Fandom Radio - Tuesday, June 29, 2010
"Do not adjust your radios. Do not check your calendars. It's not actually Wednesday. It's Tuesday and I'm Hawkeye Pierce here on WTFH pirate radio. I don't know why the squirrels came to find me on Tuesday instead of Wednesday, but they brought an apple pie with them, so I'm not arguing.
School
Nothing happened. Of course nothing happened. Wait, nothing happened? Should I be concerned? A little worried? Suspicious? No? If you say so.
Dorms
The only person who caught the squirrels' attention in public is Alex Karev, who decided a smoke and some fresh air would cancel each other out and make him feel better. I wouldn't count on it after he hears my phone call.
Indoors, James was writing a letter home. I'm a fan of such endeavors myself. Everyone should write home once a month. It's cathartic and does wonders for putting things into perspective. Helen dropped by and learned it was James' birthday. Plans were made for celebration at Caritas! Though James was wary of the zombies. Don't worry, Jim, they don't bite so long as you don't get too close.
Jaina was packing up to head...not home. Says here she's moving into town instead. Tahiri assumed the worst, like running off without saying goodbye, but was surprised to learn Jaina wasn't heading home to busier pastures just yet.
That's it? Now I am getting suspicious. Did everyone throw a secret party and not invite me?
Town
Business roll call!
Sookie was covered in soda at Luke's, making for a very moist shift. Turns out Lion-o works at Cafe Fina too and kept looking at his pants. Someone give the guy a belt. Mary combatted her staff and their pro-hot-drink agenda at The Arms Hotel. Fight the good fight, Mary! Paige was listening to the radio at Strokes of Genius while she rearranged some stock, as did Didi at Turtle & Canary. I want to know how she could stomach being in the same room as durian flavored anything, let alone a durian flavored squishy that as on offer. Your stomach is far braver than mine.
Hinata spent the better part of the day staring off into space at Book Haven, while at MHA Loki spent the better part of the day staring at a television screen. Speaking of apartment buildings, MCA's Cally held a Meet the New Landlord marathon. Tim Desmond was the only one to show and gossiped about the former landlords.
Gibbs filled out paperwork and drank coffee at the Trooper Station. Tino was alone in manning Caritas tonight. I'll be right there, Tino! Save me a drink.
Captain Algren took his leave from Fandom at the Causeway and Triela saw him off. Safe travels, Captain! Groovy Tunes had an impromptu jam session with Jonothan and Dandelion finding a kindred spirit in each other over their love for good guitar music. Ahh, young kindred spirit finding.
Last but not least, definitely not even close to being least, I was working the clinic and had an unexpected visit from Griff. If you want any more details, you'll have to ask him. Bring balloons. I don't know if he likes balloons, but they brighten up the place.
