, if you have either of them, you have that stuff to look forward to. And Cally went to see Principal Washburn because she's not supposed to be here. Yeah, join the club.

DORMS

Speaking of clubs, that reserve thing met. There was mingling- the squirrels just went for the rum. Damn rabies. Rinoa introduced herself to Dolf and said hi to Sookie, while Raven wondered if Tim had heard of something called the Teen Titans. Sounds like a pop band popular in the 90's. More introductions, Raven recognized Elphaba's last name, and I have never been so thankful to be named Jane. Zatanna told everyone she was cursed, which got Elphaba's attention for some strange reason, and Squall liked that Rinoa's a knight or has a knight, or something. Dolf decided he should help run the club, Raven told Tara about her last meeting with Zatanna, and Kennedy was talking over the new kids while flirting with Tara.

Hi, I know none of you and I've just talked way too much about all your personal business.

Percy went to see how Luke's living now, and they got to talking about their time at camp and people they know back home, Rosalind wrote to her little sister who called her, and Scully was asking how her day went. Then in one of the common rooms Squall frowned for a while when Bod flipped channels, so I'm guessing that all went well. But there was pudding involved, so at least I'll imagine this story had a happy ending.

TOWN

Ino scribbled away in a notebook at Wellspring Arms, Alexander- I have to wonder whether he's varied his pizza toppings any- was reading a romance novel at Things Reborn. To each their own? Dolf was curious about the reading material, and Faith was checking out her new investment. I hope that doesn't mean Alexander. Bruce was there needing a belt and some pouches, which kind of makes him sound like he's trying to be some kind of kangaroo. Ariel and Jacob met at Chilly Boulder for some ice cream, which sounds really good right now, and Dru had the Magic Box open in case any new kids showed. Old kids, suck it.

Lion-o- again with the names- was polishing the glass at Luke's, which is the cue for everyone to go and put their hands all over it, and if you want to work at a law office, Cabot and Associates is hiring. That was a pretty good plug, if I say so myself. Almost looks like I was trying. Shelley was late at Pixie Dust, but made up for it by shopping. I can go with that. And then if you want to find Alex Karev on Wednesday nights, go to Caritas.

And that's it for me and my notes, and for the rum-drinking squirrels. Remember: voting. Rabies.
