Fandom Radio, August 26

Hi, Fandom! It's Thursday evening again, and this is Lacey Burrows here on WTFH, along with a few really subdued squirrels. It is a quiet break week. Sort of the calm before the new semester storm.

School

Well . . . the library was open, and really, really tidy thanks to Anemone's hard work on her last shift, but she still had time to talk to Henry about whether dyeing his hair in bright colors would keep him from getting eaten by Special Collections. And she got a present from him.

Aquaman packed up his office to leave. Aww. Who's going to teach the kids underwater basket weaving now?

Dorms

Hannibal put on quite the show in the fourth floor common room today, as the gathered crowd got to see. Peter Bishop was there with his popcorn and teasing Zack, who showed up covered in makeup and admitting that he didn't crash the girls' slumber party last night. Angela and Kate were standing by with cameras, and Helen wasn't about to miss it either. As for Hannibal's performance itself . . . well, I'm no dance critic but my notes seem to be implying that it would not be getting rave reviews. But it didn't scare everyone off, since afterward, Hannibal was informed that he's Zack's mancrush after that performance, although Zack got denied cookies by Karla, who's not happy with him for not crashing the party. For not crashing it? Kate tacklehugged Hannibal and certainly seemed to display enough enthusiasm to make me wonder how objective my squirrel reporter was about this. Yep, and Karla gave him beer, too, so really, now.

. . . bear with me a moment, it's hard to make out all the notes in this next stack. They're all blotchy with squirrel tears. Aww.

And with all these people leaving today, I can see why. Like Angela, who had all her bags packed and ready to go, and Hannibal standing there . . . inside the room, actually, telling her she's not allowed to fall in love with her next roommate. Aww. Chuck came to say goodbye and talk about post-grad plans with her, too. Dinah was heading out too, and giving things out, like a laptop to Azula, a book on -- okay let's just say a book to Gabrielle, and a dagger to Dru, whose suggestion about Dinah repeating senior year was probably not a viable one. Quite possibly, K-Mart's suggestion about locking her in the closet to keep her around wasn't viable either. Tim Drake didn't suggest any plans like that even though he is Plan Guy, but he did say he was sorry to see her go so soon after he got back. Hoshi's heading out too, and got a visit from Raven before she left.

Town

Lindsay wasn't in the most awake of moods at Nast Sporting Goods judging from the coffee, and Tara wasn't at her most cheerful at the Magic Box either. Over at the trooper station, on the other hand, Detective Reese had a lot of work to keep herself occupied, like Millie at Book Haven. At the Gig, on the other hand, Helen seemed to be in a pretty good mood.

Didi, or someone who looks like her since this squirrel looks unsure, was having a muffin at J,GoB today and . . . was greeted by Raven, who asked about Didi, as Death. She effectively tendered her resignation from Turtle and Canary to Shunsui, who isn't interested in applying for the job if she's hiring. Bod realized it wasn't Didi, either, and agreed to take care of her fish. Death and Delirium talked about how hard it is to end attachments, and Jake and Lindsay had to be told, too, that Death isn't Didi any more, and it's back to work for her.

Aphrodite was reading a book on hobbies at Dite's Decadent Delights, and had Cloud come in for a talk my squirrels don't have any details about. Drake came in to get a very special sort of goodbye from the goddess, and was in the park for one last look around and a talk with Kennedy before he headed up to the library to meet up with Death and . . . oh.

It was a pleasure being your radio colleague, Drake.

Jono and Death said their goodbyes in the park, and gosh, you guys, today is so . . .

*sad chittering*

Yeah. And with Chuck's last shift at Caritas meaning he had to break that news to Kate, hire Jessica to take over a shift, get in one last insult-fest with John Sheppard, and commiserate with Jaina over people leaving? It's no wonder Ben and Tahiri took a shuttle ride to get away from it all. At least Rinoa and Squall had a date at Il Pollo, and Zack was in a bouncy mood at Chilly Boulder and got teased by Vice Principal Deadpool and Jan who came away with way too much ice cream and that is a slightly terrifying thought. Dinah didn't need the extra sugar rush to be bouncy at Zack.

And that's all our news for the night, Fandom. Not to leave you on too sobering a note, but all of you leaving, take care, okay?

Actually, all of you take care. This is Lacey Burrows for WTFH, signing off for the night.

[OOC: I can't lie, I cried writing parts of this.]
